Punctual, fast and cleaned up all the mess and left leaves and any debris, as requested, by raking it up and filling the holes. I was very impressed and pleased, and would hire them again as well as recommend them.

I have no comment about the work itself, as it wasn't my yard. I have no reason to think there was any problem with their work, However, there was a HUGE problem in the way the crew dealt with 2 of the women in our neighborhood, one next door to the work site and one (me) across the street. Woman No. 1, next door, asked if they could shut off the truck, because the (unusually foul) exhaust was pouring into her workshop, house & yard. She was perfectly polite. But instead of explaining that the truck had to be kept running in order to operate the bucket, maybe apologizing for the inconvenience, and reassuring her that the truck would be turned off in X minutes, etc., she got a faceful of rudeness, disrespect & condescension -- possibly tinged with misogyny -- a really bad, unprofessional attitude. I (Woman No. 2, across the street) was annoyed because the auxiliary pickup truck & trailer had been parked in a way that blocked my driveway. Having heard from my neighbor about the rude, defensive behavior of the crew, I decided to take pictures of the pickup blocking the driveway as well as the truck with the bucket on it (so I'd get the name of the company right for making a complaint if necessary). The man with the pickup came running to me, very apologetic and asked if I'd like him to move the truck. No problem with that guy at all. He moved the rig around the corner. I was satisfied and ready to be done with them. However, one of the young hotheads came stomping over to me, asking me angrily what my problem was, they were only doing their job. I told them I had no problem with their job itself, but I was disturbed at their rude disregard for those who live around the worksite. I guess I must have disturbed the huge chip on his shoulder, because he leaned his face in toward me, spoke even more angrily, said our neighbor lady had been rude to him first (as if that mattered). He directed an F-bomb at me, then told me, among other things, to "get over yourself" and stomped back across the street. I have hired many contractors of various varieties to do work in and around our house & yard over the past 26 years. They have all, every one, been polite, respectful, considerate and accommodating to us and to our neighbors. And they've all gotten excellent recommendations and business referrals from me. These people seem to have gotten a lot of good reviews (mostly because of the bucket truck) here on Angie's List. However, I'm now wondering why! And I'm recommending NOT using this tree service, until they make some big changes in attitude toward the public. I do hope the immature hothead(s) on this crew get some serious anger management training, and perhaps even lose their jobs. If he/they can get so angry at a couple of women with requests/questions about their work, I hate to think how he/they are treating other people (especially women) in their lives. And, by the way, would a little more frequent engine maintenance, oil changes, etc., make the truck exhaust less overwhelming? It really was powerful. I was grateful to be unwind -- unlike my poor neighbor lady.

They had a machine that could raise a bucket with man 60ft high and were able to cut all the branches over hanging my roof and lower them to the ground with out hitting the roof. They were done in two hours and then cleaned up and the yard was very clean when they were done.

Shawn was removing a tree at my neighbors house and I went over and talked to him about some trees on my property. He came over to my place and gave me some great advice on what he felt needed to be done, pruning some, and removing two that were dying. He gave me what I felt was a good estimate to remove the two dying trees and I hired him to do just that at this time. I did not realize that because one of the trees to be removed was on the park strip, I needed permission from the city. Shawn told me about this and took care of getting permission for me so I would not be fined. Shawn and his crew showed up on time, were very pleasant and did a very nice job. Not only was nothing harmed, but when they were all through, they cut up what good wood there was for firewood, and blew all the debris from the front yard and driveway. I plan on having him come back in a few weeks to do the pruning that he suggested on the rest of the trees. I highly recommend Hodgson Tree Service. .

We are so pleased with the work of Hodgson's Tree Service. We contacted them for a bid to trim and cut some of the trees in the Woodridge townhouse complex of 28 units which is located in a beautiful large wooded area. We had used Hodgson several months earlier to remove and grind 8 tree stumpsand they were so accomodating and left the area in tip top condition that we chose to use them again. The day that they began the tree trimming was the first day of the big snowfall and most of us were stuck here for days. The tree trimmers showed up that day and worked for as long as they could and then had to wait it out until the following Monday. They were fabulous - their bid was more than fair and, in the process, they trimmed some trees that they discovered that weren't on the bid. They did not charge extra for that. There were four workers here most of the time and they were very courteous and left the grounds in a very neat condition. I did the initial walkaround with Sean and I was the contact person for them. They carried some of the wood up to my condo and stacked it and even overed to chop it. I let them off the hook on that but it was a sweet offer. I can't say ehough about the quality of their work and their professionalism in dealing with the job. It says something when you can satisfy 28 howmeowners. Sean Hodgson and his crew showed up on time, with superb equipment, and carefully/quickly removed the trees, cutting up some useful wood for my firewood stack (a bonus!) and taking away the rest. Knowledge: truly expert. Manner: honest, professional, courteous. Cost: very reasonable for the quality of the work. I would highly recommend this tree service!! P.S. Soon after the plum trees were removed, we had several storms which would certainly have caused those trees to fall. I'm so glad I took Sean's advice!

The big snow storm knocked down two huge limbs onto the front of our house. Tree companies all over town were busy and unresponsive to requests for help. I had two estimates, neither of which had a bucket truck. This company called back, showed up and did the Job in the midst of 50mph winds that threatened to take the rest of the huge tree down onto our roof! They were very careful to not step on my grouchy neighbors property, they had a basket that enabled them to do the job safely and efficiently.They cleaned every twig up to the point of not even being able to tell a huge tree filled our yard hours before! They were polite, professional and very efficient.
