 + 0 moreThis is the 4th time I have called Hegarty Plumbing. The response is so quick and the prices so reasonable. I have had him replace a water heater at my home, the work was clean and affordable and he removed the old one too. He also replaced a water heater at one of my rentals, came out on a Saturday to drain it and clean up the water until a replacement could be found on Monday...I have a house in escrow and the inspection found a leak in the tub under the crawl space. He went under went under the house, fixed the leak and provided all the paperwork for the inspector. The service has been excellent!
Description of Work: Replaced 3 water heaters. 1 at my primary residence. 2 at my rentals. repaired a leak from a spa tub under the crawl space for inspection. replaced an ignition for a water heater at a rental unit.

 + -1 moreMr. Hegarty was able to come out a day after we called. Additionally, Mr. Hegarty was extremely punctual, courteous, knowledgeable, and professional. Mr. Hegarty gave us a one hour arrival time window and arrived at the early end of the time window. It only took him about an hour to remove the old unit and install the new garbage disposal unit which is working great. He left the work area clean and as good as he found it. He even took away the old, defective unit so we didn't have to deal with disposing of the old unit. If you want plumbing services done by a quality vendor, at a fair price, then feel confident hiring Hegarty Plumbing Services for your plumbing services needs.
Description of Work: Hegarty Plumbing Services came out to replace our ancient (and was leaking) Garbage disposal unit. I have no plumbing skills nor patience for it, so I needed to hire someone to do this project.

 + 0 moreMy gas water heater went out on Friday and I gave Robert a call that morning. He was in the middle of a day of work already lined up but he squeezed in a 10-minute visit to see what the problem might be. He spent an extra 10 minutes fashioning a quick fix for my heater so I'd have hot water over the weekend and returned promptly on Monday to install the new part. His estimate and final bill were far less than another quote I'd received over the phone. I was a first-time customer he had no history with, but he treated me like family. He was great!
Description of Work: My gas water heater stopped working and Robert diagnosed a broken thermal release device (part of the pilot light and burner assembly). Robert fashioned an on-the-spot workaround for the broken part so I wouldn't have to go the weekend without hot water.(20 minutes time) He installed a new pilot burner assembly on Monday and verified everything was working correctly (30 minutes).

 + -1 moreHe got here and time, and was very polite and professional. It seemed like he may have fooled around with stuff that may have just need the cartridge changed. He said he had to pick up his grand kids from school. So, I actually got the cartridges myself and had him come back in a couple of days. It may have been a situation where he just didn't have time. I'm not used to having plumbers come out, but he was very nice and professional. I wasn't displeased, and he definitely knows what he was doing.
Description of Work: He replaced the cartridges in my kitchen and bathroom sink, the tub, and the toilet for the bathroom.

Description of Work: Following installation of new countertops in kitchen and 2 bathrooms, Mr. Hegerty reinstalled 3 sinks and faucets and hooked up the garbage disposal. He provided and installed a new hot water heater to replace one that was old and starting to not perform properly.

 + -1 moreRobert Hegerty is skilled, fair and prompt. This was the third time he has done some minor work for us, and as usual, every thing went well. On this visit, he fixed a couple of sink drains, and inspected a kitchen faucet which I will have him repair later. I like that he can make himself available in a relatively short time, does the work quickly and thoroughly, and tries to save money for us in not doing unnecessary things (one time I thought the garbage disposal needed replacing, but he said it could be easily fixed instead -- which is what he did.) I would definitely hire him again.

 + 0 moreOur water heater started leaking. It was on a weekend. I called Robert on a Sunday morning, left a message and he returned my call shortly thereafter. He said he would be out the following day with a new water heater, told me how much he charged an hour, how much the water heater would cost, and his fee for hauling the old one to the dump. Robert went to work immediately, wasted no time, removed the old tank, installed the new one and was finished in 1-1/2 hours. He's a man who definitely knows his business and I would recommend him as well as call him again

Description of Work: I have used Mr. Hegerty's services twice. Both times Mr. Hegerty was prompt. The first time he called as soon as he returned to his office and then came to our house within 20 minutes. He diagnosed the problem as a worn out water heater. I was pleasantly surprised that his quote for the unit plus labor was a lot less than I had paid a EWEB's contractor to put in the last one 12 years previous. The second time Mr. Hegerty came, he had to clean out some pipes to increase our hot water pressure. He took the time to show my husband how to clean out the pipes in the future. He also gave us a brief explanation about the plumbing in our house.

 + -1 moreMr. Hegarty confirmed the appointment time by telephone. When he arrived (at the time he stated he would), he put overbooties on his work boots so as not to track dirt into our home. He confirmed our diagnosis of the problem (the water line to the refrigerator had incorrectly been hooked into the hot water line when the home was built). He suggested a few different alternatives for remedying the problem, and we agreed that he would cut into the wall behind the refrigerator and run a new line from the cold water pipe. He did it, cleaned up, and was out of the house in a timely manner. Now, the chilled water dispenser in the refrigerator produces chilled, rather than hot, water. Job done.
Description of Work: We've used Bob Hagarty's service before and his performance on this job was, as expected, flawless. He communicates well, he acts professionally, he is pleasant personally, he does excellent work, and his prices are reasonable. What else do you need in a plumber?

Description of Work: Robert Hegarty fixed so many plumbing problems for me that it is impossible to list just one date. I was moving into a new house (built in 1964) which had a list of items which needed correcting from the home inspection. I had yet to sell my other house, which decided to present me with it's own problems just after listing the property. Robert came to my rescue each time I called, usually the same day or the first thing in the morning. You hear about plumbers that take their sweet time doing something because they are paid by the hour. This is certainly not the case with Robert. He never pauses in his work. He is knowledgable and gets the job done in no time. His rates are happily affordable; much less than I had imagined them to be with his prompt service. In the new house, he repaired a leak in the pipe under the guest bath tub, which required going into the crawl space under the house, fixed a leak in the shower head, installed three new toilets and three sinks with new faucets, installed a water line in the kitchen for the refrigerator ice maker, which again required going into the crawl space under the kitchen floor, installed a disposal, and fixed the shower head in the master bathroom. In the other house, he fixed a leak in the laundry, the master bathroom toilet, and a leak behind the wall by the water heater. For all this work, starting on 3-13-12 and ending in 6-1-12, the total cost was $843.00. I would recommend Robert Hegarty to anyone who needs a competent, knowledgeable, honest plumber.
