Fabulous work! Paul Eang and his crew were professional, punctual, and detail-oriented. They worked rapidly and efficiently, and every day cleaned up completely after themselves. A couple of small follow-up items were taken care of swiftly. Very reasonably priced. For the size of the project, the HOA Board was impressed with their nearly error-free work. Would certainly hire them again, and would recommend them for any painting job.

His opinions on our house were not the same as any of the other painters. He thought the lap-siding had been caulked. The rest just said it was heavy layers of paint. He also wanted to install a wedge-vent system that would cost $2K. None of other painters agreed with that idea. I have no idea who is right or wrong, but in the end we went with a different painter.

I started my search on Angie's List and contacted (3) painters in my area with the highest grade. After the 3 bids came in, I chose Paul Eng of Sunshine Painting. Paul and Samantha were very accommodating with our schedules. My wife and I are expecting a baby this summer and we wanted to get our house painted before the new baby arrived. The overall work took about 4 days of painting + 1 day of power washing. Our overall experience was very positive. Our painting crew consisted of 3 senior painters. I found out that they have been working for Sunshine Painting for over 3 years. The team lead, Angel, also spoke English. My wife and I appreciated the fact that it was the same three painters that we said Good Morning and Good Night to for those five days. Angel and his crew were very professional, respectful and polite. We checked in with him every morning before leaving for work and he would tell us what they were going to work on that morning. In hindsight, the most stressful part of the whole process was going to our local paint store and trying to find an exact match for our existing house colors. Overall we are very pleased with the services and work provided by Paul Eng and his crew at Sunshine Painting. We would recommend his company for your next exterior paint job. Thank you.

I was very happy with Sunshine Painting. Their work was very good, the crew was fast & friendly, and the end product looked great. Did I mention that the price was far lower than other quotes we got, too? Would recommend to all. Paul and Co. were very flexible with scheduling around some extensive dry rot issues we ran into after we had some paint removed.

The representative came out to my home and surveyed the house. He then presented us with a very reasonable estimate, that was 1500.00 cheaper than other companies. He was very thorough in explaining the job and provided my husband and I with a list of references just in case we wanted to check the company's reputation. We are looking forward to having the service done.

THEY WERE VERY PROFESSIONAL, AND THEY WERE TIMELY, THEY HAD ALL THEIR PROOF OF INSURANCE, THEY KEPT THEIR WORD TO THE ESTIMATE, THEY CLEANED UP AFTER THEMSELVES, THEY DIDN'T BREAK ANYTHING, THE QUALITY OF THE WORK WAS GOOD. IT WAS HASSLE FREE.

Darren and his crew spent two full days painting my home. Their attention to detail was incredible. Several of my neighbors have already commented on how great the house looks and are using Sunshine Painting to paint their homes as well. Great Job!

They did a very good job. They were very reasonably priced; they came in substantially under other contractors. They did extra work, and always showed up on time. Sunshine Painting was very polite and courteous, and they always returned my phone calls. For the price, they did a very good job.

My house looks great. Paul-from sunshine painting was very professional, we have a small ranch house & I know this was a small job for him. Paul still treated us with a lot of respect & it was obvious he cared about this job and wanted nothing but the best for us. The painters from Sunshine painting were wonderful, very nice guys.

The bid was good and Paul Eang seemed professional and knowledgeable, but he was difficult to get a hold of when I had problems. I feel that Paul misrepresented his company. The initial bid included a demonstration of safe lead based paint removal using a portable heater and scrapers. The EPA and State of Oregon regulate safe removal of lead based paint. No machine sanding is allowed unless used with a HEPA exhaust system. I was provided a copy of Paul Eang's certificate from HUD/NARI Lead Remodelers training. I have no knowledge of his workers certificates. EPA states heat guns are allowed at temperatures below 750 degrees. After speaking with persons at the Lead training offices it was determined that the heaters Paul's workers used exceeded those temperatures, because I could smell noxious fumes from the melting paint. Additionally any paint chips were to be disposed of according to EPA guidelines and not left on the property. Paul did not inspect the work of his employees and informed me they were fired when he was out in November 2007 for repairs. During the initial bid Paul also demonstrated scraping the lap siding where boards meet to allow air in and prevent moisture build up. This was not presented as an additional cost nor is it included anywhere on the original contract as an option. I was under the impression that it was part of the original bid. Within 6 months of completion the paint was bubbling and peeling and filling up with large amounts of moisture. It appeared that no prep work was done except on the south side and part of the east side. They painted on top of flaking paint. The spackle they used cracked and split. Paul's workers didn't do some of the things specified in the contract, including caulking to 2nd floor dormer and most windows. Old dried 3/4 inch pieces of caulk were falling out where the upper dormer met the chimney. I paid a masonry professional to remedy that situation in March 2008. In February 2008 Paul said he would make necessary repairs and he has not contacted me. He fired the subs he originally had do the work, they painted the gutters, foundation, spattered paint on the roof and some of the windows, also on the front door. During the bid process Paul explained the importance of not completely sealing the lap siding but allowing places for any moisture to vent. None of this was done except to areas he came out to fix in November 2007. As a result there is moisture damage. Too many things were just not done right.

They had fair prices, did excellent work and were wonderful to work with.

Great job. Paul, the owner, is professional and nice. He promptly mailed me an estimate after meeting with me. Once I chose them and when weather permitted, he did the pressure washing and two of his employees did the caulking, scraping and painting. His employees were friendly and courteous and did a great job on a house that's difficult to paint - 3 stories tall. They were also amazing tapers! Not a speck of paint anywhere it wasn't supposed to be. They spent a lot of time on the scraping and caulking, and than painted on two coats. I really felt that they did a great job and that I got a good value.

Excellent. Paul communicated with us on a regular basis. We hired Sunshine painting as rainy season arrived and feared we they wouldn't get to us before the full winter season hit. However, with a break in the rain, Paul called and gave us the good news that they'd be starting. They had to do color matching with a custom color from the house's previous owner and matched it perfectly. They worked on the weekends to get things done before the rain came back. At one point, Paul's crew was down one worker so Paul came out and worked with the group a few of the days. They did an excellent job. They were clean and courteous.

Paul moved his schedule around to meet with us at a convenient time to prepare a quote. He was very patient in hearing our various ideas, and gave us some hints and tips that were very useful. Darrin worked HARD for a full day at prepping the siding and trim before painting, as our initial paint job (about 3-4 years old) had not been done well and had already chipped in many places. As promised, he put his equipment away every evening, and cleaned everything at the end of the job. The house looks GREAT and we're so glad that we repainted and that we used Sunshine!

I'm an extremely picky, demanding person, much, much more than other people I know or have dealt with. I'm extremely satisfied with Paul's people (Kim, Jose & Diego). Kim was excellent in keeping me in the loop, suggesting solutions for the problems she discovered with my rented house (holes in the garage door, painting peel on the chimney stack, etc). He has a fine team and they appear very happy to work with him( an important train in good/hard workers). I'll definitely hire them again.

Responded quickly to request for quote. Stayed in contact regarding scheduling when weather change presented a challenge. Did great job of protecting everything from overspray and cleaning up after job. When requesting some touch ups they responded timely.

Paul sent me a detailed written bid two days after he'd initially inspected my house. He later increased the bid by phone when I decided to have additional work done. He was always easily accessible by phone and always pleasant. Considering the rainy weather, I was pleased that the crew worked on the weekend during a dry period. The crew were very careful with their protective coverings, and my house ended up looking neat. My only problem is that I'd assumed that they would sand the rough edges after they scraped (and also the rough edges from my earlier incomplete prep work). But I found, once they'd started to paint, that they didn't sand, and I expressed concern. That day they went back over loose places. And the following day, (on a Sunday morning), I was able to speak with Paul on the phone. He was committed to customer satisfaction and so instructed the crew, who then sanded and repainted all rough spots. I learned that I should speak up beforehand and not assume anything.

Paul waked completely around the house. He was professional and thorough. Gave me a folder with recommendations and good information on how to check on background of contractor. I went with someone else because, of the 4 estimates, his was the highest. He would not be able to schedule me for a month-that would be middle of October before work could start. He suggested A 100 (as did two other contractors). I realize now stain was the proper application.

Paul was very professional. He was very prompt in coming to our home and giving us an estimate. His estimate was very reasonable, so we hired him for the job. He came out and pressure washed the entire house and then his crew returned a week or so later to take care of the painting. They sanded and primed all the areas that needed it and then painted. They did a very nice job.

The price may seem high, but this was a challenging and complex project. The price was actually extremely reasonable. We had to work against all the September and October rain. The crew was efficient, friendly, and only painted when they knew it would go well. They paid attention to every detail, worked with me to custom order paint from Ohio (California Paint), and even offered to come back after the gutters are replaced to touch up. They started exactly when they said they would and worked some Saturdays when the weather cleared. Whenever it wasn't raining, they'd work until it got dark. I've never worked with a better crew.

Sunshine Painting did a great job painting my house. They were professional, courteous and the house looks great! I would definitely use Sunshine Painting again.
