Description of Work: Our renter called and told us the shower was leaking under the shower wall, and into their bedroom. We called our normal plumber, and he told us he couldn't fix it, and we needed to have the shower torn out and replaced.

Description of Work: Crawled under the house, replaced a leaky pipe. But Mr. Allen also was called in by another plumber we had to assist during a remodel. The other plumber was "primary". No cleanout trap was installed. When we called the primary plumber, once again Robert Allen was called in to "assist". A cleanout trap was installed. Work was quick, efficient, and they didn't charge for the installation of the cleanout. Robert Allen was pleasant, efficient and very accomodating.

Description of Work: This man is an angel sent from God! He is unselfish, extremely considering of the customer, with a prime objective of getting the customer's life back together (after a plumbing emergency) as soon as possible with as little money as possible. We have a newly purchased house in Medford, but unfortunately, at the inspection phase, we learned that the house came equipped with sewer pump due to the fact that the lowest bathroom is below the city sewer line level. On Halloween eve, all h*** broke loose. No pun intended. Our worse fears were realized and the dreaded alarm, telling us the pump water level in the pump housing unit was high and the sewer pump stopped working. I was in a panic as my 90 year old mother, wife and kid were all needing to go places, take showers, shave, cook, wash and take care normal bodily functions. As the toilets were filled up, everyone was beginning feel depressed and we realized I probably would be stuck with an an unreasonable plumber bill. As I perused the Internet looking for plumbers and prices on these type of sewer pumps, I was shocked that some were as high as $7000 dollars. With the recession and my business down 70% over the last 3 years, this is the last thing I wanted to learn. I believed calling a high-priced plumber out of the phone book or with a fancy website would lead to a bill I could not afford. As I continued to scourer the Internet the thought came to me to try Craigs List. I got on there and found Roberts ad telling how he is a licensed and bounded plumber who is even willing to do bartering for his services. I figured I should give Robert a call. Well, this turned out to be the best call I could have made. Here it was Halloween night now, Robert was at a Halloween party with his family and he took my call. We talked a bit about the problem and Robert got some information from me then put my mind at ease as to the price of the pump if it did in deed need one. He was going to come out the following morning and take a look to see what he could do. But prior to hanging-up, Robert told me one procedure to try in order to get the pump working again. He said many times the problem is a kids sock or other item stuck in the pump. He then told me to simply lift-up the entire pump assembly along with the output tube to the pump several times about 4 or 5 inches and let it drop to the floor of the pump housing. Robert was primarily concerned with getting my household back in order and not his profits or selling me on some expensive solution that I really didn't need. I tried this and the alarm cleared, the sewage stopped overflowing from the pump housing into the pump enclosure and all was fine. I did it a couple more times and we are taking long hot showers and have clean toilet bowls now. I called Robert back to attempt to get his business address in order to send him some money for his information and assistance at a critical time for my family, but he would not accept nor take anything in return for bothering him on Halloween night at 8pm when he was with his family.
