+ -1 moreI had talked to another furniture repairer and had received a very unrealistic quote for the repair. I kept searching and was given a referral to Woodturnings. When I called Mary Monette, she offered to come to our house to look at the table and give us an estimate, which was very much appreciated, since our vehicle wasn't ideal for transporting the table. After looking at the table, she gave us an estimate of 180.00, and we made arrangements to bring it to her shop, where we left it. She completed the work right on schedule. Because it had been awkward to deliver the table in our car, she offered to deliver it to our house for an additional 30.00, which we gratefully accepted. The table looks wonderful--it was given a long overdue polishing as well--and the repairs have made the table very sturdy. In addition, we can now use the extension leaves. All in all, we are very pleased with the work Mary did and would definitely return to her for any other repairs or wood work we needed done.
Description of Work: Repair a pub table whose base was damaged and wood-wormed; also repaired the arms of the extension leaves.

Description of Work: Had a chair to be fixed and was given a price of $60 to fix it. Called a few later and told me the work would require $20 dollars more. No one was there when I went to pick it up. I was told to come and get it that someone would be there until 6pm. I waited 35 minutes before someone showed up

+ 0 moreThere was a wait of over a month before they even took the desk. But this was known ahead and was okay with me. They kept it for about a week. The final result was great. I couldn't tell what part of the leg was old and what was new. The new parts had been milled and finished to exactly match the other legs.
Description of Work: Woodturnings says they "specialize in the structural repair of furniture." They fixed a broken leg on an antique desk. The leg was curved, had clawed feet and was broken in several different places. It.had been hammered, screwed and glued in various attempts to repair it. All those repairs had further damaged it.
