It went great, couldn't be happier. Highly recommend it was really a pleasant experience. Am going to hire Rick again next year to do my interior, can't wait. The house that is brown was the before picture which was very depressing colors, now it is so bright and cheerful I just love it. Rick and Chuck did a wonderful job, thanks guys!

Richard and his crew were very professional, on time and had great attitudes overall. We have 4 dogs and two love to bark! They handled that all in stride. The paint job overall came out fabulously! They even paid attention to even the smallest details. They gave us detailed information to make good decisions in getting a professional finish. They did a wonderful job. They did exactly what we agreed to and they always were there when scheduled or called if they were delayed. I would recommend there work to anyone.

Once I was able to pin Rick down and get job scheduled, it went extremely well. He and his crew were very personable, communicative and worked very hard. They finished the job in less than a week. And my house is pretty big. I would recommend Rick for any painting job, he did great work and is a good person.

EXCELLENT! Richard and his crew did an excellent job on our home. He was very prompt when we called for an estimate and gave a very competitive bid. He explained everything he would do as far as prepping our home for paint including pressure washing and priming certain areas that needed additional care and how long the job would take. He covered up all area's once the painting began and let us know each day what would be done. He's very professional and we'd definitely recommend him to everyone. Richard did an incredible job. Was punctual, the price was good and we would definitely rehire him. There were a lot of crazy angles, a screened in porch that required a LOT of detailed handwork and the work was accomplished with a smile and a song! Yes, Richard sings while he works and rather well, I might add!

Our home was in dire need of paint, but a lot of prep work had to be done before that could happen due to poor previous work and it's age. We've had a lot of house painting accomplished on homes over the years and this was, by far, some of the best, most professional work done. He was the only person who gave us extensive detailed information during the estimate as to what he would do to fix problems, types of paint, and made us comfortable the job would be a good one. Just the prep work alone took two of them a couple of days. There was a lot of detail work involved in the painting that included a huge 12 x 30 ft screened in porch with wide sills all the way around, wood trim on all the huge screens and carpeted with carpet squares. Not only the trim wood was painted, inside and out on those screens, but also the porch house wall, the half walls and the ceiling. Not one drop of paint was left on either the screens or the carpet. That was amazing. They also take off all the gutters, light fixtures, and anything else affixed to the home, then re-affix them when done. We have a lot of floral and bushes around the base of the home, They took great care not to disturb those any more than needed. They covered everything. We highly recommend Richard. His personality, professionalism and punctuality were wonderful. Plus....... he plays great tunes while he works and he sings pretty darn good too! Richard and his crew are really nice guys.

He was prompt, did a complete job and worked very fast. He cleaned up after himself and was very professional. I would hire him again in a second if and when I need another paint job.

The job went great. Rick was accommodating under the time constraints we were under and was very communicative during the entire process. He is easy to work with and very professional. When we wanted more done he was able to accommodated us. He has painted for us before and we have always been very happy with his work and work ethic. He is highly recommended.

It was a great experience loved the crew their very hard workers one day they were here from 10:00 A.M. till 8:30 P.M. Got done a day ahead of schedule.They power washed the house and scraped the old paint off. I have to say I'm hooked on "Miller Paint" it went on nice and smooth and really made our old house restored to it's original beauty. Jason & Justin and their good friend Travis were the crew here and they did everything we asked of them. It's really hard these days to find someone who pays attention to details and what the customer wants these guys did just that. I would tell anyone who needs painters to hire them. We called three other painters and either they didn't get back to us or their bid was just to outrageous. They cleaned up the mess afterwards and hug up a few things they had to take down while painting. .

Went well, blessed by weather, and was completed despite one day of rain, neighbor requested Richard's business card and in discussion with me was surprised about low price. Five bids ranged from $5,000, $8,000, and $14,500 with one not submitting a bid.). House had been painted ten or more years ago and it was weathered with some loose siding, frayed laminated doors--along with rotted fascia--and damaged garage door. Preparation included masking of all surfaces needing protection (windows, meters, decks, walks, etc). Not an accidental drop any where.

Richard Shier (Rick) and his son's Jason and Justin just completed the interior paint work on our house. Words are not enough to express the fantastic professional job done. They arrived every morning with a smile and got right to work. As each room was completed, we could not believe the attention to detail having to caulk and paint all base boards, removing all electrical covers, ceiling fans, curtains, cable tv equipment, door handles, doors and anything else I didn't mention, then reinstalling everything back correctly. The quality of the painting to the walls, doors, base boards and caulking was perfect. Rick is a true artist in his field. He help us with making decisions on some changes he brought to our attention that was the right choices. They had to clean up someone else's poor work, and what a difference! Finding a true professional was a blessing for us. Rick and his son's are very caring people and take pride in their work. Look no further for a quality painting contractor!! AMAZING!! There are absolutely no words to describe how pleased I am with Richard and his sons, Justin and Jason, and our experience with their business in painting our home. Richard provided a fast and clear estimate to paint our home, (which was very dark brown with even darker brown trim) - to a beautiful white with black shutters. This of course took extra care to ensure coverage and quality. Honestly, I have never seen such care taken by any prior contractor I have ever dealt with. The quality of their work is unsurpassed! Richard, Justin and Jason were not only professional and thorough they went above and beyond the scope of work including caulking at the doors, nailing down some loose boards, power washing our back deck when they power washed the house...honestly I probably cannot remember half of them right now!!! I will definitely use Richard Shier again and have already gotten a quote for some interior painting - I honestly and wholeheartedly recommend them! ~Amanda and Clinton

Got a bid when the painter we thought we were going to use flaked out on us, and it turned out he wasn't licensed or bonded. Richard was responsive and professional and gave us a thorough itemized estimate of the work he would perform. He has a great, respectful and polite crew. They did the work and didn't nickel-and-dime us with change orders for a few modifications we requested. Would use them again.

Called Richard for an estimate for our master bath, once we figured out that we were in over our heads. With his help, we ended up deciding to texture the walls to cover cosmetic damage to walls when we took down wallpaper border that must have been glued down with Gorilla Glue. We agreed on the price and he was done in 3 days. The prep work of taping off and protecting all surfaces was done perfect. There was no overspray anywhere in the house. He was always on time, and made sure we knew what was going on every step of the way. Looks amazing. This is our 2nd time using Richard Shier Painting. He's got a customer for life.

Richard is the 'gold standard' of painters. Our house has many odd angles and architectural details but all was taken in stride and the results were so attractive that neighbors we had never even met before dropped by to say how great our house looked. Richard was very solicitous of our ideas and readily accommodated some last minute changes and then didn't even flinch when I handed him the Angie's list coupon when it was time to pay. I recommend Richard to anyone who believes in paying a fair price for excellent work. We could not be happier with the results.

Richard agreed to meet with me no more than 24 hours after I contacted him by phone. He gave me an estimate of $2,000 for all the work I wanted to have done, and he completed the job for very close to that. He was at the house to start the job two days later. It took him fewer than three days to complete the entire job, and the delay was primarily due to periodic rain. He was prompt, efficient, and easy to communicate with. He kept the work site tidy at the end of the day, and there was no damage to any plants around the house due to paint or cleansers. Best of all, the house looks amazing!

Richard examined the exterior of our home and then he sat with us and outlined what he was going to do and then did. He and his two sons were diligent in the performance of thier jobs. They worked thru the day in hot weather. Each knew thier job and stuck to it without letup. I was impressed with the quickness of completing the job and the quality .They accomplished everything he said. I was impressed with the completed job and would hire him again.

Richard + sons are prompt, courteous, efficient, and I could not ask for better service. Will definitely use them again. Recommend them highly.

Richard came out and estimated the job. He followed that up with a written estimate via Email. I accepted the detailed estimate and we agreed on a start date. Richard and Justin arrived on the start date and began work. They arrived everyday on time until the job was finished. They did not leave any mess of any kind during the entire job. The finished product is outstanding. I would recommend them highly to anyone.

Richard gave us the estimate an we agreeded. He set the date, came as expected and did a very good job. When we are ready for more painting outside or inside he will get the first call.

It was obvious that the exterior of my recently purchased house had been neglected for quite some time. The paint was cracking and peeling; there was sunfade and areas that had been patch-painted over older peeling paint; and the eaves were gapped and sagging. I had four different estimates and Rick's came in the middle ... neither the lowest nor the highest but, to my mind, appropriate for the extent of the work to be done. They were able to start shortly after I hired them (bonus points!) Rick and Justin arrived in a timely manner each day. The first day was spent power washing the house, windows and screens, gutters, metal panel roof over the deck, and even the walkways. Wow. Really?? The next two days, they sanded peeling paint, caulked cracks, reinforced sagging eaves and removed all the debris. They taped, masked, covered plants and bushes and used drop cloths. After thorough prepping, they worked efficiently and carefully over the next several days (even though it was drizzling on and off!) to prime, and to spray the body color which was then backrolled. Finally the trim color was applied, again, with great expertise and care. I'm beyond delighted with Rick and Justin's work. The job is neat as a pin ... I can't find a stray daub of paint or a missed spot anywhere! They cleaned up beautifully every day; they consulted me if there was a question; they are courteous, efficient, punctual, honest and go the extra mile. They even took off the downspouts in order to paint behind them and offered to re-create two decorative wood blocks under a bay window that had dry-rotted beyond repair. Rick and Justin are friendly but not at all intrusive; respectful of homeowner, neighbors and property; very professional, and obviously take great pride in their work. They never slacked off on the job (even when the weather wouldn't cooperate). I cannot recommend them highly enough. They made my poor, neglected, tired exterior look brand new ... and in so doing, made this house my home. Grab these guys! They are such a rare commodity ... delivering stress-free and top quality results ... I actually feel I got more than I paid for. When's the last time you could say that?!?

Rick and Justin showed up on time everyday ready to work. As part of his prep work, Rick power cleaned the cedar shingles he was going to be staining and removed traces of water stains and mold that had accumulated over the years. The gutters were power-washed as well as the windows to ensure the masking tape and mask he would be using had a secure hold on a clean surface and not a dirty one. Seriously, he washed the windows and the screens (while still on the windows!) with a brush. I just couldn?t believe that a painter had washed the windows. Rick ? you rock. Next, all the peeling paint was knocked off wood and the pieces that appeared damaged got a good coat of primer. Rick did all the caulking of crevices and nail heads to ensure no water leakage or rusty nail heads would show through the paint. The masking of the house was a feat in itself. EVERYTHING was either removed, covered, or masked. All light fixtures were removed and the hardware on the door was so professionally masked, you would have never known they didn?t remove it before it was painted. My husband couldn?t believe how much everything was masked and when I commented to Rick about this he responded ?I would rather spend the time and expense of covering something up than having to remove paint from a sloppy job.? He took the extra time before the painting to ensure a quality job afterwards. The painting of the body of the house was done with a sprayer, thickly, and then back-rolled with a roller to ensure a smooth, even coating of the boards. Who does that? Really? But they did it and it is the best paint job my husband and I have ever seen and we?ve been homeowners in various locations for 40 years. Then, part of the masking came off and it was time to do the trim work. It was expertly done ? with a brush. The front door had originally only been varnished and this resulted in a bit of damaged veneer on the door and Rick took care of it. He sanded and caulked all the damaged areas and gaps in the wood before he primed it. With the paint on this door and the way they painted it, it never looked better. When the job was done, there was NO trace, other than an outstanding paint job, that they had ever been there since all empty paint cans were taken away, all masking trash was in the trash, and any extra paint, we kept. There were no empty soda cans, fast food wrappers, or so much as a gum wrapper left behind. All light fixtures were replaced, removed items from porch and patio were returned to their original positions, and even the mulch that was disturbed by ladders and paint buckets was smoothed over to look undisturbed. I can?t say enough good things about Rick and Justin. My grade for their job? Like I said, A+++. And if you want the best paint job you?ve ever had, call Rick.

We were very pleased with his work. Care was taken with tapeing, covering plants. Did what he said he would do and did it very well.
