What you can't see can hurt you. Dust, dirt, pollen, animal dander and other airborne contaminants are pulled into your duct system every time your
furnace or air conditioner runs. These contaminants build up inside the duct work
over time and make your duct system a ideal breeding ground for mold spores, bacteria, fungus, mildew, and other microbes.
When the furnace or air conditioner is turned on, these contaminants are spewed
out and circulated throughout your home and affect the health and comfort of your
family. Family members who suffer from allergies, asthma or other respiratory
ailments as well as children and the elderly are especially vulnerable to the effects
of indoor air pollutants.

We hired Carlson to come out and clean the ducts in our new house. I was a bit skeptical at first, but after seeing what these guys pulled out of our ducts (a box of crayons, an old sneaker!!, etc, etc) I'm glad we called. Curt was professional and communicative and even fixed one of our vents for us at no charge. Overall a great job.

This company was asked to arrive and clean our furnace ducts after our old gas furnace was removed, and before the new gas furnace was installed the same day. They cooperated fully with the furnace installers. They are extremely clean and neat, and know exactly what to do; they are obviously quite experienced. They use a large power-vacuum truck which stays outside on the road, with large soft pipes running from the truck into our house. Our 46-year-old furnace ducting, with 3 air intakes and 13 registers, had never been cleaned, and it was a tough job to remove the dust, sawdust and other debris, bugs, etc. that they found. They carefully laid tarps over all our flooring - tile and carpet - on which their pipes were then laid, and they cleaned up beautifully after their work was done. We surprised them with an extra request to move our clothes dryer and clean that ducting also, and they cheerfully did so, finding such ducting fully impacted and quite a fire hazard, now all clean. They were quick as well as thorough, cooperating with our furnace installers. Carlson Power-Vac is a thoroughly professional company, and we recommend them without reservation.
Description of Work: Cleaned 46-year-old gas furnace ducts, never before cleaned. Also cleaned clothes dryer ducting at our request, which they had not expected.

It was great! Curt is the owner and he was there the entire time. He made me feel very comfortable and at ease. There was no mess afterward. He was very nice. Carlson Power Vac has been open for more than 20 years. They have been family owned and operated from the beginning. He even has his teenage daughters answering the phones and working. They are great people who did a great job. Last year i had Sears come and do it and they were horrible. Nothing compares to what Carlson Power Vac does. Their prices were fair for the quality of work. I will have him come back in a few years to do it again. He helped me understand every step of the way. He even showed me before and after of the furnace!.

I used this company on 1-23-07. I am VERY UNHAPPY with the work done. When the job was finished, I was left with filthy ducts and patched furnace. An access hole had been cut into my furnace by this company, then patched with sheet metal and duct tape. There were balls of hair, dirt, dead bugs, and rodent feces left in at least two ducts. Others have a dirty film coating the ducting still. I had spoken to a representative at Carlson Power-Vac to get information PRIOR to hiring them; the possibility of cutting a hole in the sheet metal of my furnace was never mentioned to me. I was not present when they were through with the work and unfortunately, they were paid without anyone having checked the quality of this work. I am reluctant to have them back to do the job right; the time and energy getting furniture moved and covered before they arrive, then cleaning up the dead bugs and tons of dust after they leave.
Description of Work: I paid $279 for air ducts (10 out-take registers, 2 in-takes) in my 1400 square foot home to be cleaned. Itemized, the charges were: $11.25 per register, $170 for the hook-up fee, "no charge" for the "access panel installed", and a 10% discount. Prior to the work being done, the 10% discount was negotiated for having two houses on my street for them to service, mine and my neighbor's.
