Some trees have to come down. A tree that’s a hazard needs to go. But if that tree is on a property line, the community minded thing to do is to let your neighbor know. And pro tip, don’t hire this business. Because even if you don’t care enough to notify your neighboring property owner, it’s not the best case scenario to worsen your reputation further by being associated with this outfit. Because when your property line neighbor shows up to ask questions about what’s going on, they’ll get verbally abused in a totally unnecessary way. Property line trees are one of those things you should try to handle in a respectful way. It’s just a matter of what’s legal, after all. But the man in charge of this crew seems to believe that yelling, name calling, and ordering people off the property helps the situation.
Description of Work: I’m a neighbor who witnessed the unpleasant and unprovoked abuse.

Response from S & J CUTTING TREE SERVICE
[Member Name Removed] m sorry for the inappropriate behavior of my crew member. [Member Name Removed] was the one running the crew, once [Member Name Removed] noticed what was happening [Member Name Removed] came out of the tree and spoke with you myself. [Member Name Removed] did, and still do, apologize for his behavior. In our conversation [Member Name Removed] explained why the tree needed to come down. [Member Name Removed] love trees. This is my life’s work and at my company we try to preserve trees as much as possible, but unfortunately that tree needed to come down as it was a hazard for the community and the surrounding buildings. The crew member that had made inappropriate comments has received warnings in the past and this was his last strike, he has been let go. Once we found out no one had notified you we did cease work for about an hour to resolve the issue. Again [Member Name Removed] apologize for his behavior. [Member Name Removed] believe we handled that situation as best we could due to the unforseen circumstances.

We had one tree that had came out of the ground at an 45 degree angle and went up straight after two feet, it was too dangerous for anyone to attempt to cut it but he climbed up the tree and did the job. There was a breeze and the tree kept swaying as he was climbing up. Now he had to be very careful about this as I was worried about the branches falling off in my neighbor s yard. So he had to time his cut according to the swaying of the tree so that it will land right below and he succeeded in parking it right where he wanted. Then he started coming down the tree cutting it section by section. It was quite fascinating watching him. He cleaned up the mess to our satisfaction. We also used his chipper machine that was charged on an hourly basis. To my surprise they chipped out all of the wood under an hour, which was fast. The whole experience was really good.
Description of Work: Bryan Myers came out for the job and did what I call a high tree service. He climbed up of several trees and cut out the lower branches and hangers that were damaged due to fire and wind.

Steve came the next day after I called to give us a bid. We called a few days later to arranged for him to do the work. They came on time and prepared to complete the project. He and his family were very nice to work with. He was very safety conscious. The tree he cut down was nearly 80 feet tall and he felled it exactly where he promised it would go. He limbed it up and he went up and cut the trunk into sections as he came back down. We were very pleased with his careful work and his safety awareness. I would not hesitate to use him again, and feel very comfortable in recommending him to others.
Description of Work: We had Steve limb up an old growth Fir near our house, and cut down a bent Butt tree that was leading over near a building. He and his family chipped up the debris, put the chips where we wanted, and cut the remaining branches into firewood. The tree he cut down was left for a log truck to pick up later. We hired him to climb up into the trees and do the work another logger wouldn't do. The other logger will take the less troublesome trees and cut them for a truck load to sell. The two trees Steve helped us with were problematic and one of his specialties is dangerous tree removal.
