Our Ac had been performing like junk, we used them with a coupon. One of the issues i faced was the ground had sunk and unit was no longer level. I asked him for an estimate to fix it and he informed me it's just a foam under the concrete and then lifted the unit to i could put a piece of wood under it to level, that's what i call a value add. He performed service and gave me an estimate to top off the coolant before performing the work. After he took the time to explain to me the kind of performance i can really expect and that upgrading to a more powerful unit would not be beneficial, i really appreciated the honest, they've earned repeat business for sure.
Description of Work: AC Tuneup. Checked the air filter, recommended replacement. Helped me level the AC, performed a tuneup and added coolant.

All service was performed in a timely and professional manner. We also thought the price was fair.

I wanted to take advantage of the Big Deal - a 16-point Fall Furnace Tune-up - offered at the time by Service Now. I purchased the Deal, and was contacted by Service Now to set up the initial appointment. I have a gas-fired boiler for our home's hot water heat system, and I was told that the company did not service boilers. The company contact was pleasant and professional. I received a full refund.

I had purchased a coupon from Angie's List. It was very helpful to have reviews when making my decision to have my furnaced looked at. Repair person arrived during the time that was set up. He went right to work and checked the furnace for what was agreed upon. He was quick and professional. After completion of the tune up, he went over everything that he inspected and explained what he had done. Tighten bolts, clean air filter, etc. Advised me on what needs to be done in the future in order for the furnace to operate efficiently.

Installer was very knowledgeable and had many, many years of experience. He arrived on time, was very professional, and completed the job in a timely manner. Would definitely hire again.
Description of Work: Furnace tune up, addition of new slot for larger and better quality filters. $84.50 for tune-up, however, I don't recall how much I paid for the installation of the new filter compartment.

I have lived in my house for about 15 years and have never had my heating/air conditioning cleaned and tuned up. The person that came out seemed to be very mindful of my home and went about his work right away. I showed him the furnace and air conditioner unit and that was all I had to do. The man that came appeared to be very knowledgeable and answered all my questions and also gave me some helpful hints too. I would definitely use this company again.
Description of Work: The service performed on my furnace and air conditioning system was a thorough cleaning and checking to make sure that all was in good working order. I carefully took pieces apart and cleaned and vacuumed that inside and actually removed and replaced the air filter. Amazingly, he actually showed me that correct way of inserting the filter.

When I called on Friday they were very friendly and helpful and I was told someone would be out between 8:00 and 10:00 am on Monday. Jerry arrived at EXACTLY 8:00 am that morning. I was very impressed. He found the problem with the humidifier right away and it was simply a clogged tube and an aged filter. After getting his opinion on the need for a humidifier and why you would even have one in a climate like Oregon's, I asked him if he could de-commision it and show me how to turn it back on if I should decide to use it in the future. He was most helpful in explaining how to do that. Our furnace turned out to be in good shape but he did find that the condensate pump was getting worn out and might stop working in the future. He informed me of where I could possibly get the pump myself and how much it would cost with installation. He also took the time to break down in writing all the checks he made and services he performed on the furnace on my invoice and went over each one with me. The $99.00 cost was a special they were running on the furnace maintenance and he did not charge any extra. Great service and great price! Thank you, Jerry!

The technician found my AC was low on freon... he showed me how the test was done and how he could tell when enough new freon had been added. He was excellent at explaining how the AC and the blower in the furnace had to work together to probably have a good working system. He took out the furnace blower motor... it was filthy!! He cleaned it and all seemed good. However, later that day, it stopped working. He came back after hours... no complaining from him at all. Turns out I had to have the blower motor replaced... therefore the $525. The furnace is about 18 years old... so it was probably due for a repair. I would hire this company again.

I am very pleased with this company and Frank and would definitely recommend to others. Thank goodness for Angie's List. I would/will use again. I called around noon and they were able to get us scheduled for the same day. TY. Frank, the service rep, was amazing while friendly he was/is very professional and has a good eye for checking things out/over.
Description of Work: Frank, the service rep, was right on time. Friendly and professional. I showed him the furnace and he immediately went to work and identified to me the problems. Repairs were made quickly and I am now sitting in a warm house. One item that needs to be replaced has to be ordered and I will have these fine folks install it when it comes in. Frank also checked the gas flow and noticed it was more than needed, he adjusted it and maybe we'll save $$$ on gas bills. I am very pleased with this company and would definitely recommend to others. Thank goodness for Angie's List

Guy showed up on time, did a great job, was in and out, and offered useful advice to keep the furnace in working order. We had just moved into the home and it was very obvious the furnace had not been maintained or cleaned in a very long time. Now, looks and works like new. I will definitely be using Service Now Inc. Our furnace -- installed by this same company -- is a condensing furnace. The tech explained how we need to keep the filter cleaned, or rust can form in the core of the furnace. He showed us a rusted core part from another furnace. This was not to sell us anything, but as a visual aid to get us to do our own smart maintenance. Bringing homeowners into the team to keep a furnace running well is a nice touch. Okay, furnace filter cleaning....on our fall list! The cost for the inspection was half the normal cost, because we used a "Big Deal" we got from being Angie's List members.
Description of Work: The service tech checked our furnace, and gave us tips for how to deal with the washable filter. He was prompt, careful, and more than just a tech. The furnace is under the house, in a tight area, but with a light that we had to add when the furnace went in. We did not have the ducts cleaned at the time of the inspection.

The technician cleaned the ash from the flue, and inspected the rest of the furnace for proper function. My complaint is that he repeatedly dropped screws as he was disassembling and assembling things, and not long after his inspection the furnace started making odd sounds that it had never made before. Still worked, but I have to wonder if it wouldn't have been better off without the 'maintenance.'

We contacted this member in response to his review and the noise issue he has commented on. We offered to come back out at no charge to look the unit over but he stated he sold the house back in March. We hope to have the opportunity to work with this member in the future.

It went extremely well. Backstory: I'd had the Carrier HVAC installed in the dead of winter, when my 30-year old HVAC system failed. It was below freezing outside and in the low 40s in the house, so I was desperate. I called the folk who had been servicing the unit and asked them for a quiet, reliable, low-energy system asap. The company, Climate Control, assured me the system was the quietest on the market, low-maintenance, energy-saving, and one of the best on the market. And it came with a 10 year warranty so if it needed repairs, they were covered. For the most part, I have no complaints about the unit itself. But it's at the back of my house, in the basement, and was so noisy that you could hear it standing at the foot of my driveway, some 30 feet away. If you were actually in the same room with it, you had to shout to be heard. I called Climate Control about it, they came out a couple of times to investigate, and finally said it was the water pump making all the noise, and there was no other pump available. There was nothing they could do about it. Considering how expensive this system was, I was very disappointed. I called Climate Control once more, when the LED panel said there was trouble. The man came out, fixed it, and gave me a bill. I said I'd thought things were under warranty, and he said that since I hadn't called THEM for regular service, the entire warranty was void, and so any repairs would be charged at full price. After a lot of arguing, with him and the manager (by phone), they discounted the bill somewhat, but warned me that they would only come out at full price after that. That certainly wasn't what I'd been told when I spent more than $8,000 for the unit. And so when this leak started, no way was I calling Climate Control again. I checked out Angie's List and chose Service Now. I called Monday afternoon, they called back within an hour, and offered to come out that afternoon if necessary. We scheduled an appointment between 8:00 and 8:30AM Tuesday; Frank arrived at 8:03. He was courteous, got right down to business. The leak turned out to be coming from an overflowing p-trap in the condensation system. The installers hadn't really gone through much about how to maintain my HVAC system, and it turned out the p-trap needed to be reamed out regularly with a special brush (which they didn't provide). It hadn't been done since the system was serviced in 2008, and the p-trap had filled with brown sludge. The solution was simple--clean out the p-trap--and it would have been much less expensive than the option I chose. I asked if the new pump would be quieter, and Frank assured me it would. I also mentioned that it seemed to be on a lot, and he said it was pumping a very low volume. He explained the options, said I could probably get along with the existing pump, but I chose to replace the entire thing. He also suggested replacing the tubing that led into the sink with tubing of slightly larger diameter, to facilitate the flow, at no additional charge. I was very OK with that, and he also rerouted the tubing into my washing machine drainpipe instead of the sink, which should resolve some discoloring issues I had. He made the replacement, then did the HVAC checkup and winterization. Along the way he explained troublecodes and maintenance, making sure that I knew where to find things. I was impressed with the depth of his knowledge of HVAC systems--the previous installers had pretty much ignored me. (Admittedly, I should have read the manual, but hey--who reads manuals these days?) The entire visit took about an hour and a half, and I was very satisfied with the result. I also received special pricing for Angies List members, which was nice--I saved perhaps $75 on the call. I would definitely use Service Now again.
Description of Work: Carrier Infinity 96 developed a mysterious leak that was getting water all over the place. It also had a bright red water pump (to remove condensation) that sounded like a jet aircraft taking off--you could hardly hear yourself think--which I suspected was the cause of the problem. And it was time for a winter service anyway. So Frank from Service Now performed these tasks: -Did a full HVAC checkup, service and cleaning -Diagnosed the source of the leak (it was actually a clogged p-trap in the condensation tubing, not the pump) -Replaced the water pump, all drainage tubing -Relocated the drainage tubing so that instead of draining into the laundry sink (which was discoloring the sink), it now drains out the washing machine drain -Gave me the maintenance training I should have had when the unit was installed in 2007 so that the leak won't happen again (we hope)

I called late last week to schedule an appointment for an annual furnace check/tune up. The gentleman who scheduled us let us know that they were currently running an early season special for $129.00 instead of the usual $149.00. We requested our usual technician, Jerry, before picking a day. We picked from what we thought was his availability, and settled on a date and two hour window. About an hour before our time window, we received a call from Service Now. They were letting us know that our technician was running ahead of schedule, and checked if it was okay with us for our technician to arrive earlier. This worked for us, and Frank arrived within 10 minutes. I was surprised that it was not Jerry since we had specifically requested him, but we were equally pleased with Frank. Frank was very polite and professional. He walked me through each step of the tune up, and even gave me some tips that I could do to keep the furnace running in top shape/keep the air quality in the house cleaner. He even made an adjustment to the speed of the fan on the A/C that he mentioned was set too low at the install. Upon completion of the tune up, Frank had asked me if we use Angie's List. Having used Service Now for the install of our A/C, and multiple times with Jerry for our annual tune up, I don't feel the need to check their Angie's List reports before scheduling. Frank let me know that I need to mention Angie's List during scheduling because they were currently running a special of $99 for the same service. He was polite, and gave me the 10% discount that they usually offer. This is the reason for the rating of "B" on price (knowing that a better price existed). I want to stress that missing out on the pricing was completely my responsibility, and not Service Now's. In the future I will check Angie's list prior to scheduling. Overall, we were pleased with the promptness and quality of service from Service Now and Frank.

Service was timely and professional. Technician was personable and helpful, offering lots of suggestions. When I mentioned that I had specific problems with cooling, technician set about with diagnostics. When a major problem was discovered, technician was prepared with to fix immediately.
Description of Work: I paid for a pre-season service for A/C which I received along with lots of suggestions to improve cooling. However, I also received some diagnostics that resulted in on-the-spot fixes. It was expense because of the materials used, but the service was reasonably priced and excellent.
