The display had a black line running down it, but the computer was usable, so I asked the Eugene Mac Store to schedule an appointment. They refused. When I took it in on November 3, 2008, I was told that it might be looked at that day, but that it could take until the next day. I called on November the 5, and was told that the computer still hadn t been looked at. When I complained of the slow service, I was told that, for $90, I would be bumped to the front of the line of people waiting to have their computers repaired. I was dismayed by this offer. I called the store again on November 7, and was told by a different tech that my computer had been looked at, but that the part to repair it hadn t been installed. I asked this tech whether I could pay $90 to be bumped to the front of the line. He said that, no, the fee was $100, and that I might not be moved quite to the front. I asked if taking money to move people up in line was really store policy. He said it was. When I picked my computer up on November 10, I asked to speak to the store manager and was referred to Sue Chuey. Sue agreed that it is wrong for the store to take money for moving some customers ahead of other customers, but said that since few people choose this option, those who were there first aren t seriously delayed. I asked why, if she thinks it s wrong to sell people a better place in line, she does it. She said she only does it for businesses that really need their computers. I told her that neither of the techs I had spoken to asked if I owned a business. She offered no explanation. Seeing that I had my computer with me, she assumed that I was bringing it in instead of taking it home, and she offered to move me up in line for free. When I got the computer home, the colors were off (photos looked like impressionist paintings), but I waited ten days to take it back in because I anticipated being without it for a long time.
Description of Work: I took my computer to the Eugene Mac Store twice within a two week period for repairs related to the display. Both repairs were covered by my extended warranty.
