Michael Cordes has done a lot of work for us over the past several years. He has replaced siding, subcontracted a roof, done gutter and roof maintenance among other misc work. He does a lot of work himself and subcontracted some as well. Any subcontracted work is done by hand-picked individuals that he is familiar with and approves of. If you want the cheapest guy in town, you probably don't want Mike, but if you want someone who will stand by his work 150%, then he should be high on your list. Let me give you one example: He subcontracted a new roof for us about 3 years ago. We paid extra for algae (not to be confused with moss) protection that had been chemically incorporated into the roofing materials during manufacture. Here in Oregon that's a foolhardy thing to guarantee against. Sure enough, two years later, here came the algae. I am a Public Health Microbiologist. I took some photos through the microscope and sent them to Mike Cordes. He went to the roofing materials manufacturer and demanded satisfaction for us. By the time it was all over, the roofing materials manufacturing company had paid for two roof treatments and refunded us $1,000 (one thousand) dollars.

We had Michael Cordes install a gas fireplace, mantel, surround, etc. We appreciated his professionalism in keeping appointments or calling ifhe was going to be late, etc. I could rely on him. He used wonderful sub-contractors, all very careful, considerate and extremely competent. Michael coordinated it all and went the extra mile several times meeting with the custom mantel provider with us as well as coming to the tile/marble store and fireplace store with us. He was very patient and I was fussy! He was responsive to suggestions, etc., very collaborative. He did the job in the time frame he promised and I would recommend him as a contractor. Hard to find someone with such a good work ethic these days.
