Right away there were major issues with the quality of work performed and the professional manner of the crew and contractor Peter J. Evins at Northstar. Almost immediately it was evident that the crew that was working on my property was not a professional crew with workers showing up on more than one occasion with an underage minor climbing on the roof with his father, crew drinking beers during lunch periods then returning to work on the roof, drinking beer after the work in my backyard on site, never being properly tied off or secured via OSHA compliance and the companies own contract. As a licensed contractor Peter and Northstar should have had a person onsite to supervise and their employees workmanship and behavior. The crew was called to redo or correct work they “Completed” during every step of the installation process. The contractor was also not on site supervising the work even after requesting his presents on site and to verify the quality of the work of his crew several times. Contractor failed to be present on site during work or review any of the crew's work until we, as clients, called or texted pictures of our complaints. I regret ever hiring this company. Having to have daily check-ins with the company in order for the work to be done correctly should not be an expectation, nor was it our responsibility. The lack of transparency, failure to oversee the quality and procedural correctness of the project, the unprofessionalism of the foreman and crew members, as well as the ethical deficiency to not cut corners has resulted in poor quality work and the irreversible damage to this company’s reputation.

The whole project went really well. From the initial response to our phone inquiry, to the assessment and subsequent quote, and finally to the work done, everything was top-notch professionalism. The folks at the admin level (tip of the hat to Ali), and the crew lead by Antonio, all were super polite and friendly. They worked together like a well-knit family and got everything in on schedule. The final product was as advertised an they left the job site in pristine condition. This is a super outfit and I highly recommend them without reservation.

It went well. The crew showed up at the expected time, and got right to work.They found some bad plywood I was unaware of and replaced it as needed. The job did cost a bit more that expected, but the price was fare, we agreed on it before proceeding, and the work was done right. They cleaned everything up so well, other than the new roof, there were no signs they had even been here. Overall, very satisfied with the job and will highly recommend their service to family and friends.

These guys installed a new metal roof on our home + it was hands down the best construction experience we've ever had. The owner spent a lot of time with me at our initial meeting talking through strategies to fix our leaking roof. I felt really informed about our options without pressure to make a decision. We ended up going with a full metal roof installation, as they were really cost competitive + have a great reputation. The crew was top notch! They worked long days, were very professional, + had excellent attention to detail. They finished ahead of schedule, completely cleaned up the job site, + our metal roof looks absolutely perfect.

Working with North Star was very pleasant. I went with them not because they were the cheapest, but because their sales estimator was very honest and actually took the time to sit down with me and teach me about all the "ins and outs" of roofing and contractors. Ali was always very pleasant on the phone, and got back to me whenever I called. DEFINITELY would use these guys again
