Services we offer
Primary services are interior and exterior painting, we also do minor wood replacement on our paint jobs as necessary. Power washing comes with all of our paint jobs, but we can also do power wash only jobs. We can also do Moss treatment, gutter cleaning and roof cleaning add-ons. We also do event and Christmas light installation and removal through: Uptown Lights
Services we don't offer
We do not do major siding repairs, roof repairs, or structural work. Generally we don't subcontract or do subcontracting.
Uptown Painting did some "911" patching work on our house last year (sealing, fixing rotted areas, etc) and a full house painting this year. High-quality work, lots of communication, and timely finish. If you want to work with a company that does it right, they're tough to beat.

Ben from Uptown Painting was fantastic to work with from the initial bid appointment through the design consultation and completion of the project. He is professional and knowledgeable. Ben’s attention to detail was evident in his initial walk around and assessment of what needed to be done as well as the finished product. When the day to paint arrived, Ben and Elijah arrived on time and prepared to work. These two were not only hard working but personable, respectful, and polite too! The initial bid proposal included detailed information regarding the scope of the project. In all cases, the detailed list of project items were completed. - House and garden shed exteriors were prepped by pressure washing, scraping, and sanding. - Peel bond and primer were applied to areas as needed. - There was a daily walk through of project progress. - Daily cleanup of job site. There was exceptional communication throughout the painting project. The team was able to work with my schedule, provided punctual service, and partnered with my goals to complete a top-notch painting project... all in a two day time span. I would absolutely hire this company again! [The cost of service listed does not include cost of paint, which I elected to purchase myself]

We too were enticed by the tithing and "10% discount" offered as a result of booking related to the Homeowners' Show. Andrew, the owner, was friendly and appeared to be knowledgeable so we felt good about our decision. He was very helpful with color selection, and eagerly accommodated our changes as we went through the process. Then the work began. Their team did not prep the surface well, poor pressure washing, butt joint prep, and caulking, etc. They brought a "trainee" and put him on difficult and intricate work. We have found that they painted over spider webs, wasp nests, and bug cocoons, while missing other spots entirely. My wife and I spent our summer with a paint can and brush touching up their work. I'm concerned that we will be painting again very soon. Our front door was poorly prepared and within a few days, that paint was peeling off. It will have to be completely stripped and re-painted. Our patio cover was removed for an additional charge and re-installed afterwards. It was reinstalled improperly and now leaks in several areas. When I had an email correspondence with him about this issue, the owner quoted the fine print on the back of their contract, stating that they are not responsible for acts of God (or really anything else). I would not recommend this vendor.

We selected Uptown Painting (Compassion Entrepreneurs LLC) because it was a “Christian based business” and we were enticed by their selling point that “10% of every job goes directly to the charity option of the client's choice”. We accepted their proposal for $5,072.00 and we designated Seed Faith Ministries in Uganda to receive our $507.00 donation. Sadly, this turned into a very disappointing experience. It started poorly with unrealistic promises (Job Duration: 02 Aug 2017 through 09 Aug 2017 ; not the “2-5 days” in the original proposal), questionable workmanship (“don’t worry, the paint will clean the dirt”), and so many other issues (e.g. the attempt to substitute the washable “medium luster” paint for the kitchen and bathrooms to the “low luster” paint because, “ the store doesn’t carry that in this colour anymore.”). After a couple of days of frenzied chaos accompanied by confusing and contradictory statements, this “team” was (mostly) replaced by a second team. This group communicated clearly, worked at an even pace, and had a logical work plan. The B-Team picked up the pieces and completed the job eight days after the start date. We realise that Uptown Painting is a new company with much to learn. Here are a few comments and suggestions that we hope will help them succeed. • Identify perceived “out of scope tasks” immediately. This would avoid springing surprise extra charges on the client at the time of the final payment. • At time of payment, provide the client all relevant paperwork. Avoid asking the client, “Do you have a copy machine?” • Show up when you said you will, or contact the client to inform them of unforeseen delays. • Understand that surface preparation is an important element in a good paint job. This includes dusting/washing walls and trim, removing ceiling lights/vents and bathroom vanities, spackling nail holes and caulking gaps. • Make use of masking tape and drop cloth. Even painters with outstanding technique cannot prevent splatter when using a roller on the ceiling. • Be considerate. Paint brushes washed in the kitchen sink without permission or leaving tools on the carpet because “This might be your home but it’s our job site” is rude and unsafe. • Minimise the number of trips away from the job site to collect supplies and/or equipment. • Organise tasks (e.g., “didn’t bring the right ladder” three days in a row indicates poor planning). • Understand how common household items work. (e.g. painting hinges means that doors won’t function properly, saying “I have no clue” how to remount window blinds that were removed is poor form. Reinstall fixtures such as door knobs and towel holders where they came from, with their original screws, and right side up. • Be forthcoming about damaged items. (The missing/cracked power outlet covers were identified but the broken window latch, curtain rod, and telephone outlet covers were not.) At the moment, we are busy scraping paint from hinges, cleaning paint splatter off door knobs and counter tops, and trying to decide what to make of a section of paint that’s sticky to the touch and not drying properly. We hope these comments are helpful. God bless.
