I called for an estimate to have my asbestos house siding removed. On the phone, Doug said they don't do residential. The company services description is wrong on Angies List and even on their website (which says they do residential and low-dollar jobs). It appears they have also changed their name.

We decided to remodel our bathroom and the flooring company tested the linoleum and found that it had asbestos in the backing and would need special treatment for removal. After checking the steps one needs to take to do it yourself and being worried about a person in the house with existing lung problems, we decided to have this done professionally. It seemed like a lot of money to do this small job but IRC's bid was less than 1/2 of another company and they were easy to work with to set a date that fit in the timeline for the project. They bid the job over the phone but followed up with an e-mailed bid. We set the date in advance and on the day of service thay contacted us as to expected arrival time. Chad and Gary were the techs who came out. They were friendly and efficient. Went about setting up the safety equipment and performed the service saw cutting pieces and pulling them up. We were surprised that they ran into a second floor under the one we could see. They said that this linoleum didn't look like the type that has asbestos but we decided the best way to proceed was to remove it all back to the subfloor decking. This was what we and the flooring company had envisioned when we started. They removed the entire floor for the bid price. They bagged up and sealed all of the removed flooring and sawdust. Removed the dust with a special filtered vacuum cleaner and wiped down the walls and floor with wet cloth. They also sealed the lower walls with encapsulating paint which saved us having to cut off the lower portion and then replace the wall board. They left a clean and neat area which was now ready for the next step in the remodel. They sent a detailed report of what they did and where they disposed of the contaminated material. They performed the job exactly as they said they would in the time period that they promised. I hope I don't have to use them again but I would recommend this company to anyone who needs this service. The techs were nice, communicated easily and involved us when decisions needed to be made.
Description of Work: Remove asbestos laden linoleum bathroom floor. Provide asbestos abatement service for appr. 9x9 bathroom. Set up safety equipment: tape off and double shield door, negative pressure device with evacuation tube out the window, special garbage bags. Cut out and pull up flooring including linoleum and underlayment. Found a second linoleum floor and removed this in the same manner at no extra charge. Cut out floor back to sub floor decking. Bag up all debris in sealed bags. Vacuum floor and wash floor and walls to remove dust. After confering with the remodelling contractor they used special paint to encapsulate and seal any asbestos that might be left on the lower walls where the cove base was removed. This will be covered over with new cove base. Haul away and dispose of all debris. Provide a detailed report of the service provided and steps taken.

Company exceeded our expectations. Estimate was the most detailed of the three companies solicited. Estimate was "middle of the road", but was the only company that was willing to attempt the work in one day without us asking for this requirement specifically. Work crew was very professional, and stayed late in order to finish in one day. Doors and curtains replaced with care, and there was attention to detail shown in all rooms. Work site was left cleaner than when they arrived. No damage to drywall or other surfaces occurred.
Description of Work: Remove asbestos positive floor tiles and sheet vinyl from approximately 700 square feet of living space. Included removing ceramic tile over the 9x9 floor tiles in the bathroom. House is built on a concrete slab foundation. Made every attempt to perform the service in one day.

IRC was wonderful to work with. Ken's estimate was literally half as much as the other asbestos abatement companies I talked to and yet he offered exactly the same services that they did. He was very patient in explaining the process to me, and I was incredibly impressed with his crew. Ken had estimated that they'd need a full day to remove the asbestos and ductwork from our enormous 1924 octopus furnace, but the IRC crew was finished in only three hours! They were very professional and courteous, very clean (especially important in abatement), and sealed off all of our vents and doors during the process. We were still able to move comfortably through the house while the abatement took place in the basement. Though Ken had asked the crew to remove only the asbestos wrapping from the furnace and to cut the ducts near the basement ceiling, the crew ended up removing all the of the ducts and more than half of the furnace -- and at no extra charge. IRC made what could have been a stressful project very easy on us. I highly recommend them.

We had called several companies and all they would do is check for asbestos. Then we called IRC and they would actually do the job for us. We thought it was very good pricing as well. They showed up on time, were very professional, and explained exactly what they were doing and why. We were very happy with this company in every way.
Description of Work: We had them remove all of the asbestos tape in our heating and air conditioning duct work throughout the house. We have a 1700 square foot home. They also replaced the tape with non asbestos tapping.

I was very pleased with the service from IRC. They called me back right away and sent a representative to look at the site and give me a bid. Since I was on a deadline to have the asbestos removed they sent the bid back that day by email.
Description of Work: I needed to replace an old oil furnace and first remove the asbestos around the furnace. This entailed asbestos boards behind the furnace, as well as asbestos tape around the old ducts.
