As before with previous work done by Absolute Temp Control, I wish there was a higher rating than 5. 2 days ago the air conditioning in the house stopped working. The Portland area has been enduring a series of 90-100 degree F days. John came out within ~1 hour of when I called. Turns out the HVAC unit is ~20 years old and on its last legs. John replaced the thermostat and fixed the wheezing HVAC’s other maladies. There are three of us formerly sweating humans and 2 no longer panting dogs here and we are all grateful to Absolute Temp Control for their speedy repair.

Our air conditioner is getting close to the age where it needs to be replaced, so it’s starting have problems. Right now Portland Area is enduring a heat wave (~90F), so of course, it broke down. John helped me last year so I called him. He responded ASAP. He quickly found the problem and fixed it. Now my dog and I are sitting in a cool house. John knows his stuff, is quite friendly, and very professional.

John did an excellent job. I very much liked working with him. He’s extremely responsive and did excellent work and was easy to work with. He runs a small shop and so when you call the number you talk to John. I plan to use him again when and if we have future HVAC issues.

John is a gentleman and a professional in his trade. He performed the work professionally, promptly and neatly. It was a big job as there were 3 units of Heating and AC, some located in difficult to reach locations. He updated ductwork as well as a work platform in one area, so it’ll be easier to maintain in the future too. I would recommend John for for any job as he is very conscientious. I did not rate the pricing of this as I did not price-compare shop. I expected that it would be competitive and John provided some pricing consideration for the multiple units. Again, seems like a great guy. The inspector said the work looked excellent to him too.

John gave us prompt service when a tenant's furnace died right before Christmas. He was able to come the same day, on a Friday and determine that the 23 year old furnace had given up the ghost. He gave us the Angie's List discount and didn't charge extra even though the job required more of his time and labor than expected. The extra work included replacing the thermostat, as it was old and not very accurate, and he reconnected a main duct behind the furnace that was disconnected which led up to the second floor, plus he installed a volume damper which allows you to close/open/adjust air volume to the upper floor. Our tenant appreciated the heat coming back on so quickly.

I had just posted my house for sale when the AC decided to stop working. I opened Angie's List ready to call all the local HVAC companies to find out which one could come soonest. We already have a showing tonight and didn't want the house to feel like a sauna. I explained this to John, and though he said he was booked out for weeks, he said he'd try to shift things around to get to me by 2PM. He called at 10AM and said he could be here in 30 minutes. He was very professional and pleasant to talk to and work with. He quickly found the problem and had the parts available so he was able to make repairs immediately. I appreciate that he explained how the original installers could have done a better job with the drain line which would have prevented the cause of our outage. He then proceeded to redo the drain line the right way. Would gladly hire Absolute Temp Control again.

I wish there was a higher rating than “A” because I would give it to Absolute Temp Control. As I write this the Portland Area is suffering a heat wave. My outside unit broke and I called Absolute Temp Control. John the president of the company said he was backed up for a couple of weeks on calls, but would try to get to me if he could. He called the next day about 730 pm and said he had just finished a job in the neighborhood and wondered if I still needed help. I said “Yes!” John was at my house within five minutes. He checked my entire AC system and determined that a capacitor in the outside motor (fan) was not working. He replaced the capacitor and now my dog and me are sitting in a cool house! John also took about 20 minutes explaining to me how to maintain the AC unit (how to replace air filter, importance of a clean filter, where the various or ducts go to in the house, etc). Can’t say enough good things about John!

Working with Absolute Temp Control was so smooth and easy! They provided a free estimate, and were able to quickly install our AC unit, which runs beautifully. John was very friendly, professional, and answered all my questions. When the County inspector came out to do the final inspection, the inspector said, "Wow, I wish all installations were done this well! It'd make my job so much easier!" I would highly recommend Absolute Temp Control and look forward to working with them for all my furnace and AC needs in the future.

My furnace motor failed and was quoted $ to get it temporary fixed. With the age of the home, I choose to update the furnace, thermostat, and heat pump. I was on business trip and was unable to attend to the needs of my family. Yet John, came to the rescue. He came by quoted me the prices. Rapidly sent me information on my options, and gave me an install timeline. I ordered new system through John, as time was of the essence to keep my family warm. He overnighted the the Heat pump and furnace, and showed up the next morning on time to install. By 2pm that day he had completed all the install and we had heat again, with a new updated system. I am not easily impressed by contractors, however John and his team at Absolute Temp Control went way above the call of duty. I can find no fault in anything they did, and would HIGHLY recommend their services. They are honest, quick, and prompt. They communicate extremely well, and even registered our products for us.

I had a great experience working with John Sandu, President of Absolute Temp Control. If you need your furnace repaired, and aren't sure who to trust, don't worry, this man is exactly the kind of person you want. Yesterday my furnace stopped working. I called him this morning, explained that yesterday I smelled something that smelled like burning coming from the furnace outlets, and then it stopped entirely. I thought the motor was fried or something serious had happened and I was in for an expensive repair. He managed to work me in today, and he came out, took a look, found a fried capacitor, repaired it in 10 minutes, and was on his way. It was a very inexpensive repair - no games from this guy. I have had bad experiences with others in this business, and I had to make several calls before I decided to go with Absolute Temp Control. I am so glad I did, and next time I need help w Furnace or A/C, there is only one number I am sure I can call for a fast, fair, quality repair. I absolutely recommend John Sandu.
