Description of Work: I hired Jody to design my landscape and oversee installation via one of his preferred installers. He drew up a preliminary plan. He also submitted a plant list, but I couldn't understand any of the plants on the list. He was suppose to have drawn up a planting layout and been onsite when the plants were installed. He never did a layout. I kept calling and calling. Finally his wife told me he had moved to California. I called down there and Jody never returned my calls. I left a couple messages and asked for a partial refund since he didn't complete the job. I hired one of his installers to install the plants. They were not planted in the correct places and 1/2 of them died. Very, very disappointed in Jody's work.

 + -1 moreMr. LaChance requests a deposit of $1800 to "get into his queue" yet when we were ready to use his services he had moved to Southern California to teach for two semesters and not left a forwarding number. He expected us to be amenable to him doing our designs remotely without ever having seen our new house, the new elevations, retaining walls, etc. When I asked for our money back he became silent and we still are out the $1800 PLUS the amount of money spent trying to chase him down using the small claims court process, but without success. On the surface, seems like a nice guy, but after this I can honestly say he is astoundingly dishonest.
Description of Work: We only had two meetings with Mr. LaChance and both of those were preliminary high level discussions about what he might do for us. At the end of this second discussion he asked for a check for $1800 so that he could save a spot in his queue. No drawings or further work was done by this shister.
