I signed contract in June 2017 and was told job would be done in February 2018. I was willing to wait that long because they had such a good report on Angie’s List and with acquaintances I talked to. The roof was done in February. Communication was a weak link but the work done here was good. I have rated them so low because not all of the contracted work has been done. I called three times in February about the gutter replacement (which I know was just a tiny part of the whole job) and never received a call back regarding scheduling that part of the job. On the first call I was told that a different department did that work, not the roofers that had completed their job. I was transferred to a voice mail box and left a msg. I repeated that twice more. It is now coming upon the end of April and I still have a damaged section of gutter needing replacement. I am so disappointed in my experience. I really expected from my research that I could trust that the WHOLE job would be done in February. I will note that I was not charged for that portion of the work.

Hired their service for a pre-purchase home roofing inspection, paid extra for an inspection of the detached garage. What I got was a bid for replacing the roofing on the garage. Notes were made about the house roofing but appeared like they eye-balled it from the ground. Our general inspector made notes about gutter debris, moss, flashing issues and there is a rotten fascia board. None of which was mentioned in Evergreen's "inspection." I called their office and asked to speak with the inspector and was told he was in the field and they would call back. No one did. Called again, transferred to the inspectors phone and left a voicemail asking for a call back and still no one returned my call. Very poor job and even worse customer service.

Different. They had left me a message to call and set up a date. When I returned the call their mailbox was full so I couldn't find out anything. The crew showed up a few days later with no warning. Fortunately I arrived home right after they got there. They found the problem and fixed it quickly. Then left without saying a word. Everything turned out OK but it could have had a very different ending.

When installing the gutters, they noticed that the metal had blemishes throughout. They said they could not install a damaged material and came back the next day and finished the work. I really think I would not have noticed the problem, but they did and made sure the job was done perfectly. Work was efficient, workers cleaned up after themselves. If I had questions, they were promptly addressed to my satisfaction. They did a really nice job!

They were very quick to come out and give an estimate. But it took multiple calls and messages to actually get them to schedule a date to come out and do the work. It was really frustrating. When they come out they did a good job and cleaned up after themselves well. However, they missed some of the areas where there was damage and so the roof still leaked (albeit less so) when they were done. I had to call in a different roofer to find and fix the areas they missed. I would hire them again, but they would not be the first ones I called.

Crew arrived with no heads up or phone call they were coming. I understand it's a roof and I don't need to be there but a courtesy call would have been appreciated since an appointment date wasn't given. I had another work crew at the house at the time so it was difficult to observe what was going on between the two crews. The safety hooks appear OK and the roof was cleaned/treated. The issue with this review is specifically the gutter cleaning. They used a blower to clean the gutter but that only cleaned out the loose debris. It didn't do a good job of clearing out the debris that was wet (it was raining at the time) or anything that was caked up in the gutter. Pine needles and other tree related sludge tends to get caked up and stuck in the gutter like glue when they are wet and then dry out. It doesn't blow out easily. What was needed was someone to reach into the gutter and pull out the debris that wasn't blowing out. Based on the amount of debris still in my gutter, they clearly didn't do that. They also left 15-20 long nails in the gutter that were not there before. If this was a 1st story house I would have done the job myself but I hired Evergreen specifically because of the height of the roof. For the price I paid, I expected a clean gutter. The gutter was cleaner but as I look out my second story window at the gutter, there is still a noticeable amount of debris which is the reason for this review. I will not be using this company for a gutter cleaning again.

First contact came out to fix a roof leaking water into home, on an emergency visit, where I could not get other companies to come out such as River Roofing, a large company, who I had actually paid to come out and done inspection on roof only a year before when buy home and confirmed no problems to consider. Since they could not find record of installed this roof, they would not come out. Since they made such an excellent impression on me per professionalism and quality, we wanted them to replace roof subsequently. Andy was manager, who was very attentive before, during and after job. If questions come up, they always get back within 24 hrs if have non-urgent questions. Our home had concrete roof without underlayment or plywood, with additional work shed building not attached to home. While we wanted to go with Evergreen, based on their service when we had emergency water leak, I did check prices and they were competitive. I went with Evergreen because they established our trust when come out for emergency leak. Now, if I hear anyone may need roof care, I volunteer recommendation for Evergreen because I was that impressed with them, and roofing is such an important issue, that anyone who has had a stream of water entering their home off their roof drainage would appreciate as we did. When very heavy rain storms, many people will need help at same time. It helps to to have a company that is available for emergencies, and their is priority with all companies I called, to help first homes they have serviced before

Even though Evergreen didn't do any work for me, I wanted to leave a review because their phone service was highly professional and responsive. Many other contractors I called went to voicemail--sometimes even with full mailboxes--and often didn't return calls. Evergreen always picked up promptly, were easy to communicate with, and professional with booking times. I will definitely call them again when I have a need.
Description of Work: I only spoke with Evergreen by phone first to setup an appointment, then later to cancel that appointment. I didn't cancel the appointment due to any issues with Evergreen, but simply because the contractor who did the work the prior year was able to give me substantial discount.

Called Evergreen for a bid. They didn't show up the day they were scheduled and didn't call to explain. I called them and got them out another day. The guy showed up, went up on the roof and then didn't talk to me before leaving. Then they didn't send the estimate for several days. I had to call and remind them twice. Finally, I get the estimate and a job that has $25 dollars worth of materials and a 30 minute job max was bid at $395. That's easily two hundred dollars too much. They just saw me and thought, "sucker". DO NOT USE THEM. I got another bid from another company in one day, estimate in hand and at the right price. Evergreen will try to charge you based on how much they think you know about your roofing problem.

The service was quick, painless, and high quality. After having a few companies evaluate a couple of soft spots on the roof and try to sell me (unnecessarily) a pricy new roof system, I went with Evergreen because of their honest approach to my issue, and their eagerness to honor their original work and replace the damaged plywood at cost.

Evergreen Roofers did a good job replacing the entire roof of our duplex with materials we specified. (Time will tell about how well it lasts, but their reputation suggests it will be good on that score, too.) In terms of the general quality of the work, other people's reviews are very informative and appropriate, so I don't feel I need to go into detail. Our job was complex, with different kinds of roofing and preps needed in different parts of the roof, and problematic discoveries about the layers under the old shingles as they were removed. What stood out for me that I want to add here is the readiness with which the roofers dealt with a number of issues that came up during the job. They leaned over backwards to make sure I was satisfied with the outcome. This was very much appreciated and I recommend them.

Description of Work: Replaced the all the asphalt shingles on the roof of my house, When I discovered a problem in one section of their work, they replaced all the shingles in that section promptly, at no cost, and without question or hesitation. While doing that they discovered a problem in the wood below the shingles, and replaced that wood at no cost to me for labor involved. They stand behind their work. Evergreen replaced my old 3-tab shingle roof with new 30-year architectural laminate fastened with roofing nails. The crew came at 7:30am and were done by 3pm. They did a very good job of cleaning up, and I have only found some small bits of the tear-off and one or two nails under bushes or other non-obvious places in the yard. One of the crew was a smoker and I did find a few cigarette butts which is why I am giving them a B for professionalism. There was one minor issue with the installation, but Evergreen were very responsive and did their best to remedy the situation. The contract specified using staples on the overhangs to prevent fastener penetration, but this was not conveyed to the roofing crew. One area of the overhang was particularly bad with dozens of nails showing through an inch or more. The rest of the eaves had minor damage to the paint only. Greg came out the following day to inspect the eaves where the nails came through and sent back a few workers to repair the damage. Overall they did a good job of the repairs, getting the most seriously damaged spots, but overlooking a few of the minor areas. As they are roofers and not painters, I'm satisfied with the repairs, but will likely go back over some of the areas myself with additional paint.

We decided to replace our roof this year. I got estimates in late March from several roofing companies. I narrowed it down to a couple. Our previous roof was installed by Evergreen Roofing and after getting estimates and talking to the reps and the office staff with various questions I felt any of the roofing companies would have done a fine job based on reviews and BBB ratings and references; all prices were within a few hundred dollars and materials were comparable. We had the older 3 tab style which I hated for the slots which collected fir needles and other debris. We chose the laminate style which is an improvement over the 3 tab since the laminate design overlaps so there are no slots for debris to collect and it looks better. Over the years we’ve had minor issues that I noticed when I was on the roof and I would call Evergreen even though this was way beyond their warranty they were always very responsive so we chose Evergreen again. We set the date for May 22/23rd weather permitting of course. We had been told in advance that the weather could necessitate changes. It did, but we simply moved the date from the 22nd to the 23/24th. The crew arrived a little before 8a and we discussed what they were going to do and about how long it might take. Josh thought they would have the old roof off in a few hours and if things went well depending on the weather and if they found any issues after removing the shingles and the felt, that they may be able to finish the roof the same day. There were 4-5 crew and within a few hours they did have the roof off, another truck arrived with the felt/shingles and by 4:30p that day we had a new roof. The crew worked continuously except for one break we were aware of and they tried to be careful, though there were a few times they accidentally dropped a package of shingles on the roof when they were trying to move them and it was loud. One of our concerns was that we have dogs so we wanted to make sure that they did a cleanup of nails etc. in the backyard as well as the driveway and surrounding areas for the cars. They did try and limit the debris that came off the roof but that’s impossible. I do have foam material in my gutters to keep leaves and such out and one of the workers mentioned that usually a lot of the nails and other debris would fall into the gutter. My foam may have contributed to more of the nails etc. ending up on the ground. Not an unreasonable theory. However they did not spread any tarps or plastic along the ground in the areas near where they were working to possibly catch more debris. They did a good clean up of material and they had done a couple of sweeps of nails and metal. They did inform us they had one more vent to replace but they were one vent short so someone would be back the next day to finish that and to do another sweep for nails etc. After they left, I have a couple of magnets and I went around the most likely areas in the backyard and collected about two dozen nails, easily. The next day Greg arrived a little before noon, and agreed he’d replace the vent and then do a sweep of the back and front yard for nails and such. After he replaced the vent he also did an inspection of the roof and was satisfied that everything looked good. I showed him the amount of nails I found and he then did a sweep of the back and front yard. I meant to be with him in the back yard during his sweep but missed it so I’m not sure the areas he went over or how long he was in the back yard. I met him in the front yard and he was just starting to do the magnet sweep there. He found a decent amount of nails and it looked like we were good. He left. A little later my wife found one nail on the deck in the backyard so I pulled out my magnets again and we went over the same areas we had done before and I’m sure Greg had done; the areas below the roof and several feet out. Well, we found a couple of dozen nails. I even went and bought a rolling magnet from Jerry’s and ran it in the back and front yard again. I found easily a dozen or more nails in both locations. I know it’s impossible to prevent all nails and other debris from hitting the ground. Maybe using larger magnets, making multiple sweeps, laying down tarps would do a better job of collecting nails and debris. I have to admit my wife and I were surprised at how many nails we found in a relatively small area, and an area that probably was gone over by the crew and Greg. Evergreen did include a comment sheet with the invoice and I mentioned my concern and suggestions regarding cleanup and Sarah in the office said that she would make sure the owner saw my comments. It’s been less than 2 weeks since the roof was done and I went out yesterday with the magnet in one area where we had found the most nails and happy to report I didn’t find any. Knock on wood.
