Yrs of annual service on furnance from a different, well-known Portland company. Service call in April found a crack (that was not new), that hadn't been picked up by their tech in Nov 2012. Crack found while I was at work, I requested tech come back and show me crack, explain implications, answer my questions. Instead, they sent out a salesman who said he couldn't answer any of my technical questions, but recommended a new furnance for $5,000. Other option was repair (not recommended). Part was under warranty, but labor would still be nearly $700. Service Now called for second opinion. Tech provided long explanation, prompt service, replaced part for total of $595 (labor and part). Will never go back to previous company. So glad I got this second opinion and now have a trustworthy furnace company.

I don’t remember whom I spoke to over the phone, but the guy that came out was very knowledgeable when he gave me some tips on how to make my unit run more efficiently by using different 2.45. He was just very pleasant and informative. I will absolutely consider using them again in the future.

They came out, checked and cleaned the furnace. They gave an assessment of the current condition of the furnace and made recommendations of things we could do to keep the furnace running efficiently.

He made suggestions and did cleaning and adjusting which needed to be done. All without me asking. He was very helpful

Routine service of high efficiency gas furnace. The serviceman not only did the work as expected but provided me with a great deal of information and education on things I could do myself to keep the furnace healthy. Above and beyond my expectations.

I called for an appt. They made the appt as planned. No problems.

On March 11th I had my furnace and heat pump's yearly service. Everything went very well and it checked out ok. I called the company inquiring if they had a thermostat that would replace my old mercury slide one. The recommended the Honeywell 8000 with a temp. sensor that goes outside. It prevents the heat strips in my furnace from coming on until the outside temp. reaches 25 degrees. It would save money and could be programmed. My electric bill has been way too high over the years. I was quoted a price of $600 for everything. After reading up on the unit on-line I could understand the cost; great unit. I wanted to check Angie's List to call some HVAC companies and get their prices. I saw that Service Now was having a special for the same thermostat for $274.00 with their 30% off coupon. I called them and with the outside sensor offered for an extra $100, a total of $374 installed. I wanted the unit and was informed a tech. could come out the next day. Just before the 2 hr. window was up, Service Now called and said the tech was running a little late. I definitely appreciated the call. Frank, the tech, arrived a short time later and after introducing himself, set to work. He was very professional, courteous and very respectful at all times. He asked questions when needed and answered questions from me as well. He took his time and when it came to explaining how the unit worked he was very meticulous about making sure I understood how it worked and about saving the literature on programming it. He finished the job and I couldn't be more pleased with the unit and the way in which Frank performed the installation. I would highly recommend Service Now to anyone wanting to replace an old thermostat or other service the company performed.

The technician was friendly and professional. We has happy to explain the issues with my furnace and share his experiences. He pointed out the issues with the furnace, but made no attempts to upsell. Even though the inducer fan is near the end of its life (and making horrible noises sometime), he said it would probably last the winter and recommended I wait until it breaks to replace it. I appreciate someone who argues against me spending money.

The initial phone contact setting up an appointment was easy and professional. I was told upfront about the $85 service fee and was told I would get 10% off my service as an Angie's list subscriber. I was given a two hour window in which the technician would arrive, and was told I would receive a call ahead of time when he was on his way over. The tech arrived within the two hour time window, but I did not receive a call ahead of time. Jerry was the technician, and he was friendly and professional. Jerry told me and showed me that the contactor on the heat pump was broken and needed to be replaced. He told me the part cost was $268.00. That seemed expensive, but I didn't know how much these parts cost. I told him to go ahead and do the work. I took a photo of the box from which he took the part so that I would have part and model number information. The job took him about fifteen minutes and didn't appear to use any special tools. I was charged a total of $321.20, because I was given the 10% discount on the part, but not on the service fee, which doesn't seem right. After the technician left, I searched online for the part by model number and was shocked to find that I could purchase the genuine Carrier brand part for.... $35.00! What an incredible rip off of a mark-up!! I checked numerous websites, and stopped after about five because it was making me sick to my stomach how much I'd been taken advantage of. I have an old, outdated inefficient furnace. I had planned on buying a new one fall 2012, but decided to limp along another year to buy a new furnace fall 2013. I'm sure I don't have to tell you the absolute last company on my list to call for that job. I understand that businesses will markup costs of parts, but to this degree seems downright unethical.

I bought the $99 furnace inspection/tune up. Tech showed up on time and was very professional. Didn't take very long to complete, although there probably wasn't much to inspect and or service since he alerted me that the furnace is due to be replaced and will probably die any day now. Overall it was a good experience and would use them in the future. I also had them come out and do a new furnace quote, a different tech but he was great as well.

Technician arrived at the scheduled appointment time, completed full inspection of heating components and suggested many useful tips to improve heating effiency and reduce overall cost. Excellent communication skills

Gas company came out the night before and found the natural gas odor we were smelling was coming from the furnace's gas valve. I called Service Now when they opened at 8am, and was able to get an appointment window for the same day. Dispatch called to notify me during that window that the technician was on the way. Jerry (our usual tech) arrived in the window that was given, double checked and came up with the same diagnosis. He was able to get the part and installed it in a timely fashion. We now have heat again, and so far no natural gas odor.
