This rating is based upon my current-day experience. The phone number on my contract is no longer working nor is the phone number shown at Angie's List so I cannot contact this company. They show as a certified Milgard installer but the phone number at the Milgard web site is also disconnected. In 2007 before joining Angie's List I wanted to install Milgard windows and visited showrooms of two companies. One never called for an appointment and one came but never called back with a quote or explanation that they could not do the work. A third company was referred by another contractor doing work for me. He also came to look at the work but never returned a quote. Finally, I went to a home remodeling show to request help directly from the Milgard factory sales persons who referred me to Oregon Window and Door. The representative who came to the house was prompt, responsive and professional. Unfortunately, before my work was completed he no longer worked for Oregon Window and Door. I was assured that only company employees would do all installations. The installer said he did not understand that because he was an independent sub-contractor, gave me his business card, and suggested I call him directly, not Oregon Window and Door, when I wished to replace my remaining windows which was the rest of my large house. Very unprofessional. After the windows were installed the basement walls were painted with waterproofing materials. Over the years water continued to leak, seemingly through the basement wall during the winter. I spent thousands with a basement waterproofing company yet when the painters started to scrape to repaint, underneath the old waterproofing the wall was soaking wet. After many Angie's List A-rated tradesmen of differing specialties (waterproofing, drainage, masonry) assessed the situation and suggested solutions, the water leakage persisted during winter storms--the windows are on the south side and unprotected. Finally, the mason suggest that perhaps the windows were the problem. Unable to contact Oregon Window and Door, I called a company with certified master window installers. They removed and re-installed all three windows and the problem has been solved. They traced the water intrusion which was coming through masonry above, flowing behind the brick to the window opening, and due to the improper window installation had no means of escape back to the exterior so flowed inside under the windows through the window opening. They wrote these comments regarding the original installation: 1. No sealant around existing buck frames. 2. Flexible flashing not lapped correctly. 3. No Z flashing installed on top of trim. 4. Bottom trim on exterior caulked all the way across (no weeps left).
Description of Work: Replaced 3 windows in basement with vinyl windows. Replaced two bedroom windows with wood-clad fiberglass.

I called them and ,they came out to my house, and gave me an estimate, and then when they started doing the windows after they were done they were in backwards and they didn't even clean up after themselves it was a great hassle. The workmen ship was poor and unsupervised.
Description of Work: THEY WERE SUPPOSED TO INSTALL THE WINDOWS BUT THEY PUT THEM IN BACKWARDS.

They did excellent work. We were very happy with their work, and their cost was lower than the other two quotes that we got. You are welcome to come and see the job they did. View my contact info at http://bednark.com
Description of Work: We had all 14 single-pane aluminum windows in our 1970 home replaced with new Milgard double-pane vinyl windows, plus had them add an additional window in the garage. We got 3 quotes, theirs for $9500, plus one for $10,600 and one for $15,000.

THEY SUBCONTRACTED OUT THE WORK, BUT THEIR SUBCON WAS VERY GOOD. CLEAN AND METICULOUS. THEY MADE AN INITIAL MISTAKE ON ORDERING THE WINDOWS (SIZE AND GLASS TYPE), BUT WENT ABOVE AND BEYOND AND FIXED THE PROBLEM WITHOUT ANY COST TO ME.
Description of Work: TEAR OUT OF OLD WINDOWS, INSTALL NEW WINDOWS FOR THE ENTIRE HOUSE, INCLUDING SLIDING DOORS.
