Muir Painting

We are so pleased with the work performed by Muir Painting. They arrived with a full crew, ready to begin the prep work just after 8 am. By the end of the day, around 4 pm, our house was fully painted, including the trim, shutters, exterior doors (except the front door, which we didn't want painted), and the garage door. We really liked the technique they used. After taping off and prepping an area, they sprayed a small area, worked the paint in to the siding with a brush, then sprayed the area again. The south side and front of the house were then given an extra coat of paint. The bid included the extra coat for the south side, and we were going to pay for any extra paint that needed to be purchased if the other sides required additional paint. However, they didn't charge extra to do the front because they had enough paint, and they wanted to make sure the front was looking extra nice. In the end, all of the sides look great, with or without the extra coat. At the end of the day, they walked around the house with my husband and asked him to point out any areas that needed additional work. They were very careful about not getting paint on our gutters (new, leaf-guard gutters that didn't need paint), driveway, porch, or landscaping. They even left behind a partial gallon each of house paint, trim paint, and a contrast color that was just used on our shutters. Before leaving, they cleaned up all debris and swept the area. The painters were friendly, helpful, courteous, and professional. They seemed very concerned about making sure we were pleased with their work. Dan Muir was on-site with the crew for a portion of the day and he called in the evening to find out if we were pleased with the work. He asked us to call if we find they missed anything.

After a pretty extensive search for house painters we chose Dan. This is the first time I've had to do this and had a lot of questions. I'm sure some were odd but Dan answered them all and never made me feel stupid for asking. His price was very competitve and he was very patient while I figured out my color combinations. The work was done promptly, professionally and I am exceptionally pleased. There was minimal damage to the plants around the house and I was expecting a lot more I will be using Dan again. Oh and one more thing I think is very important....we didn't get a single complaint from our neighbors. Dans team was very professional.

Dan was punctilious about ensuring that I got the paint matched in time for him to order his paint. The vanguard of the team turned up at 7.30 in the morning, they finished on schedule, including doing touchups I wanted and had forgotten to ask for. Excellent work and they didn't destroy my garden nor did they get paint on the new deck that was being installed. I will use them when I'm ready to renovate the inside of the house. I had four quotes on this job, Dan's was not the lowest quote, but was the lowest quote that wasn't stupidly low - I felt he was pricing competitively but not out of desperation.

Muir Painting was painting the exterior of our neighbors' house. We liked the way the painting crew worked. Dan Muir was onsite so we asked for an estimate. We said OK. Within several days the power washer came and cleaned 10 years worth of dirt off the house. The experienced painting crew did the job in two days, cleaning up thoroghly after each day. We were highly pleased with the results. We will use them for interior work in the future.

First off, I'm extremely picky when it comes to others working on my house. (I would have painted it myself except that I'm getting too old for second-story work.) I have a lot of experience with painting, having worked my way through college in the trade and then spent 17 years as a property claims adjuster. I've worked with good contractors, and I've seen the damage caused by amateurs. Dan Muir is as professional as they come. He was easy to reach, he followed through with his commitments/appointments, and he was willing to invest the time to discuss all phases of the job with me. He complied with my requests, which included a 48-hour drying period between pressure washing and painting and the use of a specific brand and grade of paint. The work was done when he promised and with no interruption to my household. In fact, I never even had a chance to meet Dan face-to-face; that's how fast he works. One small scrap of masking paper, a piece of masking tape, and a short length of rope were the only signs his crew had even been at my house ... apart from a great paint job, of course. When I arrived home, I checked over the paint coverage and application with a fine-tooth comb and found nothing whatsoever unsatisfactory. The price was right in line with what I'd estimated it to be before the start of the project, and Dan's was the lowest of three bids I obtained. Muir Painting has earned my respect and endorsement.

I called for an estimate and the same day Dan personally came out to our house to give us the estimate. He was very thorough and explained in detail how his crew would paint our house and how we go about getting a paint match done. The following week one of his crew cleaned and pressure washed the siding. Two weeks later a crew of 5 people showed up at 7am and were finished with the whole job at 3:30pm. Before they left, my wife and I inspected the house and found 2 little spots they missed on the gutters and they immediately touched those spots up. They did an excellent job and I would highly recommend them and would use them again.

We saw Dan Muir and set up the plan. We did have to call him to get things started. A week later, they powerwashed the house. Not long after that, the crew arrived to paint the house, including lots of trim. They were pleasant, efficient and very hard workers. They had to use 2 different colors. My Muir wanted to add $100 for the front door and storm door, due to the intricacy and the color. We decided to do those two doors ourselves. They cleaned up well, too. We feel it looks amazing, thanks to our good color choices and their amazing work. We will hire them again.

Owner came out to do inspection and provide quote. Initial team that came on first day did an amazing amount of work but communication after the fact seemed poor. People sent out to finish up the job seemed unaware of amount of work left to do, didn't come prepared with proper equipment and didn't appear to be in communication with the boss about the issues. Ultimately the owner came and did what needed to be done to complete the job right. I would absolutely recommend this company. UPDATE - It's been over a year since painting and it still looks great!!! 9/26/12

We are waiting on getting all of the funds together so we can have Muir Painting paint the exterior of our Oregon City Property.

Excellent paint job at a competitive price. The house looks like new again. The work was done in a professional and timely manner. From start to finish it took Dan Muir and his crew just two days to complete. This was the most painless exterior paint job we have ever experienced. Would use this company again.

They were great. They were straightforward, quick and clean, and I had no complaints. I don’t know how their price would compare with others, but it seemed fine to me. They were very responsive. I would rate them highly and would use them again in the future if necessary.

Muir Painting painted my parents home last month and they came so highly recommended we decided to get a bid from them as well. They were not only the best price but the work they did was wonderful. Both my house and my parent's house look great. The crew got the job done in just one day, they were very friendly and easy to work with and they did a great job cleaning up the job afterward. I will definitely be referring their business to people and using them again in the future!

This company is a well-oiled machine! This is obviously a crew of experienced guys that have worked well together for a while. Painting the house could never be less painless than this experience was. They pressure washed the house about a week prior to the job. On the day they painted, I left for work and when I came home they were packing up and the house was finished. I walked the perimeter hoping to catch anything they missed before they left. There was NOTHING; No missed spots, no drips, no overspray, no spills, no accidents, no mess, nothing. The neighbors were amazed and delighted that the neighborhood was back to normal by 5PM. I thought the price was very reasonable and I am completely satisfied with the quality of the work.

Overall I am pleased with the quality of the work. The pricing was fair considering the size of the jobs. The crews showed up on schedule and worked steadily. I would hire Muir Painting in the future should I need more painting done.

They were prompt, professional and skilled. We were amazed that they were able to complete the painting and clean up in one day. (Arrived at 7:30 am and left at 4 pm).

I called Dan for a quote based on his reviews on Angie's List reviews and the advice of two of my co-workers who used Muir Painting. Dan came out to the house while I was not here and left me a quote. He followed up with a phone call and gave me a lot of good information. I was on my way out of town, but Dan kept in touch with me, which I appreciated. His quote was the lowest of the few I got, and I felt that he was very professional and I am sure he would have done a great job. I did end up selecting a different contractor in the end, as you can only pick one person to do the work, but I would (and already have!) recommend Muir Painting as my experience with them was a good one.

The whole experience was extremely positive, from beginning to end. We called Dan Muir for an estimate, after seeing Muir Painting signs around our area. Dan responded promptly and was able to meet with us and give an estimate right away. We decided to get 2 additional estimates, which took some time. Dan called several times and was always available to answer our questions. Once awarded the job, work was begun within a week. Everyone on the 4-man team was punctual, professional and courteous. I was impressed with the level of respect given to my home by everyone on the team. The whole job was completed within 3 days, which was way beyond my expectations. At one point there was a miscommunication about trim/door painting on the interior. The issue was resolved to our complete satisfaction without any drama or additional expense to us. I would definitely use Muir Painting again, and have no hesitation in recommending the company to others.

It was time to paint my home so I did my research, checking Angie's list and asking friends for recommendations. I called four contractors and Dan was the first one to call back. He scheduled a time that was convenient for me, after work, and showed up right on time. He explained his whole process and gave me a quote for the labor and materials before he left. The next contractor wouldn't even give me a quote because he said he couldn't do the work for what Dan quoted me. I received two other bids, one about the same as Dan's and one that was twice as much. I decided to go with Dan because of his professionalism. I wasn't in a hurry to get my home painted, but we got lucky with the weather and Dan scheduled my job the first sunny day in April. When I left my home in the morning it was a pale sad faded yellow and when I returned home later that afternoon, it was a beautiful bright cheery freshly painted yellow. Dan's crew did a fabulous job. They arrived right on time and cleaned up after the job was done. I've recommended Dan to a colleague and would recommend him to you, the reader, as well.

The trim on our 15 year old home was pealing off and badly needed to be repainted. We had multiple quotes for the project from ranging from $800 to $3800. We have a 3 story house with trim up to 30 feet above ground so it is probably more difficult than most. Went with Muir based on their Angieslist rating and reviews and was not disappointed. Quote to completion tool less than 2 weeks and the house looks very nice. The Muir painting crew was a pleasure to work with.

Muir Painting did an excellent job. From start to finish they were very professional and extremely friendly. The price was very fair for the work that they did. The actual work performed was top quality! I will definitely use them again and again!

I would definitely recommend them. He was very pu8nctual and gave me a fair price, looking back I am sorry I didn't use him. I really wanted to go with him, but I was persuaded to go with someone else. After I had the work done I did ask Muir to come and evaluate in his professional opinion what he thought. He did it in a very professional way, he was straight up and didn't under cut the competition. I appreciated that, one more reason why I said to him "Why didn't I go with you?" He didn't have to come out, he did it on his own with no charge, that was above and beyond the call.

I called Dan's office a few days before July 4th weekend and left a message to see if he was interested in giving me a bid. Dan called back within a day. He told me he was going out of town, but as the house was empty, asked if it would be okay to drive by and got me the estimate, which is what he did very quickly. I got his estimate in the mail and I called him to discuss it. My house (which I had just purchased) was in very bad shape and overdue for a painting. Dan and I discussed the bid, and I agreed to it. He told me to get my colors picked and then called at the end of the week and told me he could paint the house the following Monday! All told, the transaction took about 10 days, from start to finish! He and his crew were very respectful of my yard and the neighbors. They had all the work done in 1 day and the house looks beautiful. There was a lot of sanding, patching and priming involved and they did an excellent job.

They didn't get the job. The experience was swell except for the number they gave me.

It still looks good. We have used them for many years on our house. They are professional and do a great job.
