I could never get a response from them, actually only spoke to them three times. Apparently, if you can get him to commit, he'll do the job right.

The written bid created a couple questions in my mind, which I tried to ask by return e-mail: no response. I tried e-mailing again a few days later: no response. Maybe he doesn't check his e-mail, so I called and left a phone message: no response. A few days later I tried again by phone: no response. All together, I reached out maybe 5 times, and could not get any answer. Was he taken ill? Family emergency? Irritated with something? On an extended vacation? Or just unprofessional? I still don't know.

I did not use Scandia Floors as he was very hard to get ahold of. I chose to go with another company who was more responsive to my requests for service.

From estimate to finished job, things went smoothly, as expected. Nice work, looks great. We're very happy with it.

Eric of Scandia Floors did an excellent job on our oak kitchen floor. He bid a little lower than two other contractors. He captured almost all the dust, and covered the cabinets, etc. with plastic before beginning. We paid for an extra coat of oil finish because of water, food spills, etc. in the kitchen. He showed up promptly when he said that he would, and worked quickly. Thoroughly professional job. He earned a modest tip, as well.

Eric and his crew were great! After moving into this house, we ripped out the old carpet and wanted to get the floors refinished before we moved our stuff in -- so we wanted it done fast. Eric fit us in among larger jobs, and was able to start work almost immediately. The crew did their best to minimize dust by removing or plastic-wrapping all my curtains and by sealing off the non-hardwood-floored rooms. When I was having a very, very hard time deciding which finish to use on the floor, Eric put down samples of each finish so I could see how they looked on my floor. The work was completed in about a week. My only little complaint is that they rarely showed up at the time they said they would, but that may have been because they were fitting me in at the last minute. Also, they came in with the lowest quote. Overall, I was very happy with Scandia, and would recommend them.

Terrible. The floor was not properly installed; it was improperly sanded and he damaged the walls of my house. I had to get every wall repainted!

The project went very well. I first spoke to Eric before we moved in, as we were first interested in doing bamboo floors (which they do). But, after we saw the floors in the house up close, we wanted those, and felt they'd match the house much better. There was some delay in the getting the wood because this floor used 3", 4", and 5" width pieces, and the normal mill they use for the top quality wood was out of the 5" wood. So, it took a bit to find another mill that had the high quality wood we wanted. Once that was found (delayed things maybe a week), he got the wood in and adjusting to the house. This was great though, because it showed Eric's commitment to the quality of the wood and process. Overall the project was great. The guys who worked on it were quiet, and respectful, and I felt the schedule worked well, and stayed on time. We are so happy, that we're going to have them back to do our master bedroom and living room.
