The window for these services are broad ... all morning or all afternoon! We requested a 12 - 5 appointment and to our surprise the gentleman arrive at about 1. It took a couple of hours to complete, but he was very patient and thorough and polite. Service is working well ... except when it's windy or stormy - then reception is sketchy.

It went very well from the initial phone call, they sent me a box, which I shipped it to them and it was sent back to me within 1 week. The service costs 19.95 per month and is worth the money!
Description of Work: I subscribe to the Direct tv protection plan. I had a problem with my laptop. It only cost me a $50 deductable and they repaired the laptop for me within 1 week

DirectTV has come to my home, trespassed, created a hazard, vandalized by drilling holes all over, acted menacingly and refused to return my home to the condition in which it was found. I believe it is reasonable to ask them to take responsibility for their employees' and subcontractors' actions and make this right. It is unethical to waste equipment this way, when they could install it someplace else. It would be the same as me going to the office in Colorado to have a meeting, screwing folding chairs to the floor and leaving. I have written to the President of the company in Colorado: "Please remove your property from my building. I hope you will consider remedies for your poor customer service, your poorly supported, ill-equipped and insufficiently trained technicians and work toward having greener policies regarding your equipment."
Description of Work: Installed equipment unsafely on the roof without landlord permission, sold service to an elderly tenant when there is no place on the building that will be able to continue service with the new construction in the area, drilled holes all over seeking a new position and did not refill, refuse to remove the dish from the dangerous position on the roof.

I called Direct TV and spoke to a operator who knew nothing about the new rule about not going on to the roof, I explained that I now had a dish on the roof that didn't work and have been without a TV for 2 days and what was I suppose to do, they couldn;t give me an answer so I cancelled the service. If Direct Tv makes a new ruling about their techs not being allowed to go on to the roof to fix the dish that THEY installed we as the customer should of been notified of such a rule. Why when I called to schedule this appointment wasn't I asked where on the roof was my dish! and told that if it wasn;t accessible by ladder that the tech wouldn't be able to fix it if he had to step onto the roof, did she also not know of this new rule!! I am so glad that I had 4 roofers here to witness this madness.
Description of Work: Had a new roof insatlled and when the dish was put back exactly where it was and in the same holes by the roofer my TV did not work, I called Direct TV and told them the problem and they said they would send a tech out the following day, At noon 2 techs with ID badges stating "Multibands" arrived and I told them the problem, they then informed that they could not go on the roof to move or fix the dish, when I asked why not they told me that it was a new rule with Direct TV that no techs were to go onto the roof, if the dish coud not be reached by a ladder then there was nothing that they could do. My dish was in the middle of my roof! They called several supervisors and were told they could NOT step onto the roof , the 4 roofers that were still here offered to move the dish in whatever direction needed for it to reach the satellite but the techs said they could not alllow them to do that, My service order was cancelled by the main office and they left,

I would give them A's all the way through. They have excellent service; they are very responsive. I always see these adds for new customers to get all these goodies so I call them up and say "I'm an old customer, what are you going to give me?" and they give me something! If you speak up you generally get something. I will absolutely continue my service with them.

I am happy with them. I don't have any complaints. The service is good. There is one thing I don't like about them. I have called them and it is not a secret. This may be true with the other providers also. If we look at the web site, they have got four different packages out to advertise and I live alone and I don't watch excessive amount of TV and mostly what I watch is news stuff. I don't really sit down for like 2 to 3 hours and watch a movie, so I had called them sometime ago and the cost is going up every year and I said look I don't want to pay this much for something I don't use very much and I had a package and it has 100s of channels and when I look on the web site, it was nothing cheaper. Then, I called the customer service and low on behold, they do have a cheaper package, but they don't advice us. In anyway, she is somewhat obliged to be honest and she told me about this other package and I now have and it is called the select package. Apparently, that is the cheapest thing that they offer. The only other thing that we can do is we could always just for local station, which is New York City where we get a lot of local stations, but I want to get CNN and a few other channels, so I didn't want to go just for the local package. My only criticism would be I asked her specifically that you guys are thinking about or planning to allow customers to pick their own stations and charge him by stations and she said no we are not doing that. At this point, we are stuck with the packages. My feeling is that even the package I have now which is the cheapest is a lot more than I need. I get my bills towards the beginning of the month and specifically I get my Verizon bill in the first week of the month. My last bill was $131.07, which is not bad and that includes phone, high speed internet line, and direct TV.
