Overall, my experience with Paul and Sunshine Painting went very well. Paul was prompt with a bid. The work was well done and happened *pretty much* when they said it would. I only dinged Sunshine Painting a little on promptness, because they ended up starting a couple of days later than they told me they would. However, I understand that painting is very dependent on weather conditions and the delay did not detract much from the overall experience. In addition to the main project, we asked Paul to bid on a touch-up job on the main house. His crew had painted the house back in 2007 and some of the paint had blistered. Paul explained to me that the blistering was due to some incorrect prep work (that his crew did not perform). Although we were past warranty, Paul did the touch-up on the house at no extra charge. We are very happy with the result. The auxiliary structure looks like a carriage-house garage that matches the house. Paul's crew did a great job with it, and it was very reasonably priced. And the house itself looks great after the touch-up.

From the beginning with the estimate Paul and Samantha were courteous, attentive to detail, forthcoming and accurate in their planning and accomodating to my needs to delay the job because I would be out of town. Their crew members are pleasant and hard clean workers. They didn't waste any time in getting the job done. Clean up excellent.

The job went fine. We called them back because there were some boards that looked like they needed touch up and they came right back and fixed it. They were very on the ball and attentive to everything. We had an Angie's List coupon and they had forgotten to deduct it. As soon as my husband brought it to their attention, the check was in the mail like that. They seemed to be very attentive and dealt with anything right away. Their price was fine. They were very responsive. I think we would use them again.

Overall it went very well. The summertime is a busy time of year for them, but they were able to fit us in. The owner went above and beyond to help us finish our home projects so that we could get the house on the market. They left one gutter disconnected, but put it back together for me when I mentioned it. I am having them come back to paint some steps as well. I am pleased with the outcome and would use them again. They are very good with their follow through, making sure that I am satisfied.

Paul and his painting team are extremely friendly, courteous, and for the most part professional. For the great low price, they did a fair job. I found it difficult to get all of my questions answered and get information from Sunshine in the months leading up to the actual painting. Yes, I got a response from every email sent, but only one question would be answered when I sent an email asking 3-4. I got the feeling that emails were skimmed quickly. A feeling that was confirmed when we noticed that the paint being used was flat, when we had requested satin. That said, Paul responded immediately when this mistake was pointed out, and after chatting with me about this error in person, he went immediately to the paint store to correct the situation. Everything painted to that point with flat was repainted with satin, at no extra charge of course. The prepping of the surfaces to be painted was just OK. Areas that were scraped were never sanded; yes, state law prohibits power sanding of houses with lead paint, but these were surfaces that were scraped down to wood, and then some old wood scraped away. There are many rough surfaces that were simply painted over. There were many gaps and holes that were unfilled. Granted, it's a 1905 house with lots and lots of imperfections and many many gaps and holes were filled, just not all. I was surprised that Paul did not do a final walk around with me upon completion of the job. However, I went through a long list of areas needing attention with his lead painter (paint spills to be cleaned, crooked edging to be straightened, gaps to be filled, rough surfaces to be redone, etc). Everything I pointed out was attended to, and everything I pointed out was met with a friendly and professional "ok, no problem", even though it amounted to an extra 3-4 hours of work when they thought they were done. As we have lived with the finished job for a week now, I have noticed more areas that I would have pointed out if I had seen them at the time. I was surprised by how much would have been missed if I hadn't pointed it out. The reasons for not saying the team was completely professional are as follows: the job site was left very messy at the end of each day, and I went around picking up trash from the work as well as from the lunch breaks nightly. There are spilled paint marks left on my brick patio as well. Also, 75% of our plants were broken, crushed, stepped on or otherwise damaged by the team. I am used to Mike Andreyuk of ReCraft Home ReModeling who I have used for several projects. He and his team left the work site immaculate each and every night. If a low price is your first priority, Sunshine is the way to go.

I could not be more happy with the results. Paul and his crew were professional from start to finish. My house looks beautiful, they cleaned up every day and were very respectful of my property. I have an older house (100 years old) and there have been some odd choices with where trim has been installed over the years. They did a great job working with me to be sure that I got thing painted the color I wanted them. They were on time and communicated with me clearly. I couldn't be happier with the job they did and I won't even consider calling anyone else in the future. I will defnitely be a repeat customer.

Paul is very prompt and thorough. Price was competitve. Painters were polite and cleaned up job site well.

Paul did a good job providing a reasonable estimate and options to use better grades of paint for additional charge. I think his crew does a very good job painting. There were a few small items that Paul ensured was corrected. The only issue I have with Sunshine Painting is the communication. I work and have a dog. Leaving the dog in the house is an issue so it would have helped if this company communicated better what days they planned to come out. It's a minor issue compared to the great work and reasonable charge - I would use this company again.

After receiving several quotes from positively rated AL painters, we decided on Sunshine. Major factors included pricing, professionalism, and photos of previous work. Once the agreement was provided, along with a down payment, I started to question my decision based on their lack of responsiveness. After a few weeks of nothing, had to call them to find out when we scheduled. Would have preferred to hear back more quickly, even if I was just told a ballpark date, understanding it has been a rainy summer. Once we were queued up the communication improved. Workers were on-site when advised and professional. Best of all, beside a great paint job, area was left clean and undamaged.

I couldn't be happier with the work done the repaint my old house by Sunshine Painting. It looks terrific now. Manual and Freddie showed up at 8am every morning like clockwork, and cleaned up carefully after themselves every day. Manual communicated well with me and made sure to answer any questions I had. I was very impressed with how conscientious and thorough they were. My next door neighbor called them "meticulous." The job entailed removing almost all the existing paint from the cedar siding, to prevent future peeling and bubbling, a chronic problem since we've owned the house for 20+years. Paul explained the process to me when he came out to do the bidding. They completed the job just as he described from the start. They followed the lead paint regulations carefully. I was also satisfied with the pace of the work.

Committments kept per contract. Initially we were not completely satisfied with front door. Paul's team returned and reworked the door to our satisfaction.

Overall it was a smooth experience. Paul gave his quote very promptly. He then came over that weekend to confirm. The job was started on Monday with power wash and clean. The two guys that came to paint the house were given clear instructions. They were polite and did their jobs in a very professional manner. The painting process lasted two days. They did their two coats on day 1 and then the trim on day 2. They crew cleaned up daily after they were done. After the job was complete, I did a walk through with no issues. I would definitely recommend them to my friends. Their overall quality and responsiveness was good. Their prices were competitive, and the angie's list coupon they had just made the deal sweeter.

Despite the difficulties of painting a cedar shingled house, Paul and his crew did a wonderful job. They were on time, performed exactly what was promised and cleaned up properly.

I hired a diiferent painter who contacted me immediately.

Paul and I walked around the house and he told me the entire process his crew would use if they were selected for the job. My badly weathered west wall has some cracked boards, and Paul suggested that it might be better to replace all the siding on that wall--this was a $3600 option that none of the other 3 contractors thought was needed. Paul's quote came by email but I had some difficulty understanding the form and had to call to be walked through it. Sunshine Painting was the only contractor to include options for different grades of paint--the other 3 contractors only quoted for top of the line paint. The price was a fair amount lower than the other quotes I got.

Fantastic experience from start to finish! Paul came out on a Sunday morning to give us a quote and was very professional. Took time to look over the house and answered all our questions. He had a catalog of previous projects that he showed us and explained the entire process so we had a good idea what to expect once the work started. His quote was very reasonable, but a little above our budget, so we asked if he could give us some discount. Best answer I?ve heard in a long time; ?Yes Sir, not an issue?. With a seasonal and AngiesList discount we were able to get the same work within our budget. The house looks great! I would highly recommend their services.

Professional, efficient, polite, cleaned up every day. Worked a long day. Only negative was because of lead paint they were reluctant to sand or grind.

Paul and his crew are excellent. The work was done to perfection and the job site was left neat and clean. Sunshine painting is the best in town..you can't go wrong if you use them...they are great.

Paul is very professional and easy to work with. They did a great job overall, but there was one somewhat stressful day when the crew didn't show up and it was a critical day to get the paint on before a storm was coming. It took several phone messages to find out that one of the guys had called in sick. But after this unexpected delay and a few days of rain, the weather improved and they finished up the job well. It was a tricky time of year for exterior painting, and it ended up working out fine.

They were very meticulous, very agreeable to work with, and fairly priced!
