THE HOME DEPOT

We bought a new dishwasher and we paid for the installation. Home Depo delivered the dishwasher, but they claimed that they couldn't install it because the old dishwasher is hardwired into the house and so we needed to have an electrician install an outlet first. This is a very common problem, we learned, with the new dishwashers, but Home Depo didn't make us aware of the problem when we bought the dishwasher, and paid for the installation. We could have avoided the charge and paid directly an electrician to install the dishwasher. So, we rescheduled the installation after we had an electrician installing the outlet. However, Home Depo didn't show up for the new appointment. When we called we learned that the appointment was cancelled by mistake and needed to be rescheduled a second time. The new appointment is in two weeks from now. So, we have been living with the new dishwasher in the middle of the kitchen for the past two weeks, and we will be living in the same way for a couple of extra weeks in the future. Hopefully Home Depo will not cancel by mistake the appointment again. We will keep you posted.

They first called me at 8:30am to tell me they were going to be early for our 9:30am delivery apt. (I have a 1yr old who was sleeping at the time so I did not appreciate being woken up earlier than needed). When they arrived on a rainy day, they refused to take off their shoes before entering my house! My driveway is gravel and was very muddy and covered in pine needles which they tracked onto my brand new carpet! I asked them again to please remove their shoes before coming back into my house, explaining that it was brand new and expensive carpet, they again refused and said it was and quot;against company policyand quot;. I asked if they could put bags over their shoes as to not track in mud and pine straw, they replied and quot;we don't have anything like thatand quot; so I found bags and offered them, they again refused! They also did not have a roll of paper or plastic or anything to put down to protect my floor! I brought them a towel and asked them to at least wipe off their shoes, which they sloppily did and still tracked more mud and dirt through my home! When they went to hook up my new washer and drier they told me that they weren't and quot;allowedand quot; to hook anything up to plastic fittings or used parts (the drier) so my husband had to hook everything up. They had me sign a bunch of papers before they left which I did hastily because I was so livid at that point and just wanted them out of my house! As soon as they left I swept and mopped the foyer (which was absolutely FILTHY!) and cleaned and vacuumed the carpet. I did this right away because I have a 1yr old who I did not want crawling around on filthy floors or on a muddy carpet! I then called to complain about what had happened and ask for the company to pay to have my carpet professionally cleaned to get out any mud that my be deep down or leaked through to the padding. They refused and said that since I didn't have any pictures of what the carpet looked like before hand that they and quot;will not accept responsibility for the carpetand quot;. I told them it was BRAND NEW CARPET that was installed just 4 months earlier, we do not allow shoes in our house and I vacuum it every other day, it looked like NEW CARPET. They said we could file a claim which I did. Then they called back to schedule an apt for them to come and quot;inspectand quot; the carpet (which I had already cleaned) two days later. I told them that we might not be available that morning and they scheduled it and came out anyway and we were not home so they sent us a certified letter stating that they were canceling the claim, and not excepting any responsibility for the carpet. I will NEVER have anything delivered from Home Depot ever again!!!! It was the WORST delivery experience I have EVER had!!!

Cordial employees and efficient service. Door is excellent quality and beautiful design. Ryan went out of his way to personally deliver the door.

Home Depot staff seem not to be as knowledgeable as Jerry's. We've purchased materials and building supplies from both HD and Jerry's for years. The prices are comparable but staff at HD are not as available nor as experienced.

They said to expect a call within 48 hours, but it took two weeks and by then I was no longer interested in working with them.

We completely gutted out kitchen, so I worked with a local contractor to coordinate all the work and who installed the cabinets. We had preliminary work done to resurface the ceiling, do some rewiring for the new appliances and relocate the outlets, and add undercounter lighting We were advised to have all our cabinets and appliances on-site (which we did) before the demo began in late November. We had another project going on simultaneously by the same contractor (a new front porch) while the kitchen work was being done. Our time frame was a little over 3 weeks to get everything completed before Christmas. It was tight getting it done in time, but they finished it the night before our out of town company arrived. We came in pretty much on target for our budget. We purchased stainless appliances in advance of the remodel which our contractor installed.. We also had our contractor install the plank flooring. We wanted granite countertops so we compromised by getting granite tile countertops and backsplashes. We are very pleased with the finished kitchen. The cabinets are high quality one of thetop priority items for the kitchen. If I did it again I wouldn't do it any different.

I am very happy with our results, the quality of the material and the installation. I would use Home Depot on Green Acres Road again.

My experience with them was both good and bad. I had a really wonderful experience in getting help and planning. I got to know what the project would cost form their sales person. Her name is Jane. She projected the cost beautifully. We got everything laid out and I did not want to change the foot print. I had a very functionally kitchen designed by somebody else. I needed to upgrade the cabinets. The cabinets were beautiful; however, they were not functional. It was not their mistake. They looked okay, but they were not what people have now. I wanted ones that would roll and were easily reachable. The amount of space wasted in those cabinets is unbelievable. Some of them have been designed horribly. I did not get what I wanted. Home depot was great to work with. They did a great job and did what I wanted. There was not one drop from what was projected to me. The guy who came from the measuring team walked me through telling me who needed to do what and when. They finished all the work in time. They also put me in touch with someone when I wanted some drywall and painting job done. They finished the work in the timely manner. It is a beautiful kitchen to look at; however, when there are little things that are wrong you need to live with it. The first thing that I noticed is that they screwed in one handle slightly tippy. The handle was a little off and I spotted it when the work was done. The rest of them are fine. Nobody is going to notice it, but I am going to notice all the time. The cabinets are not as well finished as they are supposed to. There are a few places where they have been puttied in and smoothed over and finished on it. I was surprised with that, but that was not home depot. In many ways I thought I had used another company. In order to get the best deal, I had them plan what was needed for the bathroom remodeling and that cabinet was a major problem. The way they stated the cabinet was not correct. I had to call cabinet makers and make them readjust the measurements. The end effect is beautiful. There were problems but they were not Home Depot's problems. Overall, my experience with Home Depot was good. I rate them high overall. I just had one problem. They suggested that I surround the window with a new frame. They took out the piece of wood that was forming the edge around the window and never replaced it. It was a raw window edge. The wood was completely unfinished and the frame looked nice. That created a problem for me as it looked weird.

The Home Depot provided me with a written estimate in advance of performing the work. They kept me informed about the progess of the project the entire time. They were prompt and always showed up when promised. They never missed an appointment. They were fast, efficient, and the work was perfect. The granite seem is placed in an inconspicuouse location. The project took 2 weeks from start to finish.

I liked that I had one single contact, no matter where the issue was. They handled all the problems. It was everything that I expected. They were very professional. They are very customer oriented. They provided top quality materials.
