Description of Work: Medford, Or was hit with extreme cold conditions in the winter of 2013/2014. All the plumbers in the area were extremely busy. I contacted "My Plumber" who I had used before and he scheduled me and fixed the leak within one hour of my call.

We called My Plumber to change the two faucets on the washing machine; one was worn and leaking. They charged us $185 for an hour's work and $45 for the two faucets (about double retail at Ashland Hardware). And they said that included a "senior discount"! When I called to complain, they said that my husband has agreed to the "estimate." He did, but that does not excuse them from overcharging. The work was adequate but the price was ridiculous.

Busy time for plumbers. Broken pipes all over the county. and quot;My Plumberand quot; has offices in Rogue River, Grants Pass, Medford, and Ashland. We live in Central Point. We are new to the area and had on file, from the previous owner, paperwork from this company. So we called them. We told them that we needed help, but the problem was at the well head and we were OK since we had a 1500 gal holding tank and therefore were not out of water. GOOD POINTS: The technician was out here the very next day. He (Lee) was very nice and knowledgeable. He had the new piece of pipe (a less than $10 piece of PVC ) replaced in less than 30 min, total time less than 1 hour. He said they'd send the bill and and quot;it wouldn't be very expensiveand quot; NOT SO GOOD: The bill came and was for $295. Brief explanation of what was done. No itemization to justify the numbers. I really thought there was some mistake. Interesting that in looking at previous bills left from the former owner I found: Jan 16, 2012 A bill with description of repair of leaks under sink etc. Again no itemization but a bill for $295 Dec 2, 2013 A bill illegibly written OVER another invoice again no itemization but a bill for $210 This time the owner asked for a new copy. I don't know if that happened. I called and quot;My Plumberand quot; to clarify my bill. He (I believe the owner) seemed surprised that I was questioning it. I asked what the hourly rate was and was told that it was about $90 (sorry I can't remember just how much he said, anyway it did not add up by my book) He offered to knock $50 off the bill. That wasn't the point. I paid him his billed amount, but I will call a different plumber next time.

My countertop and flooring people disconnected water and gas lines and then reconnected them when they were finished. Luckily, I asked Rob to come by and check on things after I discovered a leaking valve when the countertop people left and a gas range that didn't function after the flooring people left. Rob took care of me, as he has before. He fixed the problems and gave me some tips on how to check on leaks myself and alerted me to a potential safety hazard with an unused gas line in my laundry. Great guy to work with and pretty good about keeping to his time estimates and, when he can't be on schedule, he actually called and let me know in a timely manner. Wish more contractors did that.
Description of Work: Installed my new kitchen sink -- after he'd replaced a leaking valve under the sink that my countertop people left me. Four days later, I asked him to come by and check on the gas and water connections my flooring people had done for my bathroom, laundry and kitchen.

But....Robert did not believe that the sand filter was the cause of our accumulation of water in the lawn. He suggested possibly the curtain drain or the drain field, nothing was done to either of these parts of the system. So it still remains a mystery where the water is coming from but after paying $585.00 we could not afford to check the status of the drain field. DON'Ts: Originally, over the phone, we accurately described the problem; the work done was as described over the phone; there were no hidden problems that extended the scope of the project. We were quoted over the phone that it would cost $159-$359. The difference was the lower cost would be if we could uncover the sand filter (we could not, but it was only 20and quot; down); the higher cost would be if he uncovered the tank to install flush outs. Well when all was said and done the price was nearly 4 times the lowest quote and almost double the highest quote and paid $585.00. Perhaps this is the going rate, we won't know now but the charges did seem excessive to us. DO's: In the future, I would prefer to get an estimate in writing that comes close to the original bid +/- 10% or so...in this case we feel we were overcharged for the service performed. Otherwise we would have given My Plumber straight A's - but price was really a D+ and overall about a C+/B-
Description of Work: We had excessive water in our lawn and suspected our sand filter system may have a problem. We had a detailed sketch of the system and had cleared the sand filter to provide good access. Robert did a very good job of explaining the entire system - septic, sand filter, drain field and curtain drain. It was decided since the sand filter system was 20 years old and had no clean outs that that would be the best course of action. It took only about 2 1/2 hours to expose the sand filter, cut and install cleanouts and to purge the accumulated waste (was considerable but cleaned out easily). The work was well done to our satisfaction as far as it went.

Very professional from the day of the estimate until the project was finished. Even though they were extremely busy with other jobs and a holiday weekend in the mix, they squeezed our project in to their crazy schedule at the time. The workers kept me up to date with everything they were doing and kept my home clean! Thank you for incredible service!
