Description of Work: I called because I wanted new locks on my doors because I was getting divorced and had heard from my housekeeper that my soon to be ex-husband was coming into my house when I wasn't there. When I called, I wasn't sure what to expect. I had several doors with locks. "J" was very pleasant on the phone. He told me that I didn't necessarily need to get new locks as mine sounded adequate; they only needed to be "re-keyed". He would come inspect them to be sure but it would be much cheaper to re-key the locks. When he came out, he was punctual. I had some other furniture being delievered on the same day and he was able to work around them without any trouble. He re-keyed four doors and attempted to change the lock on my storage area. That proved to be more of a challenge that he was prepared for. He would have had to take the door apart in order to change that lock. This didn't surprise me at all because that lock was added to the door later and then the external siding was added on top of that. It would have been a big (and expensive) job to take everything apart to change that lock. I appreciated the fact that he explained that to me and gave me options rather than just going ahead and costing me a bundle. I chose to leave that lock alone as there was little in there that I cared if my Ex were to access it. "J" also made as many extra keys as I needed, right there on the spot. He cleaned up after himself and you couldn't even tell he'd been there. It was a very pleasant experience all in all.

 + -1 moreI dont know what I would have done if he had not put my mind at ease right away and promised service the next day! While out of town, we had an emergency. The contractor that we were counting on to build our studio while staying in our home and taking care of our animals for 3 weeks turned out to be a crazy alcholic and freaked out on our neighbors. While 3000 miles away, we were forced to fire him and needed to change ALL of our locks right away. I looked on Angies List first and called JNS about the job. He was very kind and helpful over the phone and gave me a quote and set an appointment for my neighbor to meet him at my home the next morning. When he did not show up all morning, my neighbor called me and asked where he was. We then had to call him and he said that he had an emergency and would be there in a few hours. It was not a big deal because she was there working on my house anyway. Once he got there, he discovered that there were twice as many locks as he had thought and gave us another quote before starting the job. He changed ALL the locks (and we have a LOT of doors and deadbolts) to the same key (except for one that he could not get to because our contractor had bolted the door shut). Our neighbor said that he was very professional and curdious and he accepted our payment by check sent by mail.

 + -1 moreStupid me did not realize I forget to bring a house key with me until I got home and realized I was locked out. I tried calling and left a message with another locksmith company and still, some 7 hours later, have not received a reply from them. Guess they are not interested in helping me. If they were the only locksmith business in town, I would be crashing on a friend's couch or paying for a hotel by now. I decided to try calling JNS Locksmithing and instantly got through to someone. They said they would be at my place in 30 mins. When Jay got here he needed only about 20 mins to get me in. He was very professional. I jokingly said that now I needed to go to Home Depot and get a new key made and he then offered and made me a copy of my house key for FREE! I am very impressed and will use them exclusively from now on!
Description of Work: Picked the lock to get me into my house that I was locked out of and then made a copy of house key to avoid this happening in the future
