How did it go, terrible. The neighbors house burned and burned our house extensively. Doug Gillette was brought in as a plumbing sub-contractor for Alverez Construction, Inc. Mr. Gillette was very rude and arrogant in talking with me. He put down my plumber that had helped me update our plumbing. Mr. Gillette stated he was pulling out all our plumbing and replacing it with pex pipe plumbing and kept stating what a great plumber he was. He did some of the work and then sent his assistants to continue the work. Someone crossed the hot and cold lines and had to return to correct their error. Mr. Gillette took forever to replace my on demand water heater that had been compromised by the fire. Mr. Gillette wanted to replace my heater with a different brand than what I had. He kept giving me excuses as to why the replacement door wasn't here. Finally, I went to the company that sells Rinnai water heaters and learned that Mr. Gillette had never ordered the replacement door. The company had the door delivered to my house the next day. Instead of giving me our damaged heater, Mr. Gillette said it was his and he took it away. Mr. Gillette had to send his people back to correct the error in installing the faucet in the front bathroom shower. Mr. Gillette also refused to replace all of my plumbing he removed. Mr. Gillette refused to put our hot/cold outdoor faucet back where we had it. Said he had to put the faucet on the corner of the house where, when one turns it on it gets the back porch steps wet and in my mind is a hazard. With the stress of our house being burned, I felt that Mr. Gillette's rudeness was intolerable. Mr. Gillette has refused to give me a statement as to the total cost of his work. It is debatable if all the plumbing really needed to be replaced. All repairs were to be completed by June 15, 2013. It is now February 17, 2014, and we have yet to have a final. Alverez Construction, Inc. is less than what they present. It has been a very distressing ordeal and one I would hope others can avoid.
