Konrady Construction

We hired Mr. Konrady to complete two upstairs rooms, about 320 square feet each. Mr. Konrady is unprofessisonal, disorganized and leaves the job site too much. Because he is reasonable and worked by the hour (we supplied most of the materials), he thought he could come and go whenever and charge us for the time. He first started to do the framing in mid October and hardly got anything done by the end of November because he was away so often. When I questioned him about this, he always had some kind of excuse, such as he had to do this or that, not all the materials were there or things were in the way. When I asked him to let us know what he will need, he couldn't give us a straight answer most times because he was so disorganized. When he did have all the materials, he wasted a lot of time having to get tools he forgot to bring or going some place else. He also thinks he can do everything and anything which is simply not true. When he finally got to the sheetrock, tape and texturing is when his poor quality of work really showed up. He took a very long time to complete it, ending in us paying more than what we would have if we used a real drywall professional. The job was so bad I had to hire another person to correct all the bludge lines he left in both rooms. The texture was thin, bludges over the seams and even had smooth patches here and there. When he cut the holes for the plugs, he often tore the sheetrock enough so it had to be patched. He is not considerate either. He never told us when he needed to sand and came one day to do it, left the upstairs doors opened, didn't cover anything and dust got everywhere downstairs. He does not communicate well and he thinks it is our problem, not his. I would never recommend him.
