John is a true professional. He designed the perfect sprinkler system for my yard, which has a vegetable garden, planters, flower beds and grass. I felt like he was competitively priced. I feel lucky to have found Portland Sprinklers. His work far exceeded my already high expectations.

Portland Sprinklers installed a complete sprinkler system for us in June 2020. Our system was somewhat complicated in that it has 2 water sources for different parts of our property. We received several bids and while this one was not the least expensive, it was within the range of what our landscape designer predicted and it was by far the most detailed - taking into account the extensive hand digging required by our existing landscaping. In addition to a more typical lawn, shrub, and tree setup, we also had an extensive drip system installed to water pots, hanging baskets, bird baths and provide mist for our hummingbirds. We currently run 10 zones and have 2 stubbed for the next phase of our landscaping with 4 additional zones to accommodate future plans. The installation went very well- crew was great- and they cleaned up nicely. The whole system has worked flawlessly and it is so nice to be able to make fine adjustments to it from the app on my phone while standing in my yard rather than needing to go back and forth to the controller in the garage. I highly recommend and would hire them again.

We needed a sprinkler system for our newly landscaped home. Upon Portland Sprinkler recommendations, the aesthetics were further enhanced with two walkways and accent lighting. All the work done in a professional and timely manner. They are also quick to respond to any warranty, maintenance concerns or problems. We have been throughly pleased with Portland Sprinklers and have referred them to our family and friends.

The system was installed years ago and continues to work like a charm with regular maintenance from Portland Sprinklers. If we ever have an issue with a broken head it’s taken care of promptly.

This is a1 year follow up. The sprinkler system has work exactly as I hoped. John has come by 4 times to adjust, move or replace heads in order to make the system work perfectly in our yard.

John and his crew did an excellent job in installing our new sprinkling system. Throughout the job they took great care in making sure the job site was clean and well organized. If I had a question or wanted to change something they were responsive and more than happy to accommodate the request. After the install if I had questions or concerns they were quick to respond. I wish every contractor I have hired was as professional as Portland Sprinkler and Lighting. I highly recommend!

Went great. They were recommended by the people that did our landscaping. They came in after the fact and installed the sprinkler system with no disruption to the plants, and came back again after a month or so to do some tweaking to the system to tend to areas that weren't being adequately watered. I have been very very happy with them. John is a great guy to work with.

The sprinklers were hand dug - prevents damage; the locations were carefully selected - garden, grass, etc.; and John comes by twice a year at my request to set up and take down, though if you are more handy than I, you could maybe do that part yourself. He is easy to work with, and I feel very happy with the system. He put it in a couple years ago, and has had to replace a couple heads of course since then - lawn mowers, etc. Very pleased.

great ! they replaced a mediocre sprinkler system one suited to my yard and garden. it was reasonably priced and the service (now 2 years out) is great. outdoor lighting too ! great

We have exclusively used Portland Sprinkler for a few years now. They are responsive to calls, show up when promised, and can identify and fix problems like no one we have ever used before. Our system is 25 years old, and it’s never worked better. I would never even consider calling anyone else to service or upgrade our sprinkler system.

They would not give an estimate or even a ball park figure at all on project. Wanted to go in blind and just have us pay for the work without any idea at all on how much we could be paying. Said it was per hour per person on the job, but didn’t care to come out to see the yard and what we have already and when I asked how would we ever know if we could afford to do the project he said, “you know, forget it. I decline.” And just hung up on me. The most unprofessional experience I’ve ever had trying to get a bid or project scope.

I hired Portland Sprinklers to put in a system in for me at the end of Nov. 2019. During the bid process John was always on time if not a couple of minutes early. He came out a couple of time to answer all my questions and refine the design of the system. I live in Gladstone, very rocky soil, and have a fully landscaped lot of about half an acre with low water pressure so it was a challenging project. The system ended up being 14 zones with 80+ heads in total. During installation, John and his crew put back any plants they had to disturbed. They put down plywood to protect on all concrete surfaces they were walking on and cleaned up every night before they left. John adjusted the system to make it work for my lot without hesitation and even added landscape lighting wire for me in the sprinkler trenches. I would highly recommend him and Portland Sprinklers.

I do not use Portland sprinklers. It wouldn’t let me change it to landscape service company. This is the service I used. They were friendly and price was right.

very well, mud puddle in yard called to have problem checked out, i had already determined leak in sprinkle system. when John returned my call next day, explained my problem he’s very knowledgeable and through discussed possible scenarios, and quoted me the worse situation and an estimate. I scheduled the appt.. which he was able to come sooner he got right to work, diagnosed the problem was two bad valves, not turning off system, He repaired the issues, timely all is good now.

John is great to work with. We have called on him serval times over the past couple of years. He is prompt in returning calls and the price for his services are fair. John revamped our old dinosaur system - giving us new heads and a more efficient watering system. He installed a drip system in my production area which I use for my flower business and he was kind enough to divide the bill to keep the business expenses separate. After all this work, he took the time to for yet another service call to just educate me on said dinosaur system. John has been a pleasure to work with.

John, Josh and one more guy arrived this morning and got right to work figuring out our old "DIY" system. They replaced all the valve boxes, valves, installed new sprinkler heads, and repaired a couple of pipe leaks. PLUS we have a new outside hose spigot near the vegetable garden which John suggested we add (great idea!). By the end of the day, everything was working again. We can't tell where any digging was done because they replaced the dirt and/or gravel exactly as they found it. The process was seamless from beginning to end. John was very patient with my myriad of questions and walked me through the layout, zoning and functionality of the Rainbird system. The crew was fun, engaging and knowledgeable... they worked hard every day until the job was completed and took extra care to leave the site as clean as possible. I would highly recommend Portland Sprinklers. I had two incidents that required immediate attention. The first incident was a broken sprinkler pipe. John with Portland Sprinklers responded promptly, diagnosed the issue and quickly repaired the pipe and rebuilt our valve box. John helped with the second incident that occurred some months later. We had to replace the main water pipe to our house. The issue didn't directly involve the sprinkler system at first. However- the plumber we hired to replace the main water pipe had to rebuild the sprinkler valve box and didn't do the best job. Long story short....after the plumber completed his work, we determined that there was still a leak in the system somewhere. John helped me troubleshoot the issue and he determined that some debris had gotten into the system and was interfering with one of the electric sprinkler valves. I was able to flush out the debris at the direction of John, and the problem was solved. John was very accessible via voice and text, and even showed up at the house once during the second incident. I'm very happy with all of the help John provided. I highly recommend Portland Sprinklers.
