SHELLEY'S DIVINE CLEANING SERVICE

Shelly got there about half and hour late. She informed me the day I spoke with her that she might bring some else to work with her and that if she did it would take half the time. I said fine. I also said a number of times that it needed a lot of work, and I did say it had been a year or two without a DEEP cleaning because I have been sick. Her quote over the phone was no more than $200. When she arrived she did bring another person, her teenage daughter. She didn?t say that her daughter was a teenager. I know a lot of teenagers and none of them know what real cleaning is. I assumed that her daughter was an adult, I was not very happy that she was not. I was hesitant from the start but thought that since they were there and I didn't have any days to spare that I would let them do the work. I showed them the house and explained what I needed. I was in and out during the time that they were working. 4 ? hours later I came back in the house when I saw them loading the car. I took a very quick look around because she seemed to be in a hurry and handed her the folded bills,($140.00). When she left and I came back in I started checking more closely and found that the furniture had not been moved off of the rug and it still had dirt and dog hair all over it. I found that she had wiped the front half of the buffet, but never bothered to pick things up and dust/clean them, and wipe the whole surface. She said that she cleaned out the pantry, organized and put it all back, there?s still a bad smell in there, I did not feel that it had been cleaned. She told me that she threw away the old food and cleaned refrigerator, there was still a lot of moldy food and a bad smell. At one point earlier when I thought that she was finished with the wood floors I came in to hook up the rug cleaning head on my Kirby vacuum , but was told that her daughter know how and had already done it. Her daughter did not know how to hook up the vacuum which is why all she was able to do was push the dirt around the rug, something again that Shelly did not notice. I specifically asked her to make sure to clean the fan hood and it was only somewhat washed, I also asked her to wipe the drawer tops and there are still dry tomato seeds left there. The dinning room table was not touched.. The upstairs shower was not touched, even though I left the shower cleaner right there in the shower, and since the bottle was moved I have to conclude that her daughter did see it. Of the money I paid Shelly, I expected her to pay her daughter a small amount of her pay for helping her, not as an equal partner (that, she was not). So, for 4 1/2 hours at $25. per hour, I OVERPAID her. She made the price and she never did say that the other person would double the price just shorten the time. At her price I should have paid her.( $25. x 4 ? hours = $112.50) not the $140.00 that I did pay her. Even if I did consider her daughter an equal partner and paid as such, the cost would have been $225.00 not the $250.00. that she claimed I owed. No cleaning service would try to pawn off a child as a full working employee. I did NOT get what I paid for, if I had checked things before left she (which was my fault) I would not have paid her even that much. Shelley always shows up on time. She has never been late. I live in Hillsboro and she is here with a smile. I have 2 dogs and a very messy Husband, this does not bother her. She takes her time and gets into all the corners. She will do anything you ask of her, even to making the beds and washing windows, etc. She works for me 2 hours twice a month. She even sees things to be done that I don't see. We love her. Sometimes if her schedule is busy she will bring her adult daughter to help. She is the owner and does all her own work, which I like. She is very responsible and careful. Her prices are reasonable.
