She was great. It was excellent service. She was prompt and found what we wanted at a fair price. She was excellent.

Working with Kathy and her assistant, Karen, was not just a great improvement to our home, but was fun! She listened to our ideas and we always felt that she was truly working for us; she wanted our house to reflect us, not her. She found great accessories for the rooms. She was so accessible. I could always reach her if I had an idea or question. Sometimes when you have lived in a house for a long time, you stop seeing it. She gave us a fresh new look that we love. She was also able to help my husband and me find common ground. We love the work she did and feel like it was money well spent.

,Overall, the remodel started and finished within Kathy's projected time frame. There are no horror stories with this remodel. We are completely happy with the results, none of which could not have been accomplished without Kathy's trained eye and expertise.

I'd never worked with an interior designer before so had some concerns. I worried the designer would impose her style on me rather than what I was comfortable with. Within 5 minutes of talking with her I realized I had nothing to worry about. She created a room I LOVE, love, love to come home to, using my favorite colors, my existing furniture, and my favorite artwork many of which are stichery pictures from my late mother. Once I realized how much work and scheduling was involved, Kathy acted as my overall contractor. She coordinated EVERYTHING! And, the work was completed in about 2 1/2 weeks. As one contractor entered, another one showed up. Plus the people she used to do the work were amazing. Friendly, knowledgeable, skillful. Kathy will act in any capacity you need - from making suggestions to coordinating the whole project. IF there had been an A+ rating, I would have!

So, it all started years ago trying to get the little old house we live in to be bigger. Try as we might, the exterior modifications we had been trying for never were able to come to fruition mostly due to city codes, expense, etc. We decided to then focus on what we could change, the interior. My husband had wanted us to start looking at paint and floors, and one day we were at Jerry's and I was looking at sinks and I thought, and quot;Hey, I'm just piece-mealing thisand quot;. I needed a professional to help get our project done in a timely fashion and by competent craftsmen. I started my search and found KJL design on Angie's List with rave reviews, and boy they were not wrong. Kathy has a wonderful style and a gentle presence. She was as attentive to our needs as if we were a much bigger job. Kathy listened to us and helped design a much brighter and functional downstairs. She designed, and then we went through colors and floors and tile designs together. She set up a master calender and had the tradesmen set up in a neat and orderly time-line to complete our project. She supervised every step personally, dropping by frequently to check on the progress and confer with us. The back and forth communication was excellent, with her rapidly responding to our every query. The craftsmen she chose were tidy, often cleaning up thoroughly at the end of each day. The cost overrun due to needing a new circuit box was explained well, as was the one time delay due to a worker being summoned for jury duty. Even with these disruptions, the project was pretty much on budget and on time. I am so happy with the outcome and my house now makes me smile.

I was very satisfied with her work. She has a nice eye for design. When I am ready to do some more, she'll be the first I'm going to call. She helped design an awkward office for me and I was very satisfied.

We were pleased with the work. It wasn't overwhelming but it was quite extensive. She gave us a lot of useful advice. There was a lot to do with the house and we couldn't have done it without her. I didn't necessary like all of the contractors she used.

Kathy did a great job overall! The project was completed just about on time. The only slight delay was due to us changing the plans. She really stayed on top of things for us. If they sub contractor wasn’t here, she was immediately on the phone to question it.
