Eclipse Heating and Cooling installed a new 95% efficiency York HVAC unit 5/14/2019 for Holly Hollenbeck, the original owner, in the home I currently own. On 5/24/2019 the home was sold to Jack and Carin Jackson. Later, in the fall, the Jackson's began having problems with the gas heat portion of the York unit in that the flame would go out and then not re-ignite. Even though the unit was less than 6 months old, Eclipse charged them $180 to "fix" the unit, which turned out was not fixed! I purchased the home in 8/28/2020 and did not use the gas furnace until November, when the furnace intermittently would not re-ignite after going out. I called Eclipse to come out and check out the unit when it completely went out in December. They sent Daniel out, their senior technician, that had 9 months experience at the time. He checked out everything, somehow got it restarted but could find nothing wrong, and charged me $145.00. December 24th it went out again and would not restart. He diagnosed a control board. York would supply the board but I had to cough up $300 for "labor". I did not believe it was the control board and hired a technician, on my own dime, with 20 years experience. He found that the flue pressure switches were bad and replaced them. I mentioned that the exhaust stack had no termination like the only other 95% efficiency furnace in the neighborhood and suggested I put a double 90 on the bare flue opening. This is what finally fixed the furnace. Eclipse had done a faulty installation, by not terminating the exhaust pipe properly, which allowed our notorious high winds, at times, to apply excess pressure to the pressure switches causing them to fail and the furnace to be shut off! I went through considerable expense, frustration, and no heat during freezing weather because of Eclipse's incompetence and negligence. They advertise no charge if they don't fix your hvac. They would not even refund my service charge let alone the expense of having to hire another experienced technician to fix my unit. Incidentally, they did not seal the seams on the air handler allowing conditioned air to escape in my garage. In my opinion, these people are incompetent, unethical and should not even be allowed to continue in business. You have been warned!

The service provided was a bit unnerving from start to finish and took several weeks to get properly completed. I had dealt with this provider for many years servicing my old unit and was very happy with their service which is the reason I went to them for a total replacement of my AC and Heat system in my house. When they actually started the job some of the parts like the AC return duct had to be custom made to fit the closet where the unit was installed which I fully understood however when it came to actually doing the installation it seemed like the main installer really did not know what he was doing. it took approximately 2 days to get the new system in and then it had to be rigged with extension cords to run because the electrician did not show up when he was supposed to. The original installer also did not properly level the outside unit which had to be cleared up. That took yet another couple of days for him to get here and do the proper wiring for the finish of the installation. In the mean time the original installer left a mess in the closet where the new system went leaving oversize holes in the floor around the tubing. Another aspect was that I asked several times about the required permit for the city to be told it was probably on a desk in their office. I never saw the permit. I called their office and told them about the issues I was not happy about in terms of the sloppy installation and they had a couple of their techs come out and clean it up. I also had to wait nearly a week for the wall grid to come in for the filter thus having the filter taped to the wall until it could be properly installed. About a week after the system was finally installed and cleaned up the coil inside the unit had to be replaced as it was defective and lost all the charge which was not the fault of the installing company as it was defective. When their co-owner came in to respond to some of my concerns he asked if the system had a start up on the furnace at which I told him I did not think so as they did not originally check the furnace for operation after installation so he did the start up check on the system to make sure it was properly running. When the new thermostat was installed the original installer did not know how to do that either. I ended up figuring it out and programming it myself over his shoulder while he was trying to figure out the book that came with it. After all was said and done I found out I could have gotten the same system for nearly $2,000. less however I trusted this company and was desperate as my old system had gone completely down and it was unbearable @ over 100 outside ever day. Now back to the permit. After not getting any clear answers from the company and not seeing the permit I finally called the city to find out about it. I was told that they had applied for the permit but never paid for it so in fact there was no permit which was supposed to be posted on the property prior to the job even being started. I called the company while I was at the clerks office to inquire about this aspect of non payment and there not actually being a permit. I was told that the payment would be taken care of. About 2 weeks later I did not hear anything from the city about an inspection being done on the new system so I again called the city to find out what was going on there. I was told that Eclipse had not scheduled the inspection so I did that myself. Now to the financing! This was all supposed to be financed and I was told that there was no issue with that however I had to sign the paperwork several times as the company could not get the paperwork completed properly thus resulting in a major delay in that process being completed because the finance company kept rejecting the applications for job completion. I ended up going into the Eclipse office twice to get this straightened out. In the mean time one of the co-owners called me wanting to know why they had not yet been paid. This was yet another month after the installation had finally been done and cleaned up. This system has been in my home for 1 year now and after the mess was finally cleared up I have been happy with it. I have a 10 year parts and labor Warrantee on the system and I will continue to have Eclipse service the unit however it his highly unlikely that I will have them do any other installations in my home. I rated them with a "C" as they have some very good and responsible people in that company, The co-owner went out of his way to get things cleared up and straightened out, their techs are excellent, however the installation was not properly or adequately planned out, the original installer did not in any way seem to be professional or have the proper knowledge for getting the job done in a professional and timely manner and the process trying to get the financing completed was unacceptable to me.

This company serviced my CH&A unit for over 2 years. I was having electrical problems. The unit kept blowing fuses. They told me the unit was too small for the size of the house. I also got suckered in their maintenance plan. Finally tired of the problems, we bought a new unit from them. A couple months later we had to move out of state and put the house up for sale. The house was vacant for 6 months in the winter months so the A/C wasn't running. When inspection time came up for the sale the unit blew a fuse. I called them to look at it and they told me a dog had chewed through the 220 wiring! No dog could have accessed the area and if one did it would be dead! They charged me for the call and did not honor the warranty. That was probably the problem the whole time and I didn't need a new unit. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!!!!

In January we contacted Eclipse to have them look at our furnace that was not working properly. We had, had Eclipse work on our furnace two years prior and asked for the same technician we had, had before. We were then informed he no longer worked there. On January 29th, 2013 a technician arrived at our house a half an hour later than the time slot we were told. He was very unprofessional making comments about getting his girlfriend pregnant and other various non furnace related comments. My husband watched him the entire time and witnessed him take the pump apart, set the pieces on the dirty ground and then reassemble the pump without cleaning the pieces first. After putting the pump back together he concluded the pump had seized and needed to be replaced. We then asked when that could happen. He told us he believed that there was a pump back at the shop in Hermiston and said he may be able to go get the pump and install it later in the day if it was the correct pump. We paid $135 for his ?inspection?. We never heard from him after that until about a week later when my husband called him. We wanted to get our furnace up and running because we have an 8 month old son living in the home. He said the pump they had would not work and he would go ahead and order one for us and they would have it in a day or two...we never heard from them until my husband again called almost 4 weeks from the first meeting to figure out what was going on. On February 20th at 11:40am he called and asked what was going on and wanted to see if the pump had even been ordered. The receptionist wasn?t sure and said she?d call him right back once she knew what was going on....he never heard back from her. He again called on the 20th at 4:31pm and got a different receptionist and asked the same questions and was given the same answer. That they?d call right back, and they never did. He then had almost given up on them and called one last time. On Thursday at 10:26am he called Eclipse and was told the same thing but, this time the receptionist actually called back at 10:31am and said that they would send the owner out the next day on February 22nd between 3 and 4pm and get it taken care of. My husband took half a day off to be at the house when the owner arrived. We waited until 4:35pm and then called the shop to see where he was. The receptionist told us as she had so many times before that she would call him and find out and then call us right back. We had not heard by 4:55pm so decided to call one last time. This time when we called we didn?t get a receptionist...we got their answering machine because they were closed It has been 5 days since they were supposed to install the pump and haven?t even given us a phone call to apologize or let us know what happened. I have never had such AWFUL customer service in all my life. So completely unprofessional. Thank god we have a wood stove in our home or this would have been far worse. My husband lost a half a day of pay and I have had to remove our child from the home during the day because it is far too cold. We contacted a different company on Monday the 25th, they came out to our home, they were on time, they diagnosed the problem, they ordered the correct pump and they are installed it 3 days later. It only took them 4 days, it took Eclipse 24 days of jerking us around and they accomplished nothing!
Description of Work: The only thing they did was "inspect" and diagnose the problem with our furnace. We had wanted them to completely replace the pump but they wouldn't come out when promised or communicate!
