Ron Felt's company was on my "A" list for more than a decade, until recently. In Aug. 2017, Ron's crew, led by Sergio, was hired to repair a minor mainline irrigation leak. The leak was fixed by re-routing the mainline around a fir tree... In doing so, they cut off water service to my zone #8, which they had no clue they disconnected that zone. I discovered this oversight this spring, 2019, and requested to have repairs made. Ron refused to reconnect my zone #8 without charging me $190 per hour for the cost of 2 men to do the work. I don't know about you, but if I made a mistake, I don't charge my customers to make the repairs. This is called "character"...and Ron seems to have lost his way, in his business growth. Sad. I'm now looking for an honest and virtuous irrigation company to service my 12 rental properties.

When the owner/estimator dropped by to work up an estimate, he seemed likable and knowledgeable. His estimate was in line with the other two, but he could start the project in a couple of days--rather than several weeks for the others. He was going to send a crew and tear the old fence down and set new posts on Friday and then finish the fence on Monday. They called and made a change and one employee showed up on Thursday and did a good job of tearing down and hauling off the fence. I asked if there were more employees coming the next day and he said he thought there would be. There weren't. He said he would return around 8:30 a.m. on Friday and set the posts. He phoned at 10:00 a.m. to say he was running late. He arrived at 11:30 and ate lunch in the truck. He did manage to set all 7 posts before leaving that evening. For many of these contractors, they act like the homeowner has nothing to do except sit around and wait for them to arrive. Very inconsiderate and annoying. When he left on Friday evening, he said he would be back before 9 a.m. on Monday. He arrived at 9:45--but did not get out of the truck until 10:15. He did finish the job by 5:30 and it looked fairly good. The fence is shared with my neighbor and the 'finished' side faced her lot, with the 2x4 nailers facing my lot. I waited a week or so and started 'staining' my side and noticed a couple fence boards were not nailed securely--the bottom 2 nails missed their mark so the boards would swing out when I was staining. I phoned the installer and after many delays he came by and fixed it in 2 weeks. Not a big deal--but not that great of service. I thought all was well until I was visiting the neighbor and we happened to be standing next to the fence. Then I noticed that at least 6 or 8 fence boards just in the section we were standing next to, were not fastened well. Rather than having 2 nails at the top runner and 2 at the bottom., several nails were missed. The boards could be pulled away since they only had a single nail. I wanted to phone Living Concepts, but my neighbor said he would put screws in all the places missing fasteners. In this review, I checked the box saying I would hire them again--and I might. The employee was pleasant and did an OK job--but I would be certain to check every inch of their work next time. Also, the owner/estimator never made any contact after the completion to see if I was satisfied. He had the employee receive the check and I never heard from them again. I think that is lousy business practice.
