. I could tell after the first day of fence construction that this was going to be a first class job - everything I looked at was square and plumb at day's end. It also appeared that he personally hand-picked every piece of wood for the fence; I haven't seen such clear, straight wood in a long time. Digging new post holes slowed the job down - we had a lot of roots and river rock in our yard - and he couldn't use the power auger as he had planned. It was worth the wait though, the job completely exceeded my expectations! Randy made sure that we were involved in every step of the construction, and as he came up with ideas to improve the fence, he would go over them and make sure we were all in agreement before proceeding. The project did come in over the quoted price, but that was only because Randy made those great suggestions to improve the fence, and we worked them into the job. But again, he was always very careful to make sure that I approved of any changes before they were incorporated into the job. The fence is done, the door is installed, and I couldn't be happier - he hit this one out of the park!! I was also extremely impressed by the way they cleaned and straightened up around their work areas at the end of each day - they ended up leaving it in better shape than when they started!! It may have taken a little longer than his original estimate to get the job done, but sometimes that is the price you pay for really quality work!
