Kevin is responsive, responsible, truthful, honest and committed to quality. He managed the entire process, was clear and precise in managing the budget and subcontractors used. His commitment showed up in how he handled the project, always here when he said he would be, always available. Kevin truly brought our vision into being and we just could not have imagined a better experience (of course all remodels are "inconvenient" to the homeowner as it's a change of routine, etc) with a contractor or outcome of the project. As people pass the house don't even notice that there has been an addition, it is that seamless. I must admit, we kind of miss his presence around the house now that it's done, the dog definitely does!

Kevin was patient, listened to what I wanted, and offered suggestions to help me stay in my budget. He showed up when he said he was going to, and when I got home each day, he had cleaned up. As with any project, there were some glitches that could not be anticipated beforehand; he stayed calm - which kept me calm. My kitchen looks exactly like I envisioned it... amazing.

 + 6 moreWe interviewed five contractors and settled on Kevin because he seemed competent, friendly and had a straight forward communication style. Our impression of him and his work never changed throughout the course of the project. The work done was at a rental property and we do not live on site. For this reason, communication was a critical part of completing the project and keeping us happy. Kevin answered all of our questions and routinely sent us photos as the job progressed. He also was very flexible when our wishes to upgrade material turned out not to match his original estimate. He was patient and responsive throughout. Because we wern't around, he had a fair amount of independence on this job. His pace on the project was great. Despite adding to his work list on several instances, he was still able to complete the project on time and the results exceeded our expectations. We are very pleased with how everything turned out. We will definitely hire him again for other projects around the property.

 + 5 moreKevin was knowledgeable and considerate. All work was completed as scheduled and within the agreed cost. He went to the trouble to keep one bathroom functioning at all times, which meant more work and scheduling for him. Kevin was very patient with my questions and explained what needed to be done. After everything was completed one of the bathroom floors wouldn't function properly. Kevin came and checked the The installation and couldn't locate the cause. He worked with the manufacturer and had a representative come to the house to run tests and fix the problem with no additional cost to me. I would and have recommended Kevin.
Description of Work: Remodeled 2 bathrooms - Removed a wall and replaced shower with new marble shower, replaced flooring and molding, refinished cabinets, installed new cabinet handles and drawer pulls and and painted the first bathroom. Removed cast iron tub replaced with jetted marble tub with shower surround, new toilet, flooring and molding, refinished cabinets, replaced door and drawer pulls. Installed in floor heating in both bathrooms.

Description of Work: Kevin took care of a hole in my roof and then fixed the ceiling by scraping, using paste and painting it where the water came in. Since he had extra time he also painted the trim on my window outside where the paint was coming off.j

 + -1 moreIt went great, once we decided what he was going to do. After changing my mind once and then failing to get the materials needed for the job, Kevin did the project. He is a very patient man! We've been doing a lot of the finish work ourselves, but couldn't figure out the window trim. Kevin figured it out and completed the work, but it took longer than we thought. He charged for the extra time at the rate he promised for the special, and we were happy to pay it. We would definitely use him again.

Description of Work: This was far more than just a kitchen or bath remodel, although it did include both of those. Kevin Whiting was great to work with! As I was getting bids to refurbish a duplex that had been neglected for quite a while I had several contractors that refused to give me estimates but instead just wanted to work on a time and materials basis. This was a large enough job that I really needed to have a firm quote so I could budget for the project. Kevin spent quite a bit of time working with me on what exactly we needed to do first and what options we had that would keep expenses manageable before I ever signed the contract. He was not hesitant at all to give a detailed bid which made me feel confident that he took my job very seriously and that I wouldn't run into surprises. Of course there were things we ran into that we hadn't planned on, but Kevin tackled those with the same attentiveness to my budget and I felt the cost overages were necessary and reasonable. Best of all, he was very easy to work with. Very open and approachable. I felt like we were a team working on this project and I'm looking forward to working with him again on another project.
