RUBBER DUCK SPA SERVICE

Had tub repaired, bought tow new filters and a new hot tub cover.

I had the front cover off the hot tub before the service man arrived. He did not arrive within the scheduled window. I called the office and said the service man had not called in and was not sure when he would get there. He ended up there another hour after that. We could see where the water was dripping from under the filter. He gave me a bottle of blue food dye (16 oz) and suggested I pour that in the tub to stain the foam so we could be sure of the source of the leak. I was sent a bill for $90 for this ten minute visit. I contacted them to explain the bill which I thought was a bit high for 10 minutes work. They charge a minimum of 1 hour ($80/hr.), plus $10 for the bottle of dye ($8 on the web). I picked rubber duck because the listing in the phone book has the address only 8 miles from my house. I would not mind a $90 estimate as long as that would be applied to any repair work. It does not. They would charge another $80 just to show up. Or, when I explained the symptoms they could have recommended I put dye in the tub so they could fix it when they came out with one trip. I suspect if they needed a part they would be charge you another $80 show up fee. Larry would not make any adjustment to the bill.
