My check to them cleared my bank account, but I had still not heard from them after a week for scheduling. After my persistence I got a Monday a few weeks away. Upon that day, they called to cancel as their crew was in an accident. No injuries, thank goodness. Well, they rescheduled for Wednesday same week, they pinned down 11 am or before if they could. Again, I cleared my schedule and I waited, and waited... ALL DAY. No one called or showed up. I called the office and left a message. No return. I called the office the next day and the foreman was put on the phone with me. His apology was laced with excuses. I didn't feel valued. He got angry because I was complaining and frustrated. He confessed he had rescheduled me to the following Monday and didn't call. I admit, I was mad, but didn't use any fowl language. He tried to reschedule for the following Monday, but as the conversation continued he yelled at me that I had "crossed his boundary by being too upset" and was sending my check back to me (which they had already deposited) and would not do the work. After a day of reflection I called the office again and the older gentleman was very kind and a real pro. He asked if he could facilitate from his end. Finally someone who knew how to treat a customer! But I didn't hear back all day. I sent an email saying that I needed to know one way or the other by the end of that business day. No response. I didn't know if they were going to break the contract or not! I sent a final email Friday morning first thing, requesting they respond that the contract was moot, and that they would refund my deposit. I got a quick response from the older gentleman, but it had no information about the company's intentions. He said he'd forward the emails to the foreman (I suppose?) They owe me $1651.00.
Description of Work: This was a second hire. The first time them working at my late mother's estate and it went great. I thought they'd be the perfect ones to hire again for my home. The job was to be complete redo of my home's floor insulation, vapor barrier and insulate pipes. They insisted I pay half before they would even schedule. I did. As time went by I sent their bid to my insurance company for a claim on the animal damage that had caused all of this. During that interim, I received their check for the over deductible amount based on SO. OR. IN. bid. I sat on that check waiting for the job to be scheduled.

Description of Work: They came to give me an energy assessment and quote energy saving updates to my home. As I researched the brand of materials they proposed using and got additional estimates, I realized that the materials were the lowest quality products on the market and the labor costs were quite high. After I indicated to the estimator that I was looking into the products he proposed and wasn't happy with the choices, several weeks went by before I heard from him again. I asked for warranty information on the various materials, a couple weeks ago now, and haven't heard back at all. At this point I wouldn't hire them in any case. He also advocated adding roofing to an existing roof, rather than tearing off and reroofing, even though I told him I believed there to be two layers of shingles already on the roof. I happen to know that it's against building code to do that.

Description of Work: They installed spray foam insulation in the crawl space of our home. It's a very small cramped space with lots of duct work. Neither my husband or I can get down there to see the job they did, but I can already tell a difference with having insulation again.

Their service was excellent. However, a few months later I called a couple times with some additional questions, and they never returned my calls. That was somewhat of a disappointment. Later I did speak with them (on another matter), and they said they had tried to call me but my voice mail box was full. Well, my voice mail box was never full. Could they have called the wrong number by mistake? Giving them the benefit of the doubt, I'm upgrading them to a and quot;Band quot; with respect to Responsiveness. Note: They are an approved contractor by the Energy Trust of Oregon, which means that I qualified for a substantial refund on the cost of the insulation installation.
Description of Work: This company added insulation to my attic.
