Perfectly. Zero issues.
Description of Work: I used CrossTown Movers for a move in Eugene on Oct. 2. Boy, was I impressed at how amazingly smooth it went!! Luke and his crew (Joe and Josh) arrived on time and wasted no time in loading their truck. They had a great attitude and never once complained about all of the stairs (and trust me, there were a lot of stairs). Even though they were being paid hourly, because it was in in-state move, they didn't waste a minute and worked their butts off and the finished up earlier than the estimated time. I wholeheartedly recommend using this company for your next move.

Description of Work: They moved my furniture and belongings to my new condo. Everything was already packed. The distance was only 7 blocks. They were very personable and careful with everything, and broke down then later reconstructed my queen size bed. I was very pleased with the work and the price. Shortly after I recommended them to friends with a much bigger and longer distance move and they were equally pleased.

Description of Work: Dave and his partner helped us in the downsizing move from Elmira to Eugene. Forty years worth of "stuff" couldn't fit into the new house. So Dave and another partner came to haul the overflow to a storage unit. In both instances the Bekins crew was on time, enthusiastically energetic and proficient. If we move again, and I hope we don't," I would use Bekins again. | |

Description of Work: Loaded up at my house and then went to storage and got a big load there (all on the same truck). Some of the stuff in the storage wasn't packed well but they found ways to protect things. There was an upright piano and a very narrow doorway to get it through. They were efficient, industrious and friendly; pointed out a few problems with my furniture (table was falling apart) so that there would be no confusion about damage along the way. They were cheerful and friendly. They did get lost on the way to my new place, which is very isolated, but they got there and got everything unloaded. Very nice people and I would definitely use them again.

Description of Work: Removed all furniture including upright piano and packed in two 8 X 8 X 15 foot storage containers which were stored at their business until after our carpets were replaced with wood flooring. Then returned all items to original places. Gordon and Eric were very courteous and efficient. Couch and recliners were wrapped in shrink wrap, doors on cabinets secured with shrink wrap ties and items with drawers also shrink wrapped.

Description of Work: They helped us load a moving truck. They were slow, yet managed to damage our valuables from minor scuffs to broken drawers in our heirloom furniture. | |They raved about how good they were but arrived 20mins late because they ran out of gas, they did call to let us know they would be late...5mins prior to the job. | |We offered to help because they were moving so slowly, they said no they had it under control and bragged about their previous successes. We found disassembled furniture, which they never sought our permission ahead of time, it took us a few weeks to locate the screws & brackets...we still cannot find the brads for our bookshelves! | |On the way to our new home, we didn't realize how off centered the truck was until the truck almost flipped on its side! It was a bit scary, when we arrived to our destination, the cause of our near accident was due to the way they loaded our antique, upright piano. And they loaded our Curio cabinet next to it?! | |They may say they move pianos and know what they are doing, but they do not! Please heed this review as a warning and save your money, do not use Cross Town Movers.

Description of Work: They brought a container/pod and loaded it and stored it in Eugene until we were ready. Top notch job! They ended up being about $400.00 over their estimate, but I did not complain as it was a phone estimate and they got it done as agreed. I was a little put out that they would not honor a 5% Angie's list discount that I received. They said they had cancelled it and I could not benefit from the coupon that I had which was still valid until I asked for it. Then they called Angie's List and withdrew the discount and said it was over and in error. Their work was very good though and I would recommend them.

We had movers scheduled for the day before that canceled 2 hours before they were supposed to arrive. Crosstown Movers were able to get us on the schedule the next day. They were professional, fast, extremely carefully and friendly. Couldn't have been more pleased.

The movers were four hours late. I paid $300.00 (including a tip that my husband insisted on paying) for three guys for 1 1/2 hours. I paid for 30 mins drive time for these guys. Wish someone paid me to drive to work each day and drive home again. Not work the $$.

Response from Cross Town Movers
As far as the time of arrival is concerned, we cannot always be there exactly when the customer would prefer although we always do our best to meet our projected start times. It is not uncommon with moving for the scope of a job to change and cause it to go a bit longer than expected. Often times when a customer sees how quickly and efficiently our crews work, they ask us to move more of their items than they had originally planned. In these cases where our first job goes long, we are always in touch with our second customers to keep them apprised of the situation and to update them about our projected ETA. Whenever possible we will see if we can redirect another crew to cover these jobs but that is not always feasible. That is why all of our afternoon jobs are always booked with flexible arrival times, which is clearly stated to the customer at the time of the booking. We do ask for all of our afternoon customers to be a bit flexible with us but if we were truly four hours late, that would be far outside of what we could consider normal. A three man unloading crew costs $181.35 for 1 ½ hours which is quite cheap, or at least very competitive, for this area. ALL moving companies that are licensed, bonded, and insured are required to charge hourly for local moves which includes drive time to and from the customer’s house. This is also clearly stated to the customer when they book the job, so it should come as no surprise. The quality of the service could not have been too bad based on the fact that the husband insisted on tipping the crew. Tipping is certainly optional and usually indicates that someone is very pleased with the work we provided. The fact that Cross Town Movers performs over 70% of all moves in our market should show that most people are happy with our work, especially since a large portion of them are referrals or repeat customers.

The movers were punctual, professional, and friendly. They clearly had experience in moving heavy items, and nothing was damaged. In short, they treated all of our property as if it were their own.
