He said the handle needed replacing and that he would order one. He also did fix the water into the washing machine. He never ordered the handle and did not follow up. It was at my daughters house and she might have misunderstood him.

Our gas water heater hose sprung a leak and flooded the water heater in the middle of the night on MLK weekend and the leak was not discovered until the next morning. The water went down the middle exhaust plume and put out the pilot light and burner. Water was several inches deep in the bottom of the water heater tank jacket and was all over the floor as well. The water heater had a warning on the side of it that once it is flooded it should not be relighted. We were sure we would need to buy a new water heater for hundreds of dollars. The Beaver plumber came out and assessed the situation and based on his knowledge of the situation he knew that he could safely restart the pilot light and burner and proceeded to do so. Everything went very well, and we were most impressed that Beaver was one of very few plumbers working on the MLK holiday, yet they arrived on time that afternoon and had fixed our issue within an hour. We were impressed and very happy with their service.

I was satisfied with them but I have no idea how much they charged me for that service. They were very friendly and knowledgeable. Their rates were quite competitive. They seemed quite competent and the work was done well. I did not use them this last time and I just had some work done by another plumbing company and reason why I went with the other company was because they caught something about the construction that Beaver Plumbing and Heating Inc. did not. I would probably use them again in the future under the right circumstances like if I get a good bid from them. Their work was good.

It was smooth as glass. They arrived on time, 2 guys, one went under our house very low crawl space that in itself was worth $200. The other stayed outside and explained what was happening and also assisted the one under the house. They replaced both faucets and repaired the pin hole in less then an hour. I was pleased with their work and will use them again if necessary.

They did fine on many of the issues and I'd used them at previous houses as well (several times). During some plumbing assistance on the house purchased at auction - there was one huge issue that came up, and has remained a problem. Upon noticing some rotting of old pipes in the guest bathroom, I chose to reconfigure my bathroom (move toilet/shower/bath)). I had a contractor do most of the work, and then the plumbers do the plumbing part. There was one pipe that noone knew what it led to and they (Beaver Plumbing) thought was 'dead' (unused). They decided that it would be better just to pull it out, and when they cut it open I ended up with a huge water spout/fountain in my bathroom. OK, honest mistake. They capped it off and that was the end of it - it was then buried in the cement subflooring when we had to repour the floor. But it never was figured out where that pipe led. They simple rendered it useless, with my agreement because I was going off of their advice and didn't really understand the problem other than water everywhere... potentially no water somewhere, but it wasn't something they were able to discern (there were some outside hose spigots that weren't getting water, but they coudln't figure out why or where the problem was prior, so it was assumed the pipe led to a hose spigot) Once I got moved in and had a washer/dryer installed - I realized that I had no cold water running to the laundry room. Because of budget limitations to do any more non-critical/necessary plumbing (plumbers are expensive), and I figured I could 'live' with only hot water to my washing machine - I did not persue fixing it correctly. I have spent the past year with no cold water in my washing machine. I'm now in a better situation and would like it corrected, but I'm not sure that I would go with them again - only because it's been a long time, and seemed 'wrong' that they wouldn't figure out how to rectify the situation at the time and follow up on it considering there WAS running water in the pipe. (it had to be going to somewhere in theory... right?) So that was the last we spoke - everything else in the house is working fine - just not the cold water in the laundry room. Again, I accept responsibility for not following up one way or another, but I just didn't have the capacity to make a priority of it at the time, however - I am not entirely sure I would go with them again... I will be getting estimates again sometime in the not-too-distant future, I will call them to get an estimate and discuss the problem... but I'm not sure I will go with them, even though they were reasonable, if not good in prior encounters.
Description of Work: Purchased a house at auction. It had some plumbing issues that needed addressed - bath and shower problems mostly in both bathrooms, trying to figure out how to get the outside hoses intuitively operational, and some trouble with a water heater (and associated plumbing) (I wish I had/could remember more details, but I don't right now). On separate occasions though, I have had them replace hot water heaters, fix water leaks (outside the house, and inside), and resolve some other shower leak problems). I've used them many times before and was happy with their service. They are nice guys, quick to respond.

Response from Beaver Plumbing & Heating Inc
Beaver Plumbing has two invoices from the Member at this address. The first call was on 10/14/2011 for no water at outside hose bibbs. After assessing her issue we discovered the house is built on a slab with steel pipes buried in the concret. The house had been partly repiped through the attic. Whomever did the re-pipe neglected to reconnect the outside hose bibbs. The Member had us run new water lines and install two new outside hose faucets. It is possible that the cold water feed to her washer was never re-piped. We have no record of any issues in the laundry room. The second invoice was on 11/16/2011 and the Member wanted to rearrange fixtures in one of her bathrooms. We came in to move drains for a bathtub and toilet where she had a contractor break up the floor. Unfortunately one of the old galvanized water lines was in the way. Assuming all these lines were dead because of the repipe we cut it out of our way. Well like the Member said the water line was still live. After capping the line we tested fixtures including her kitchen which is between the bathroom and laundry room. Either way it would have had to been removed in order to place the toilet where she wanted. As for our pricing we are a flat rate shop. The Member was given the price of the job before work began and she agreed to it.

Two people arrived on time, I explained the situation. They asset the problem. They had the part and equipmet to replace the garbage disposal. I asked some questions about my dishwasher and they wereable to answer my questions in terms I could understand.

Early this afternoon we noticed a leak in a pipe in our basement that was spraying water - like rain in the inside of the house. The water had collected and was moving into our carpeted area. Things were going in the wrong direction quickly. We called other plumbing companies but they couldn't fit us in today. So we checked Angie's List and found Beaver Plumbing and Heating Inc had recent "A" ratings for the kind of work we needed today. We called the Beaver Plumbing office and received a helpful and caring resource person at the other end of the phone. She let us know that the plumbers were in the field working, but that she would give them a call to see if they could help us today. Within a few minutes we received a call back to let us know that the crew would be able to help us in an hour. An hour later two professional employees pulled up in their truck. They introduced themselves, assessed the problem, quoted us a price and showed us where the water shut off was in the house! Then they set to work and had the project completed professionally and quickly. The outside faucet works better than it ever has.

I checked Angies List before choosing B***** Plkumbing to call for assistance on our leaking toilet. I called at 8:15am and they (two gentlemen) were at my house at 9:35am the same day. Two delightful employees who came in, assessed the situation, gave me the total cost upfront and set to work. I told them when they arrived I got their name off Angies List and their rating was what sold me on using their business. They were everything I expected and more. Our aging cocker spaniel spent a great deal of time getting petted by one of the plumbers - both men said they are "dog people" so I didn't try and pry the dog off of them. Their work was done professionally, they explained everything as they went along, and they cleaned up after themselves and made sure the toilets were working. (Yes, they looked at our second bathroom toilet and fixed what was wrong with that (hose had fallen off) and replaced a part without charging me). They made sure to remind me that they warranted their work for a year and to call immediately if I had any concerns and they would come right out. I liked that they were personable, explained what needed to be done in easy to understand terms, explained the costs and set to the task without delay. We had a small leak that never went any further and did not cause any damage because B***** Plumbing was good to their word. I would recommend this firm to everyone. Their bill was $206.00 and they easily earned that and more in my book. They are the only plumbers I will ever use in the future.
Description of Work: Replaced mechanism in toilet tank, new stem for turn-off valve, provided all materials. Also checked second toilet (no charge) and got it put together from existing materials so it was sound.

Beginning with the call to request service, the woman who took my call was very easy to work with, and she was able to schedule me for next-day service. The two workmen were very friendly and professional. For the toilet problem he suggested the simpler solution yet prepared me for the possibility of a larger job which, thankfully, wasn't necessary. Both men were very careful and tidy, and very courteous and polite. I'll definitely call them next time I need some work done.

Professional, polite and timely. These men came on time, advised me that the crawlspace pipes were insulated and did not need more insulation. The "Beavers" arrived promptly, listened to my tale of woe, and immediately set to work. I chose to upgrade the kind of hosebib I had (which I am very glad I did), and they crawled under the house to replace the first. After they replaced the second hosebib, they tested to broken pipe (found not 1 but 6 holes/leaks in it) and repaired that. Then they did a compression test on the whole system and determined that there were not any leaks. They told me that if my water bill remained high to contact them again and they would check further, but our water bill went back to normal. The plumbers were prompt, professional, and didn't talk to me like I was an idiot, but as an intelligent human being. B***** has replaced my water heater in the past and. again, were very good and professional.
Description of Work: We had 2 outside hosebibs that needed replacing, and the city let us know they suspected that we had a leak somewhere because of a large increase in consumption. Also, I asked them to check some garage pipes that had previously frozen and exploded.

I came home from a business trip to find that the city had turned off my water because a neighbor had phoned in that water was pouring out of my meter box in the sidewalk. I called B***** late Thursday afternoon, and they had my water back on by Tuesday morning. They provided a bid which was very accurate.
Description of Work: B Plumbing replaced the connection from the meter in the sidewalk outside my home into the crawlspace. In the process, they also installed a backflow preventer and connection point for a sprinkler system that I am installing. The line from the street had to be bored in by a separate excavation company that B arranged.

Overall, I found them pleasant, professional and no nonsense. A pleasure.
Description of Work: I needed to have a hose bib replaced. They arrived on time, gave the estimate and I okay'd the charges so they started right away. They installed a much better hose bib and gave me an estimate to install two more hose bibs a the back yard. The estimate seemed reasonable, so I authorized that work as well. We scheduled a return visit for a week later and they again showed up promptly, worked efficiently and cleaned up after themselves when finished.
