They were great - they even added workers to complete the project when needed. The salesman, Rick, was very knowledgeable and helpful. We did have to call when one of our gutters was damaged, but Rick got someone right out to fix it. They also cleaned and re-pointed the chimney. They were very tidy, covering the attic installation when ripping off the old roofs. They left the attic, garage and surrounding gardens pretty much free of the debris. We were pleased with their concern for our home.

Raul and his crew were on time all 3 days. They worked extremely hard and cleaned up thoroughly each day. Everything was done as quoted, price and work. I found a few minor issues after the last day and called Raul. His guys were out the next day to fix them. Raul is a quite guy but a hard worker. If you are not happy just tell him and he will make it right. My wife and I did our homework and had 4 quotes. Alywin was the second lowest bid but did everything the highest bid would have. Alywin's quote was $4,000 less than the highest bid. You will be satisfied with this company.

They are fantastic. He came by and looked at my gutter. He did not charge me for it. They did a whole new roof and they were great. They were professional and paid attention to detail. I got a 30 year roof.

Roof Replacement - I received several quotes for a 3-layer roof removal and replacement. Christian at Aylwin provided the bid and was helpful communicating with me via email. I was a little nervous hiring Aylwin at first since their bid came in the lowest but I went ahead with them given the positive Angieslist reviews. I'm glad I did! They completed the full removal, installed CDX plywood with 1/8 gaps, flashing all around house and chimney, and ventilation installed as requested. The roof looks great but I'm no expert. I had my brother-in-law who is a very experienced general contractor come out and review the job and he confirmed that the roof install was done very well. All in - two thumbs up to Aylwin, Christian and the job foreman, Hector. Well done and thanks for the good work!

They did a wonderful job. We dealt with them very closely and they have been very terrific.

After initialling being told by a different roofing contractor that we needed to replace the shingles on our roof, we used Angie's List to develop our own list of potential contractors. We called a total of 8 different roofing companies and received 8 bids for the job. We narrowed our list down to 3 contractors based on an apples-for-apples comparison for the work. Aside from their competitive bid, we selected Aylwin primarily due to the customer service that we received from the very first contact person who we spoke with from the company, who turned out to be the gentleman who came out and inspected our roof. His name is Muhammed Bilal, and quite frankly, every contractor out there should be so lucky to have an employee with as excellent customer service skills as Muhammed has. From the first conversation and throughout the entire process, he was very informative, willing to listen to our goals, questions, concerns, cordial, professional and above all else, super knowledgeable. From the various product lines that his company installs, to all of the technical questions that we asked and all of the details that we inquired about to understand the bid, Muhammed had answers to everything we asked of him. Without ever steering us into a product that we were not interested in, Muhammed was focused on delivering exactly what we were seeking. During the process, he never pushed us to make decisions until we were absolutely prepared to do so. And once we finally made the decision on product and color, Muhammed made sure that the scheduling met our own hectic schedules. As far as the actual work went, it was amazing to witness how quickly everything happened. More so, it was amazing to see how dedicated the install crew worked to finish the entire job within two days to avoid conflicts with a forecasted rain storm. In fact, on day one, the crew arrived by 7:30 am, and were still working until 7:00 pm later that evening. No one could have thought that there was all of this activity and construction going on because at the end of both days, our property was left spotless ... the crew cleaned up so well, it was as though they were never at our house. In the end, our new roof looks spectacular. We know now, that whoever installed the previous roof on our house (we've only been in the house a couple of years), certainly did not include all of the elements that our new roof includes. Whether it was a change in codes or the industry itself, we now feel much more secure about the roof over our heads. Within a few days of the job completion, we experienced our first real downfall ... because we have a court-yard, we are able to see the "performance" of our roof. We really didn't think we would be that interested or that impressed by our new roof ... but we definitely are. We would not be providing a complete enough review if we did not also mention the great assistance we received by several members of Aylwin's office staff. The women in the office who helped us were equally as dedicated, professional, courteous and looking out for our best interests ... as were the guys on the job. Great service. Great job ethic. Great pride. Great product. Great knowledge. Great professionalisn. Great end result. Exceptional customer service!!! One more shout out to Muhammed ... thanks for all of your help!!!!!

I called them for an estimate. They came that very day, so fast that I could not see them that day. The next day they returned and gave the estimate. The Very Next Day, they returned to replace my gutters. They removed all the old steel gutters, some rusty, some mismatched, some leaking. They replaced with deeper, wider aluminum gutters and larger, higher capacity downspouts with clean out debris traps. They advised on future cleaning and inspected my roof. The work was finished in six hours including all clean up. The water in the new gutters runs more freely, drains more completely and there are no leaks. The gutters were installed with hidden clips screwed to the rafter ends and fascia rather than installed with spikes and ferrules. The gutters have improved the home's appearance as well as increased rain protection. I first found Aylwin Construction on Angie's List and have used them for several projects and repairs at the house. I am completely satisfied with their service. Several years ago after repairing my old gutters they returned more than once to fix leaks without charging for the work.

Muhammed was great, busy guy but always on point - had 4 bids all in the same neighborhood and then Aylwin came back and reduced their price without me even asking about it. They had said they were 2-3 weeks out but with the weather they came back and did it a week later, took 2 days but was a thorough job, I inspected the roof and the vents and didn't see any cut corners. The crew was there on time, cleaned up at the end of the day. Roof looks great, crew leader knew what he was doing and communicated well. As a bonus I even got to throw away some extra junk in the dump box with permission, it was a great deal! I would give them an A+.

After a mis-communication, Christian called and arranged to perform the roof cleaning service the next day at a spectacularly reduced price. I am very happy.

Alywin Construction did a really good overall job on this project. This project had a lot of different components to it. I have no complaints with their workmanship. Christian made sure I was in the loop with everything they were going to do each day. On the days they were working, they were on time and worked until they finished that part of the project. The reason I gave them a "C" on professionalism is that they drywall guy dump the excess drywall from his machine when he was cleaning up at the end of the day in my garden. He tried to hide it under the hay that was there. Once I found it and reported it to Christian he came out first thing in the morning and cleaned it up. Christian spoke to Rufus the owner and after the job was completed the owner called me to apologize. Rufus made sure I was satisfied with everything before hanging up. I understand that one person can ruin the good work of a lot of people so I only marked them down in that area. Other then that they did a very good job. We are pleased with the end result.

After I contacted the company via Angie's List, I waited several days for a response. Eventually I got a call to schedule an appointment. Christian showed up on time, examined the roof and said he would send an estimate. It's been more than a week with nothing, despite a status request several days ago. I will get the work done by someone who wants my business. Update: I heard from both Christian, the estimator, and Rufus, the owner. Both apologized profusely for the delay in getting the estimate to me and told me this was not the way they normally conduct business (which I believe to be true, based on all the other reviews). I appreciate the follow up, and believe it was an unusual set of circumstances.

It went well, it took them about 2-3 days to do all of the work. I was getting a little nervous as it was getting to be quite late in the year and I was worried about rain. Fortunately the weather held and they finished before the rainy season started.

This firm was very helpful and responsive from the start. They responded to our request for an estimate and to do the work once we approved it. All work was done quickly, neatly and they did a great job at a very reasonable price. The actually did slightly for work than originally scheduled with no increase in our cost. All of their staff were very friendly and helpful. They also did a great job running down some difficult to find leaks at our daughter's home. First rate firm and staff!

We had some aging and easily clogged downspouts and some low spots on the guttering of the house. The guys were able to realign the guttering for better flow and replaced and reconfigured the downspouts for effective drainage. The team of two people were very professional and a pleasure to deal with.

We lost quite a few shingles in a recent storm. I call them when I noticed the problem the next day at 5:30 and they had someone at my house withing 1 hour. The foreman put on a temporary fix so it wouldn't leak and let me know the entire ridge needed to be replaced. He scheduled when to come back and replace it. He came back when he was supposed to and was punctual and on time. He was very professional and gained my trust quickly. The price for doing all the work was less that I had feared. It was such an easy experience I hired him to clean off the moss while he was up there.

Very nice company to work with. Greg Oster was a nice guy to deal with and very fair. They also roofed my new Tuff Shed for cost of materials only. Roof was reviewed to my satisfaction prior to requesting payment. They were not pushy on this and made sure I was completely satisfied prior to my payment.

They were good communicators. It was tricky because it was February and we had a downpour of rain when they were in the middle of it, but they did cover everything up. They were finally able to finish the job but it went longer than expected because of the heavy rain so it wasn't their fault. The work was great and we were really happy with them. They also had the lowest bid of the 3 we got.

It went perfect! I had called (3) companies that were listed as having 24hr Emergency service on their Angie's List sites. This was the ONLY one that called me back. I heard from the other two on Monday, while I was in North Dakota and my girlfriend was in London. Rufus called me back while I was leaving him a voicemail. He said he would call his guys and see if they could come by that afternoon, but either way he would call me back. You can see above how that went. I spoke with Rufus' office on Monday and they e-mailed me an estimate. I signed and faxed from my hotel. They received it and competed the work on Tuesday. I had flown home late on Wednesday and was unaware that it was completed until Thursday morning. They sent me an invoice to pay on Thursday. I can't begin to describe what an incredible job this company did. They advertised (like two others) that they had 24hr Emergency service, then provided it. I hope I never had another roof leak, but I know whom I will contact if I do.

The job took 5 days instead on the originally estimated 3 days. However, the weather may have played part. Overall the experience was good. The contractor accidently damaged some sheetrock in the house and broke a railing on the porch (both of which he repaired).

It went well. We had an estimate and discussed problems we had with our gutters and downspouts which were too small to handle large quantities of rain. The workmen arrived on the day indicated and performed the work, replacing gutters in the front of the house and all downspouts. They cleaned up perfectly, were polite and professional. We are pleased with the results.

Aylwin was one of 4 estimates I received for the job. They were neither the highest nor the lowest bid I received. (Above cost includes Washington State sales tax) . The estimator Mike, was prompt, prepared and knowlegable. After accepting their bid on September 18, I was told that they were approx 2 1/2 weeks out on their schedule, depending on the weather. In the interim, It began to rain which slowed their schedule. I completely understand this and was glad that they weren't roofing in the rain, since I didn't wish to have my house roofed in the rain. It was five weeks before they got to my job, and I didn't have a problem with that, except that I would have wished that their office was more proactive in keeping me updated. The crew showed up on time and completed the roofing job the first day. The following day the gutters were done and when I got home, the dumpster was gone, everything was cleaned up beautifully and my driveway was hosed down. My original bid did not include the Angie's list discount, which I pointed out to Mike in my acceptance email. He agreed to add the discount and notify the office, but when the invoice was emailed to me, it was not included. When provided with a copy of the email, the invoice was promptly adjusted accordingly. I did have one small problem after the fact, which Aylwin is not even aware of. I discovered a few days after the job was complete that the fan in my range hood had stopped working. With the help of my son, we took it apart and discovered that the fan blade was hanging up on the edge of the vent. Evidently the vent shaft was tweaked a little causing the fan to hang up. We were able to fix it and I never notified Aylwin.

The crew showed up promptly every day and worked until they ran out of daylight. The roof looks great and they did a nice job of cleaning up. My only reservation is that both my front and back security doors sustained some scuffing from the falling debris. Other than that, the crew was fantastic and very flexible. Northwest Natural Gas was also on the street to fix a neighbors gas line which required some juggling of trucks and equipment. I look forward to a long association with this company since my flat roof will require on-going maintenance.

The week of my call was the same week of the rain storm several weeks ago. Rick, the estimate person, is a great person to deal with and he was punctual and competent. Did not have good experience with the office scheduling the repair and clean up. I had to call the office several times to get an appoint time set. The 3-people crew worked on the roof several hours but did not do a good job with cleaning the roof. I followed up with Rick, who came by and did the final clean up. Very happy with the end result. Rick saves their overall ratings.
