Had my housesitter call him about possible frozen pipes (Eugene had the most snow and coldest weather ever). He advised her over the phone that, in general, best to correct the problem of open garage door and wait to see if pipes would thaw without splitting. He said he was swamped or he would come out, but that there was nothing he could do until the thaw. He instructed her on how to check to see if the pipe going into the water heater had split.

Prompt, quickly diagnosed the problem and made necessary repairs. Shared additional information I may need about the hot water heater. Overall excellent service.

This is the third time I have called Mr. Hegarty and as always I was very satisfied with his work. He arrived promptly at the scheduled time and completed the replacement of two toilets in less than one hour. When entering the house, he always puts on shoe coverings, covers the work area to protect your flooring, and cleans everything up when he is done. During the process of replacing one of the toilets, he called me in to notify me of previous leakage damage to the flooring below the toilet. When I questioned him about whether this was a concern for safety, he assured me it was only damage to the upper layer. I knew that the toilet had leaked in the past, but I did not know how long it had leaked. We purchased the house only six months ago and had the previous owner repair the leak before we moved in. I appreciated his diligence in keeping me informed and setting my mind at ease. I had the option of disposing of the old toilets by myself or having them removed by him for $25. I was happy to pay him the extra cost to remove the old toilets, but also appreciated that he gave me that option. In summary, if you need a plumber, I highly recommend Mr. Hegarty: it is always easy to schedule an appointment with him, he is prompt, courteous, does an excellent job, stands by his work, and does all of this for an excellent price.

Responded quickly to phone contact, made an appointment for a couple of days later. Arrived on time, worked so fast we had to scurry to keep out of his way, everything works perfectly and he left no trace. He even took away the old fixtures for a reasonable fee. I would definitely recommend him.

I had one small water leak on my water service into my house, and when I dug it up to get a look at it I realized that someone before me had replaced most of the water line with sub-par schedule 20 pipe, the same stuff they'd used on the sprinkler system that I gave up on years ago. As I dug around it started to fall apart! I decided to tear it all out and replace it, but I wanted the plumbing done right, so I decided to find a professional. I was in somewhat of a hurry, and so I called several places. Robert came out and took a look, and gave me a bit of advice for the rest of the excavation, with the disclaimer that he does not usually take these kinds of jobs if there is any digging myself. I did all the digging myself (with the help of a rented Ditch Witch) and I can understand why he wouldn't want to do it -- it took me hours and hours of cutting roots and clearing the trenches to get it ready. Robert came by early on a Tuesday to do the install. Just as he had quoted, the entire process was less than an hour and he simply charged me his minimum plus materials. Highly knowledgeable and hard working, highly recommended!

Great. This is the second time I've turned to Robert for help. He is quick to respond, professional and friendly, efficient and straight-forward. He found leak under the house but outlined the reasons he couldn't fix them and told me exactly what to say to other plumbers I call to get the help I need. I'll hire him again no doubt about it.

I can't say enough good things about Robert and his service. It was the best experience that I ever had with a plumber. It took two trips to my home to determine if the PRV was really the problem and if so, what size valve was needed. He was very prompt, efficient and thorough. I am so happy to have the proper water pressure and volume again. Robert accumulated the time for both visits and didn't charge a minimum for each trip. I was very pleased with his service.

Because I have a hip problem, I couldn't move an upright freezer to get to the work area. Mr. Hegarty, assisted by my wife, moved the freezer out, did the work, and then put the freezer back in. Shower works great, and I'm a happy customer!

Robert is on time, fast, and EFFICIENT. The pipe was initially draining slowly, and even slower after the remodeling contractor worked on it. It is draining adequately now.

Came out same day he was called. Found two leaks in hot water lines. Fixed one leak, but had no access to second leak. An access hole was cut in the laundry room floor. Mr. Hegarty then returned and repaired the second leak.

Mr. Hegarty arrived and promptly wanted to put on shoe covers, which weren't necessary as we were already in a remodel. He was very professional. He provided some consulting work for free. We then determined we needed him to do a little more in-depth investigation for additional information. He did not make any kind of mess and was very friendly and informative.

Robert fit me into his schedule the same day that I called. I had a leak under my sink that had become more problematic after a homeowner attempted repair! Robert quickly identified the problems, installed a new faucet, and suggested and made several other modifications that just made everything under my sink better. I had purchased two very different faucets to possibly use and Robert suggested that we hold both in the "faucet area" to determine which we preferred. I would not have thought to do that. He is fast, competent, and smart and I'd use him again and again.

I called Robert for two non-emergency tasks: I wanted new faucets installed in my master bath (double sinks), and I also was having increasing problems with my kitchen sink faucet running very slowly. (1) I had selected my special order faucets and called Robert. He ordered them with his contractor discount and picked them up (that materials cost is not included above). The appointment was scheduled as soon as they arrived, and he arrived a bit earlier than his scheduled appointment. Even though it was a hot summer day, he wore booties to protect carpet. He installed the faucets and explained certain adjustments that were being made. (2) Relative to the kitchen sink, he checked out the faucet nozzle (that I'd previously replaced twice under warranty) which has a pull out spray hose, and as I expected, determined that it was shot and needed replacement. He also discovered that the blockage had resulted in a leak underneath the sink which fortunately appeared to be relatively recent. He advised that the hose sprays are commonly very problematic, and suggested that I replace the one combined unit with separate conventional faucet and spray hose, which I will. I will be calling him again soon to install the new units. I used Robert initially several years ago based on Angie's List recommendations, and have also called him since and gotten advice on the phone about how to deal with a plumbing problem on my own, successfully, so that the expense of a visit was avoided, as well as once when he recommended that I needed to call a roto-rooter service to resolve a problem. He is a great plumber and the epitome of professionalism.

Superior service in all respects. This was a difficult to diagnose and repair job done in a two story older home (built 1965). I expected the repair to cost more (took about 3.5 hours) and was surprised by Mr. Hagerty's billing. I offerred to pay more, but Mr. Hegarty refused, apologizing that it took as long as it did.

Robert returned my call the same day and was able to come to my house the next day. He quickly diagnosed the reason our kitchen faucet had such a low flow was because of a bad diverter, probably clogged due to galvanized pipes. He removed the diverter which fixed the flow problem. He showed me how to easily replace the diverter (to get the spray attachment going again) after we receive a replacement from the manufacturer. We had bought a new kitchen faucet just in case in case he couldn't repair the problem. A less scrupulous or knowledgeable plumber might have just installed the new faucet or taken the faucet apart piece by piece to search for the galvanization log jam (we had hired one of those types of plumbers before) making the bill much more expensive. I am grateful to now know about Hegarty Plumbing Services.
