Description of Work: Everything! We decided to put a house on top of our house. In retrospect it was a much more intense job than we imagined. The vast majority of the contractors we hired (architects, structural engineers, concrete, plumbers) all s*** the bed in one way or another. We fired our first electrician. He was a good guy, but the bid made no sense. This is where Bentley stepped in. The entire bid for a second floor addition was planned out and itemized. I knew what every single outlet and switch was costing me. In the end we re-did the entire house with Bentley and we could not be happier. It was a massive job and Jay and Patrick killed it. Thank you guys!

Description of Work: I had them relocate two switches from one wall around the corner to another to allow for installation of a new bar. I also had them drop in a new GFCI receptacle from a junction box. The electrician who came out was the same electrician who came out when I first found and used Bentley Electric on an Angie's List deal. He arrived a few minutes early, finished quickly and cleaned up (vacuumed and wiped down the wall). They are a class business and highly ethical. While I wish all electricians' prices were lower, Bentley is on par with the electricians in the area.

Description of Work: Installation of bathroom fan. I had an Angie's list coupon for $129 for two hours. When I made the appointment. I explained the house was a 1950s house and that the fan would be put in the ceiling through the attic. I was told that it would be a couple of hours. The person who came out did not seem to be knowledgeable about "older" homes and at least 10% of the time the electrician was talking to the owner and determining what he could do and how to do it. The electrician at first determined he could not install the fan because of the old wiring and it was complex (after talking with the owner). So I was going to have him put in another outlet and have him check some wiring. After about 45 minutes and talking more with the owner, he said he could put the fan in, but it couldn't be where the light fixture was the old wires were too brittle. I really didn't understand why the wires to the light fixture could not just be replaced since he ran the new wiring from the attic. I finally said for him to go ahead. When he was done, he only had a metal plate to put over where the light fixture had been. The light on the fan goes on and then dims and the fan, which is a quiet one, is load. The fan casing can move when pushed. He also did not know I had an Angie's List coupon and had to call the owner about pricing. |The owner did call by trying to remedy the situation by saying he would come to look at it. The same guy called to come out ... so I said no thank you.

Description of Work: Hired Bentley Electric on 6/20/14. I had them replace 5 outlets inside the house, a dimmer switch, a smoke detector. Outside the house, I had an outlet replaced and two outdoor lights replaced. In the garage, I had three outlets replaced and had wiring checked as well. I would give this company a "A" and I most definitely would re-hire them.

Description of Work: Took care of some lighting changes in our garage and replaced some receptacles in the home. A little miscommunication on length of time to complete the work, but overall vey happy and would definitely use their services again.

Description of Work: They installed a 50 amp circuit, wiring, and gfci for a future hot tub, and a whole house surge protector for the house breaker panel. In the barn, along with bringing the existing wiring up to code, they intalled a 30 amp circuit, new lighting, a new outlet, and new switches for the new and existing lighting.
