Description of Work: Muir painting came out to give a bid to paint the exterior of our home. He was on time, informative, and his bid was competitive. We ended up going with another bid based on a recommendation from a family friend but without that would have used him for sure.

Description of Work: Prepped and painted my 100 yr old Portland bungalow. Completely changed the color scheme from previous owners from green body and dark blue trim to cream trim with a light yellow body. This was a huge task as the house could not be stripped due to new laws regarding lead based paint. It was first power washed and then sealed to prevent chipping paint from flaking off. They did a great job on a 2600 ft2 house. The eaves and beadboard over the front porch as well as all of the window detail and intricate skirting on the front porch had to be turned from dark blue to cream. Dan did a great job as it was also close to the end of window of time in the spring to complete before the weather got too hot. They had to come back once to touch up some places that were missed but did so quickly and cleanly. Dan was attentive in making sure the job was completed to my satisfaction and I'm extremely happy with the results. My neighbors love it and I love coming home to it now. It has held up and cleans easily.

Description of Work: Power washed the house and came to paint the next day. Detailed the spots that need scraping. Primed and painted. Cleaned up very well. Lots of attention to detail. Mr. Muir explained reasons for problems in certain areas where weather and cedar siding affected paint adhesiveness. Did a very nice job.

Description of Work: These guys are great. We were in a tight time frame with our job and Dan sent two crews to get the job done for is. We were very pleased with the outcome and recommend this company highly.

Description of Work: Muir Paint painted the entire outside of our home, 3600 square feet inside) including the trim. They were conscientious about preventing drips and cleaning up where ever they worked. The job was completed efficiently and thoroughly. The team also worked on the interior of our home to repair dents and scratches as needed. They were careful to ensure the repairs were undetectable upon completion. The crew was also very considerate of our renters schedules and privacy.

Description of Work: The crew of eight men showed up at 7:30 am and started right to work. They were very professional and personable. A happy crew that worked as a great team. They had great attitudes throughout the day. A neighbor who was watching the process said that he had never seen a bunch of guys work so h****** such a hot day (88 degrees). They were even concerned that the music they were playing might not suit my taste. They wasted no time ever!! My house is a large (2500 sq ft.) old, two storied quaint structure built in 1931 and had several things that needed to be fixed before they could begin painting. Some cedar shake siding needed to be replaced. It had been many years since the house had been painted and the window frames were down to bare wood in places. The windows needed glazing and calking. These were taken care of with great skill. Afterwards the owner Dan Muir went through the house checking to be sure that all the windows would open and shut and that I was satisfied with the work. They completed the whole job in one day!! with no shortcuts. If I expressed concern about anything they took care of it immediately.I would definately call on them again if I needed this house or any other house painted. I highly recommend them.The cleanup left not a scrap of evidence that they had been here except for the beautiful paint job.

Description of Work: We received several estimates to paint the exterior of our house. Mr Muir originally came in with the lowest bid and wrote on the estimate that he does a "double coat". We asked if that meant two coats and he said "no". What does double coat mean to the average consumer if not two coats? That was rather perplexing. He gave us the lowest bid we received and said that it included any paint we wanted. So we did the research using Consumer Reports and the best paint was Sherwin William's Duration. When we told him that was our choice he said he would have to go up $600 because Duration was much more expensive. We did not use his services and expressed our dissatisfaction. Please be advised.
