Maurer Flooring

They got the flooring down right but the finish, and some beginning, work was not good at all. Marks on the drywall where they used a pry bar to remove the existing baseboard. Literally ripped off the rubber baseboard damaging the drywall and bottom of some cabinets. New baseboards were stained a dark color to match existing framing but when the boards were cut there was splintering off the top edge. No offer to fix that. Some mismatching on the corners. Left their fast food wrappers laying around after they left for the day. Stationed their saws on the front porch so that vinyl sawdust was tracked in over the new flooring. At the end of the job the sawdust was cleaned up some but mostly blown out onto the driveway to be tracked in.

Jake was very informative when he came to measure for the bid. He had very helpful suggestions about floor types and continuity. I am glad I implemented those suggestions. Steven and his crew did a stellar job of installation. They were prompt, reliable, and a pleasure to work with. I LOVE my new floors; they look great. I was very disappointed to have an additional $750 in additional materials and labor. That amount equates to an additional 21 percent above the bid. I thought the cost overruns were excessive for a $3,500 bid. Apparently Jake needs to work on his bidding skills.
