Description of Work: I called asking for an estimate on a roof repair. Although their web site advertises roof repairs as a service, they told me they were too busy to bother with repairs, and couldn't recommend anyone else. At least they were honest and polite...

Description of Work: After 5 bids from several area roofing companies for the Certainteed Presidental TL roof, we chose Aylwin Roofing in Aloha. The price was very competitive, and although, not the absolute lowest ($11,800), we chose Aylwin because of the great Angie's list reviews and years of service. We wanted to make sure the company that provided a guarantee would still be around to honor the guarantee (very important). First, Rick Westfall gave a great price quote. Rick was very informative and left us with booklet sample of the products they use with the Presidental TL roof. There was also no pressure at all from Rick. Raul was the foreman with a crew of 5-6 men all whom were very professional and took great care to protect my lawn and the clean up was superb. All the gutters were cleaned and I had a problem with a 'dripping' noise outside my bedroom window and they came back twice to fix it (no charge). Since my roof was a complete tear-down from a wood Cedar Shake roof (1988), placing the Presidental TL shingles can be quite a challenge in cold weather because of the thickness of the shingles and some of my wood siding was a little higher profile due to the Cedar Shake wood shingles are a little higher in profile. I had one area of my wood siding that didn't quite line up evenly (not Aylwins fault) and I called Rufus, the owner, and that 'night' Rufus sent Ricardo to take a look at it. Within 2 days (due to rain) Ricardo brought out a carpenter and fixed my uneven wood siding to line up with the composition shingles angle. Also, I had wanted to place new insulation in my attic since it would be easier to do with the roof off (Aylwin provides this service) but after measuring the insulation inside my attic they determined my insulation met the standards and so I didn't need it. They could of just said I did need it and charged me but they were honest and saved me some money. On the contract it states that there will be an extra charge for replacing any rotted wood at an hourly charge ($55) plus a wood charge but again they were honest stated I had no rotten wood to replace so no extra charge. I will say that my husband and I are 100% totally satisfied with the finished product and the professionalism and promptness of this company. My new Charcoal Black Presidental TL roof looks stunning and my house looks practically brand new. We are in the process of having Aylwin bid for new windows for our home as well. Good golly gosh, if you don't get a bid from this company your missing out on the best roofers in the Greater Portland Metro area! I'll keep you posted on my windows!!:) P.S. Cascade Roofing gave me a bid of $16, 200, did they think we were crazy?!! Also, mention Angies List for a discount, $500 for us, yippee!!!

Description of Work: I had a leak in my roof. these folks are the only ones who actually put a temporary repair in place. I had them out to do the actual repair and they showed, up did the job with no mess, and the price was what was quoted. I would use them again.

Description of Work: I was very excited about using this company based on all the positive reviews on Angie's List and what a great score they had but was extremely disappointed when they were a constant no show. I called three different times to just get an estimate and each and everytime was told sorry that they will have someone contact me immediately. After three different conversations all one week apart i never heard from anyone. I think part of the issue was my job was a roof repair and they person i spoke with said it would fall in their lower cost range. My guess is that when they found out that my job was a smaller one they probably didnt give it any priority which is perfectly fine had they been upfront with me after the first call. I didnt appreciate getting led along with false promises.. -Charlie

Description of Work: They needed to repair a lot of things inside my attic. They needed to add insulation, repair a fan, and fix a leak.

Description of Work: I would definitely call Aylwin Construction for all of my roofing needs in the future. They replaced my entire roof, including 16 sheets of plywood, new frame supports, and new rafters and hips.They also repaired some dry rot I had above the front door. The job took two days. I was extremely pleased with their professionalism. They took the time to explain everything to me as they went along, as there were problems areas they uncovered as they went along. I felt that they really cared about doing the job right at a reasonable cost.

Description of Work: I contacted them in summer when they were still Bruce Morin Gutters. They replaced a rusted gutter section and patched some leaks. When leaks continued they returned to re-patch and charged nothing. Then winter rains came and leaks reappeared. When I called they had changed company name and I was a bit leery of the change. But the service level has remained top notch. They have again patched some leaks, again at no charge. They said as long as they were working on the same leaks and section they originally repaired they would fix problems at no charge. That's great service. They have quoted me for replacing all gutters around the house at a price that beats the fancy gutters that supposedly shed leaves by huge margins. The work has not been done but will be done by Aylwin Roofing when the time comes. And they will do roof repairs, too. I'm completely satisfied so far. They have been very responsive as well and have given good estimates.

Description of Work: I contacted many roofers for my 203k FHA loan. Out of all the companies, Aylwin was the only one to call while there to discuss. The bid was honest and totally reasonable. The Aylwin team was amazing during the 203k process, which is a real paperwork pain for contractors ...and super understanding when my project plans changed. AAAs across the board. Just waiting on some hang ups in the purchase process so I can start my other bldg projects (with Aylwin).

Description of Work: Work completed in a timely manner. It did take them awhile to fit us into their schedule, but it is the busy time of the year for roofing. Ran into a few areas of rotten decking and were able to replace quickly and very affordable. Also, recommended someone to put on the gutters who was quick and affordable.
