Communication was the main issue - arranging appointment times, work to be completed each day, etc. Info didn't seem to make it from one person to the next. Repeated trips were necessary, including scheduling inspection before work was complete. Workmanship was questionable so a different journeyman was requested and agreed to, but the same guy showed up. Personal belongings in home were gone through and used to complete work.
Description of Work: Replace service panel, wiring in garage, install heaters.

Thank you for leaving us a review. It is important to us to receive feedback, be it positive or negative. I feel it appropriate to respond to each of your concerns. Our communication level for your project was disproportionately higher than the scope of work would typically warrant. Every phone call was answered or promptly returned. Every email was responded to. We had a supervisor visit your project three separate times (at no additional charge) to evaluate and address your concerns. We were able to address each concern to your satisfaction (at the time). One day, our electrician did run a little late. Our scheduler was unaware and therefore, did not let you know. We apologize for that. Repeated trips were, indeed, necessary. This is due to both the original scope of work that was initially requested, as well as the additional work that you requested after our electricians had begun working. There was simply much more work than could be completed in one trip. We called in for an inspection for the electrical service. The inspection was inadvertently checked for "final" rather than "service". Regardless, an inspection was required at that point of the project. We believe our workmanship was very good. There were a couple very minor issues - including the panel door sitting less than an 1/8" away from the drywall - which we corrected. We believe our finished product reflects the quality we strive for. We did not agree to send a different journeyman electrician, our scheduler only indicated that he would check with the project manager to see if that was a viable option. It was determined to be in everyone's best interest to continue with the original electrician. During his initial site visit, our supervisor communicated to you that it would be nearly impossible to completely avoid making somewhat of a mess. The ground inside of your garage is covered in dirt (unfinished). The ground outside of your home surrounding the location of your electrical meter was covered in dirt. The rainy weather that had been forecasted was inevitably going to turn the dirt into mud. The project necessitated working both outside and inside of your home. Your response to this information that our supervisor proactively communicated to you was, “no worries. The floors are tile; they’ll clean up”. Given your response, and the fact that you were yet to occupy your new (to you) home, our electricians believed that they were going above and beyond what had been agreed upon. We used a mop and a towel. Those are the only personal belongings used or “gone through”. Our electricians cleaned as good as possible using their towels and cleaning material. We felt it would be best to utilize the mop to clean the tile floor. We did this in an attempt to keep the area clean and to your satisfaction. Ultimately, we believe the finished product meets our high standards. We pride ourselves on more than just finished product though. The entire process, from start to finish, is important to us. I am disappointed that the entire process didn't meet your expectations.

Very happy with Reynold's Electric! My tenant called on a Thursday night (a 20 degree night) to say there was no ceiling heat in one of the rooms. The tenant and I had a number of phone calls trouble shooting things like checking the circuit breakers before they finally 'mentioned' they had replaced one of the thermostats themselves based on advice from a DIY box store about how to save on their electric bill and when they opened the outlet up just then they see all the wires had burned through. Thank goodness for circuit breakers. I was concerned it would be an emergency call charge to get the heat repaired over the weekend but a message to Reynold's through Angie's List contact email resulted in a call first thing on Friday morning scheduling an electrician to be out there that same afternoon. The electrician was pretty amazed at the damage to the thermostat... the wires were toast, the end nuts completely melted, the dry wall scorched, the thermostat housing box charred black. It had been wired totally wrong. The tenants response: "I guess it wasn't as easy as the sales guy led me to believe." Once the electrician had investigated all the thermostats in the house we decided to replace all the old thermostats and upgrade to a programmable digital thermostats just in the bedrooms and living room even though it meant he had to have the special units brought over to the duplex from their warehouse right then. I was happy to spend the extra money to help make the fairly inefficient and expensive ceiling heat system work better for the tenant. Results... warmer house, lower heating bills, and most important... safer wiring. I was so glad Reynold's could respond so quickly and that they had a good suggestion for how to address the larger heating problem that led my tenant to be so reckless. The kicker.... the tenant was quite apologetic and understood he would pay for a portion of the electrician's bill out of his security deposit but then the tenant wanted me to credit him for the thermostat he had bought and installed incorrectly that almost burnt down the place. Not!
Description of Work: On next-day service they checked and replaced all ceiling heat thermostats in rental unit.

Above all, I appreciated the responsiveness of Reynolds to my problem. The electricians (journeyman and apprentice) came in, searched extensively for where the problem might be and concluded it was probably faulty wiring, possibly from critters under the house or damage from some other source. They concluded that replacing the wiring was the best solution, to which I agreed. During this process, I was kept informed as to what they were doing, their conclusions and the proposed resolution. I appreciated their professionalism and willingness to keep me informed. Once completed, they left the area clean...and I once again had electricity! Reynolds commitment to customer service is excellent...I was treated with respect from dispatch, office staff and the electricians...like my relatively small job really mattered.
Description of Work: Power out on one side of my home. After troubleshooting and finding no cause for the problem, installed new wiring to resolve the issue.

They were on time for their appointment. They did a good job. They had to come out to finish the next day due to a mix up with color choice, however, they fixed it promptly and were back within a couple hours. I would recommend them to others. Mike, the man who did my estimate was excellent to work with.

I keep my house perfect but it was built in 1951. They were very efficient and polite. They will give me a senior discount. I would use them again in the future and will keep the card. The man that came out was very nice and explained everything he did. He knew exactly where the problem was and went above and beyond.

It went well! Hard working, courteous, explained to me what was going on. They scheduled EWEB at timely points to turn off and on the electricity so the main entry point could be moved, scheduled the county inspection. What impressed me the most was that they got our electricity back on by early afternoon in spite of some difficult circumstances that were given to them. Finished up the job early the next day and provided a very comprehensive labeling of the circuits. Yes, I would definitely hire them again!
Description of Work: Moved and replaced the circuit breaker box, replaced and extended the pipe where the electric main line comes into the house, moved the microwave to a new circuit breaker, and moved the range to an appropriate amp circuit breaker. (I'm not an electrician so I hope this makes sense.)

After a couple of power surges the electric power throughout the center of my house went out. it was, evidently, a short in one of my outlets. Reynolds sent Shawn out to investigate. He worked for a couple of hours trying to trace out the problem. My attic rafters are a jumbled mess and full of insulation. He decided it would be more efficient to come back with an apprentice to help trace the problem, putting one person in the attic to inspect the canned lighting electrical and one at the power panel. Shawn and an apprentice came back a few days later and worked for a few more hours. They found and fixed the problem. I also had them replace two questionable breakers in my power panel. I received the bill in the mail about a week later. The cost was less than $500 , for a few parts and roughly five hours labor for one electrician and 2.5 hours with the apprentice. I would definitely recommend and call on Reynolds Electric again.
Description of Work: I called and received same day service for an unusual electrical outage that only affected the center portion of my house. Shawn was sent out within hours of my call, but the task turned out to be a two-man job. Shawn and a coworker returned and traced out the problem to a ground wire in the kitchen that had shorted, knocking out an entire section of lighting.

It went very well. I called in the morning and the service provider was at my home at 1:00. He was very professional and courteous. He worked diligently and resolved both issues. I was extremely pleased.

Their response was quick and the work was done well. The only problem encountered was when replacing the electrical panel they put a screw through a wire causing arcing when the power was restored by the power company later that day. I called an "after hours" number and they returned the next morning to correct the problem at no charge. The power had not been restored to my house until after Reynolds left the first day, so checking to see if there would be any problems was not possible at that time. They were professional, easy to deal with, prompt and courteous.
Description of Work: They replaced the electrical mast on my house after a falling tree took out the electrical line during a storm.

They provided lots of flexibility in how they could perform the work. Everyone was very helpful and knowledgeable. They answered all of my questions and helped me understand what my options were. The checked all of the circuits after completing their work to ensure they had completed their work satisfactorily. They changed a fair price and I am happy with the work that was done. They billed me for the work and did not require same day payment.
Description of Work: Reynolds electric came out the day I asked for a quote. There was some previous home owner wiring changes that had to be brought up to code for a sale. I had the quote the next day and they were able to get the work done within a couple of days.

This is the second time they have done work for us. Very prompt and professional. Came back when we called because we were worried about the noise the fan on the fireplace was making. Came back to make sure there was no fire danger. Would definitely recommend them. Great customer service.

In every way it was wonderful. The persons estimating and doing the work were a pleasure to meet and completely trustworthy. Work was done well, and efficiently. They gave me advice regarding what was the most feasible and inexpensive ways to accomplish my objectives, at every stage from the initial consultation, to even changes in my plan as I saw how it was coming out and thought it through as they were doing the work. .
