Muir Painting

I would love to write a good review given my family has used this company with success. However, after close to two weeks of attempting to get a quote with no response from them, I felt it would be good to write this review. I am willing to leave room for a bad answering service. That said, I have left at least 3 messages with their business line. One time, the person on the other end said they would call every member of the team till they reached someone to make sure they called me back. To this day, I have never heard back from Muir Painting. This alone, regardless of how good they might be, is very poor customer service. Hopefully someone there will read this review and fix the situation.

Dan Muir came out right away, gave me a quote and got me on the work schedule as soon as I confirmed I wanted them to complete the work. They came out with a large crew and completed the work in one day. I was very impressed! I think they did a great job, good clean up, very professional team that addressed any issues right away. Would use them again.

Dan and his team did an excellent job of painting our house. They were very responsive when I reached out for a quote and the price was very reasonable for the work that was done. He provided a quick and easy way to pick our colors out and delivered high quality work. Dan was able to get us into his busy schedule very quickly which is something that we were very grateful for. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking to paint their house.

They were very courteous and did the job well done. They have reasonable pricing. They were very patient and fixed everything. The crew he brought was awesome. There was a delay between the quote and getting it done.The owner kept calling me, that showed his interest. I was very happy with their service. I don't have any complaints for them.

Large crew = efficient and effective. They are punctual and very hard working. Appear to enjoy working together. They only negative is they were quite loud very early in the morning ( 6am arrival ). Understandable arrival time given August heat. There was loud banging of the ladders/ equipment on the house at set up and loud voices yelling at times to communicate with each other when some crew in the front and back of the house. The only other surprise is that this company does not accept electronic payment with debit or credit card. I should have asked up front since forms of acceptable payment methods were not listed on the official paperwork/quote. Other than those two negatives the quality of work and paint used is superb.

Very well. A crew of 5 or 6 (I lost track) came early on a hot day; they scraped old loose paint, sprayed the body, and finished by brushing the trim. They were done in one day, and I found just one missed spot, which Dan took care of quickly. No mess left behind. Very pleased.

They were professional, punctual, and pleasant to child.

Because of the circumstances, we didn't have much lead time to offer Dan. Even though it was the middle of the busiest time of the year for house painters, Dan understood the significance of the event and moved Heaven and Earth to get it done for us in time; he even brought on additional workers! Dan's teams, led by Matt and Ishmael, worked very hard and efficiently to finish the job within a week. The ceremony was in an intricate flower garden on the South side of our home, and we expected some damage to the plants due to the proximity to the house; we were very happily surprised to find that the plant damage was minimal! The painters that focused on the finish work ensured that no detail was overlooked. Our 114-year old "Grand Dame" looks amazing and we couldn't be happier. Muir Painting really came through for us!

Good job by the ten-member crew who finished painting in one day. Washing was done prior. the 2 leads keep the job quality and efficiency of the crew at a good rating.

Dan responded to my after-business-hour online request very promptly. I had sent in my request around 6:30 p.m. , he called me at 8:20 p.m. He was very upfront with me that he could not fit any small jobs in his schedule this summer. He referred me to a person who would be able to help me. I was impressed that he was responding to a request that he knew he was not going to take at 8:20 p.m. in the evening.

Guys were on time and they finished quickly. Not as detail oriented as I would have liked but overall a good job.Cleanup was great.

The MUIR painting crew is absolutely fantastic. When I called, Dan Muir was on top of a ladder painting. He was at my house that afternoon to give me a bid, and pointed out some damage that nobody else noticed and included the fix in his price His bid was within 2% of the competing bids. One guy came out and pressure washed the entire house. About a week later his crew of about six guys was here at 7:00 a.m. sharp (crew chief was waiting for his crew in the cul-de-sac at 6:45). We've got a 2,000 square foot two-story house, and they did everything from prep to cleanup in less than one day. They walked around the house with me to get my approval (and do a few final touch-ups). That evening I noticed never-before-seen flashing was now pretty visible, given the new color scheme. Dan came out himself to touch it up the next day. They even replaced the weather flashing in the front door and put a few screws into a deteriorated raised garden bed at no extra charge! In short - Dan's team is comprised of a bunch of professional guys who do quality work at a competitive price; they care about how your home looks as much as you do. I'd definitely hire them again.

If there were a report card for contractors, Muir Painting would score "A+" in all categories. They certainly live up to their slogan: "Thorough Preparation, Quality Materials, Expert Application, Careful Clean-up." Dan Muir and his employees were an outstanding team. I so appreciated Dan's prompt responses to phone calls and questions, and the skill, proficiency, and professionalism of his employees. They did a beautiful job. I want to also give special recognition to Matt who was the team lead person. He was so kind, patient and approachable. Thank you for a job well done. You get my vote for "Super Service Award 2017."

Dan and his crew were friendly, punctual, tidy and very professional. They let me know in advance when they were coming. They worked efficiently without disrupting our schedule at all. Dan made sure we were happy with the job, walking the perimeter with us and checking for any needed tough ups or problems. We would certainly call Muir again. in fact, we have asked to have someone from his crew work on a project inside our home.

Muir Painting exceeded my expectations and delivered a very positive, easy, stress-free experience. The price was within just a few dollars of other quotes I had. I approached this painting project with a sense of dread, expecting some of the delays, excuses and aggravation that some contractors deliver. None of that materialized. With only a short window of weather opportunity available, Owner Dan Muir sent out two crews, (8 men, I think), and they began arriving a half hour ahead of schedule at 6:30AM. All were cordial and professional. and they worked with speed and efficiency like a well-oiled machine. There were no unexplained absences or goofing around. On Day 1, they worked from 7:00AM to 4:00PM and took 30 minutes for lunch. Taping and painting was completed in a single day with a high degree of competence and efficiency. On Day 2, they painted the trim in half a day. There was no drama whatsoever. They took care to cover and move my patio furniture and BBQ. They did no damage to my landscaping and cleaned up after themselves. The one detail they could have paid more attention to was re-caulking around the windows, which Dan immediately addressed when it was brought to his attention. It's such a treat to encounter this level of proficiency. As a customer, I find it far preferable to have eight painters working for a day and a half than to have two painters here all week. I love that approach and am very happy with the results. I almost didn't hire Muir Painting but I'm very glad now that I did. Dan Muir is well-organized and responsive and he delivers!

His crew came right when he said they would, foreman was very professional and respectful of my home. Crew worked well with each other. They had two guys out sick and asked to finish the next day, when I said that would be very difficult for me Dan put on his whites and helped get it done that day. I've spent two days looking for flaws cause I think I should be timely with callbacks and have found nothing.

This paint job was the BEST. I went to Rodda Paint & chose a base color & Trim color. The velvet finish paint that he told me to get really looked like velvet when the paint job was finished. This house never looked so good. The Crew was the Best !!! and did everything and then some. I thank Mr. Muir for his expertise. The Crew for their meticulousness. I was a conscientious worker during my working days & I appreciate this when I see it in others.

The trim looked fine but the rest could have been painted better. There was overspray on parts that didn't need paint, like an exterior outlet box and shed piers, and no paint on some areas that should have been painted, like in eves and on house corners where the original color is showing.. There was also masking left on the house that I had to remove and trash left around like drink cans, cups and masking stuff on the ground that I had to clean up. I had showed Dan one of the areas that was missed but he just shined me on and didn't get it corrected and it is still unpainted to this day. Guess I'll have to do that too. Also, my house was painted by the previous owner in 2009 yet Dan insisted there was lead paint so charged me $5,000 for scraping off the "lead" paint? and painting 3 sides of the house and trim ( front was brick). I thought this was a little much. He was Johnny on the spot for his money but not at fixing mistakes. In retrospect, I should not have paid him until I was satisfied. My mistake. Don't you make the same. I will add that they did do a good job on the trim and front door. Overall I was not happy with their total job.

Took them 8 months to come out and do touch up after many requests, but only after I finally threatened to hire someone else to do it and take them to small claims for the cost. He brags about making $1 million a year and is too busy to do these touch ups. All this income but can't hire professional painters? This guy is a complete jerk and needs some anger management. I wouldn't hire this guy again to do finger painting much less a house .

5+ stars. Dan Muir was exceptionally easy to work with, answered all of my (million) questions throughout the process, and was hands down the most fair-priced. Dan and the crew who carried out the work were professional and personable. They did an amazing job and I could not be happier.

Early on, one gentleman came & power washed the house. The weather kept us guessing from day to day, but Dan kept us informed. Once we had a clear day, the crew came & did the entire job in one day. They arrived early in the day & didn't leave until everything was done. They were very professional & nice as well. We wanted a type of paint that was not part of their offering, but we agreed that we would pay the difference in order to use Benjamin Moore - made us all happy.

Exceptional experience! From the moment i contacted Muir Painting on Angies list until the painting was finished was exceptional. Within 24 hrs of contacting Muir, we had a quote and a voicemail offering to answer any questions or concerns. We booked the job 3 months later. After booking the job, the cleaning took place a week later and the entire job on a 3600 sq ft house was completed in 1 day. They sent out 3 crews and painted the exterior, trim and various other details all in 1 day. It was incredible. The work and attention to detail was tremendous. The clean up was also done very well. Every conversation we had with Dan Muir was easy and effective. We were totally thrilled with our experience with Muir Painting and highly recommend them.
