Description of Work: We can't recommend Jay more highly!! Prompt response to our call and an equally quick response to our needs. Jay went out of his way to repair a few items in our home, just prior to our holding an Open House. He's coming back today, for a few more things we want him to do for us. I've been recommending him to friends and neighbors for the past week now! Probably the most qualified "handyman" I've ever had the pleasure to work with. Don't think you can go wrong with Jay!

Description of Work: Jay performed small repair work at my house. He was professional and very communicative.

Description of Work: "We had various jobs that needed to be done on our manufactured home and Jay came over to do an assessment. Since he had a lot of work already scheduled he wasn't able to do the work for a few weeks, but that was ok as they were not urgent. He also checked back with us to make sure we still needed the work done and he came by again to figure out what materials he would need for some of the work. |One of the main jobs was work on the front and west side skirting. Originally we thought we would need new skirting but after examining it during his original assessment he said the wood was solid and would just need to be scraped down and repainted. He also replaced the door on the small opening to access our water shut-off valve. Another job was replacing the dryer vent as it had a large hole in it. In addition he put a dryer vent cover on the outside. He cleaned up debris in the crawlspace left from a previous job before we owned the home. We thought the pipes needed insulation but after he was in the crawlspace he said they were already insulated. Plus a section we thought needed to be propped up more was sufficient already. He was able to finish all the work in one day. |We appreciate Jay's integrity in telling us what he would and would not be able to do (i.e., we would need someone with a plumber's license for one of the jobs we originally asked about). We were going to be gone several hours the day he was doing the work so he had us sign some paperwork in case the neighbors wondered if he was supposed to be there. Again, we appreciate his thoroughness in covering all the bases. And that he didn't say work would need to be done that really didn't need doing, thus saving us money, and he left us the paint can so we could use it for any touch-ups in the future. Plus we got the senior discount!"

Description of Work: The breaking of our hot water line left plumbers with the choice of jacking up the floors or going through the walls because that part of the house is on a concrete slab. They ran new lines through the ceiling and walls to bathroom and kitchen from the hot water heater. Needless to say, this left a considerable mess, including large open areas of wall and ceiling. Jay patched, painted, installed a new vanity and medicine cabinet (which replaced the one that had to be removed anyway to repair that wall), and did a great job. He is a craftsman who takes pride in his work.....kind of rare these days. |

Description of Work: Replaced door knobs, installed ceiling fan, patched holes and touch up paint, repaired leaking faucet. Jay was quick to repainted and able to fit me in quickly in his busy schedule. Will use him for future needs.

Description of Work: Moved a set of kitchen cabinets 2 inches higher so that it could accommodate a new refrigerator. J was able to do it in a reasonable time and the outcome worked perfectly. We were very pleased.

Description of Work: I got his name and number off Angie's list and called. He came the next day, right on time. I had about 6 items, "honey-do's," that my husband can't or won't do -- he completed them in an hour and even stayed a few minutes after to put together our new Dyson. I would call on him again whenever I have work to be done.

Description of Work: Our mailbox stand was hit hard by a car in the middle of the night. The car tore the entire unit out of the ground, and carried off the stand. We asked Jay to install a replacement. Jay installed the replacement stand in a very careful and professional manner. He worked cooperatively with me when I suggested a slight modification to the bracket on the newspaper tube. The final result is a new mailbox/newspaper stand in front of our house that's plumb, sturdy, and attractive. The price was fair and I'm satisfied. I've asked Jay to come back and do another job for me.

Description of Work: I was impressed! Vendor came out as scheduled and advised that I didn't need the work done! Honesty is very refreshing and I will definitely call them again!

Description of Work: He was very honest about the estimate - saying he wouldn't really know until he had begun the job - which worried me. However after he began the work, the final cost was less than he estimated - because the job did not require as much work as he thought it might. He fixed the tiles in our shower - and wasn't sure of the condition of the wall behind the tiles until he removed some fo the damaged tiles. The work was done very well.

Description of Work: Jay regrouted all the tiles in one of our bathrooms, actually correcting work done previously by someone else. He was punctual, neat, polite, and did excellent work. Jay also put up some cabinets in our shed. He is a true professional.

Description of Work: Refinished front door. Installed storm door.

Description of Work: We hired this company to repair several walls and the ceiling in our one living area. The person that came out to do the work appeared to be the owner. He repaired the tape between the sheet rock on the ceiling and matched the texturing. He also smoothed out a wall that had been covered with paneling and textured that to match the other walls. He re-trimmed the windows and doors in this room to match the rest of the house. He also fixed other visible cracks and imperfections on the other walls. Oh, and he put some baseboard down that was needed as well.

Description of Work: Hung 2 bedroom doors, replaced molding on one, fixed pocket door that was off the track. Replaced hall light fixture and dining room light fixture. Repaired light switch in Family Room. Replaced kitchen faucet and repaired leaky pipe. Included in bid was installing a bifold door and 2 screens for my patio doors. I provided the wrong size so that hasn't been done yet, Jay was very nice about my goof.

Description of Work: Jay removed a floor-to-ceiling built-in bookcase from my living room, repaired the wall and re-did the ceiling. He also installed a laundry tub and hooked up my washer and dryer. He fixed and installed outdoor security lighting, removed an old satellite dish and antenna, secured loose railings, and cleaned the roof and gutters. He removed barn planking from a wall in the guest room and finished the wall there, as well as removing a counter and re-finishing a wall of an area in the kitchen. He installed dead-bolts in 3 doors, removed the tile surrounding the bath and replaced it with tiles of my choice and design. He also replaced 2 ceiling fans and a chandelier, and put in oak backsplash for all my kitchen counters.

Description of Work: He fixed some drywall and we have rehired him since.

Description of Work: Front porch light fixture did not work after I replaced the bulb, lock set needed to be replaced in back door, sidewalks in front and back of house all needed cleaning.

Description of Work: Jay repaired and replaced the the window sill and surrounding woodwork of a large window. He fixed a pocket door and the surrounding wall and woodwork. He also repaired several sections of drywall that had been damaged by water, etc.

Description of Work: Jay completed several home repairs including caulking, siding, removing suspected mold in the attic, repairing water damaged posts and a door threshold in our crawl space, cleaning up old water damage, and installing new divertors at foundation vents.

Description of Work: Jay rebuilt our front steps and added a hand rail, bringing it to code.

Description of Work: I had a client who had negotiated a doggy door to be removed from a newer home. The seller was upset about having this done. I gave my client Jays number, he was out there the next day. Gave her a price. Which the seller thought was very reasonable.
