Square 1 Electric

They were very professional with setting our appointment date and time, and the electrician assigned to my job that morning, James, contacted me to confirm that he would be here at the time specified. All work was completed in a timely manner and he cleaned up after himself. Everything is back to normal and working good with the heater in my shop now! Also, I must say that Square 1 is a great choice for all your electrical needs, whether big or small! We've used them for two fairly large remodel projects at our home, basically gutting and rewiring the entire upstairs and installing an updated circuit breaker panel, and then some smaller projects after that (like the shop heater replacement I mentioned above). I would definitely call them again for any electrical needs, and I highly recommend them for your next project!

Square 1 Electric exceeded my expectation as they were responsive to my request. They provided me with cost range for the electrical grounding and able to schedule around a time that worked for my plumbing project that was also going on. The cost was less than anticipated. I would hire this company again for future needs if needed.

First off owning a small business myself I hate to leave bad reviews because I know the damage it can have. But in this case I really didn't feel like I had a choice. Most bad reviews online are so over exaggerated so I'm going to be completely honest with you guys on my experience. I think with a lot of businesses it really depends on which tech you get on the job. In my case I had the same electrician twice and I should of gone with my gut the first time around not to use them again. First off the estimator Jeff seemed very friendly and I enjoyed working with him but his true colors showed though. He called my while his electricians were still working on my house and was very huffy and rude. He was upset because of the lighting used was new construction and not remodel. He said his electrician told him that he told me the first trip we used the wrong cans. This was the first lie. I was never told until half way through the second job that for the next round of lighting we needed remodel cans. The kitchen was harder to access due to the roof being lower. So instead of installing the new construction cans in another part of our house that has easy access he proceeds to install them in the kitchen. It wasn't until halfway through the job he said something about getting the right cans for the next visit. So we ended up spending a lot more money on labor then if he would of just told us hey this is going to cost a lot more since its not the right equipment. Let move to the living room where we know it won't be a problem. Oh yea the electrician also on our first visit lied to Jeff about saying he clearly told us about possible plaster damage when drilling holes. That is a complete LIE he never mentioned anything about damaging the plaster. To Square One Electric credit they did give me a 75.00 credit. But is wasn't on the final bill as Jeff new we're parting ways and never mentioned it to the tech. So I had to bring it up or I would of never been credited. The biggest complaint I had though even after all the lies was Jeff the estimators attitude toward me on the phone. I was shocked after dealing with him several times on just how rude he was to me. Not only were they still on schedule for their next job but they didn't lose a dime on this as I paid for time and materials for this job. But he was so upset that I had the wrong cans and his tone of voice was uncalled for. Jeff alone is the reason we're leaving this company and finding a competitor. We had planned on having Square One light every room in our house plus some more stuff. We figured after everything we would be spending $6000 total. Luckily we were only into them for $2000 before we saw their true colors. My intentions here are not to destroy this company I just wanted to give you guys the truth about my experience.

They did amazing work for me. It has been 7 years since they have done work for me. As soon as I can afford to have them finish the work I will have them back. They are the best!

They did a great job! Every nice and did a quality job. The house is 70 years old & lets say a challenge to work on.

Great job, very fair price and we are super happy with the work. A great company, with great service and people - so hard to find and very much appreciated. We will recommend to anyone needing residential electric services and hire them again for our work in a heartbeat.

Great! Needed the oven back ASAP, so it was an emergency overtime job. (Hence the C on the price). Mark, the electrician was very professional and personable. As en emergency job, we had to pay a minimum of 2 hours. He was done in an hour and immediately asked if there was anything else he could do for us with the second hour for which we had already paid. While I know we had paid, I think many people would have just left - so we really appreciated his honesty and him take care of a number of small issues that had been minor problems. Would definitely use them again.

It was after hours, so there was an added charge - but they were prompt, polite and very professional!

On time and excellent work and cleanup

Crew was fantastic - very cordial and professional. They asked for our input, kept us informed, and when they ran into some obstacles, they worked with us to resolve them creatively at no added cost. Worked quickly and left the place spotless.

I have nothing but high praise from my experience of having Square 1 Electric, who installed a generator transfer switch/panel, for a generator I recently purchased from Costco. Jeff the estimator came out and gave me a fair bid (isn't that all we want). He provided me with experienced information, and selected a compatible panel for my needs. He answered questions promptly and professionally prior to the work beginning. Mark (the master journeyman) and Micah (the young apprentice) showed up yesterday on time and went right to work. They installed the panel as if they were doing it for their own homes. After the panel was installed, they tested the generator to make sure all the circuits were wired and functioning correctly, and gave me a rundown, on what to do next time an ice/wind storm comes along and knocks out power to the neighborhood. (Bring on the freezing rain). I have been in the construction industry for 40 years, and I would not hesitate to recommend to have Square 1 Electric do any electrical work on my home (or for family and friends). In fact, after they left, I noticed that my garage floor was cleaner then before they started! VERY PROFESSIONAL (and a touch of Old School)! And a footnote to all this, Holly, (the office manager/scheduler) is an equally valued employee. She handled my billing, and helped with scheduling the electrical inspection. Six star rating (out of five) for Square 1 Electric!

The work went well. My one complaint is that they put their waste in our recycle bin. I wish they had asked, used the trash can, or taken it with them. None of that stuff was recyclable.

Job went great, they were able to come three days early and went right to work. Cleaned up after they were finish.

Mark was the electrician and he was friendly and professional. He arrived on time and was finished within an hour.

Scheduling the job was quick, electrician was on time. Work was performed by electrician lead and apprentice. They generally followed my instructions but the work was a little sloppy. They didn't wear protective booties so got the house dirty. They chipped paint on the wall where ladder was installed. Not impressed with the quality and attention to details - to be fair, it was highly dependent on the the lead electrician.

It was great. The electricians arrived exactly at 8:00 am each day and worked hard every day. It took a day longer than expected and they honored the original estimate. There were a few snags due to the age and complexity of the job, and at each juncture, the electrician explained the situation, pros and cons and I was able to make informed decisions. I have worked with a few different electricians for a variety of reasons over the years, and I wholeheartedly recommend Square 1.

Mark came out that same afternoon, addressed and fixed the problem, then went into the attic to see what might have caused the can to push through the ceiling(he found a piece of plywood over the rafters where the can is and determined that the workers who installed a new furnace for us evidently stoo d on it and loosened the can light. He cleaned up after himself and showed pictures he'd taken of the situation. In the future, I will call them for any electrical needs.

The two electricians assigned to the job arrived precisely on schedule and completed the work in 4 days as predicted. When they left each day they completely cleaned up where they had worked and left all electricity in working condition. The team of Mark and Micah were very competent and experienced in this type of job and were able to deal with the surprises which always come up in this type of job. They were also very pleasant people and very comfortable to have working in my home for 4 days.

The work began well, there were two gentlemen working Monday thru Friday August 22 - 26. They completed 99% of the work and would return on Monday, August 29 to complete. Unfortunately a job over the weekend took longer than expected and they were not able to complete our job until September 6. The unfortunate matter was that we had not planned on this and my husband had taken the 29th off to be at the house. We were not contacted about the delay until we called Square 1 on the 29th because no one had shown up yet. They apologized for the delay and offered a $200 discount for the trouble. On the plus side the work was done well with minimal wall patching needed. They also offered to cover the bill for the hole that had to be drilled in our hardwood floor. The two C's in the rating are for the issue of not contacting us concerning the delay in completing the job. Overall, we are happy with the work.

It went great. I had no idea the wiring in a house was so complicated and Kurt and his apprentice took the time to explain everything to me and gave details and recomendations so I could make an informed choice on where to relocate the switch.

They were really good; they were fast.

The installer was friendly, very careful to put down tarps, and clean up after the job was done. There was no ceiling repaid from the holes being cut 2 in. larger in diameter you can't tell anything was done. Some of the old cans were very difficult to remove. The job took longer than originally estimated but we were charged the original estimate price.

All elements of the experience were great. Holly (in the office) was easy to work with, friendly, and really helpful. Jeff, who came out to the estimate, was knowledgeable and prompt. Kurt, who did the work, was professional, polite, and very knowledgeable. With so many activities occurring at the same time, they made a process I was not looking forward to really painless. I would use them again in a heartbeat.

The team showed up right on time and was fantastic! The took care of all elements of the projects, and used tarps where appropriate to protect my furniture from dust and debris. They made sure that I was happy with the chandelier height and that I knew all the features of my fan.

Square One was on site as a subcontractor to an HVAC contractor who was replacing my furnaces (those charges were part of the furnace bid). While Bear (aka Curt/Kurt), the electrician with Square One, was on site, I asked for some advice on replacing a malfunctioning GFI outlet and he offered to do it for me (for a cost, of course :) He explained that it wouldn't take very long and that their minimum was a first-hour charge of $130. He asked if there were any other electrical issues I'd like to him address as part of that hour. I remembered a dimmer I had previously installed that I couldn't get working quite right so I asked if he could fix that too. He had the parts that were needed on his truck and was able to address both issues within the one-hour minimum. Bear was an absolute delight to talk with. I was interested in what he was doing and why, and he willingly took the time to explain his actions. We had a great conversation while he was working, and I highly recommend him to anyone that has electrical repair work that needs to be done. I didn't check to see if Square One's prices were competitive, but I feel like I got my money's worth and more. To top things off, all of this took place late on a Friday, and Bear was on site until at least 5:00 without any complaints.
