Called for AC service. The technician seemed rushed and uninterested in fixing my AC unit. Charged me $305 to replace the capacitor which did absolutely nothing. When I called to reschedule, Jack transferred me to Jacob who called and assured me he would stop by for a follow up. Never did. Basically, I "donated" $305 to this company. Very poor customer service and I wouldn't recommend them...just my two cents.

I called the owner, manager of Right Now Heating & Cooling.., three times. On my first call to him, he told me that the $249 was a good value and that his guy did actually service my furnace. When I asked him if he would apply some of the $ 249 to help do the repairs that were being called out for $ 550, he said NO. Then, after I had the 2nd company prove to me that the first company was screwing me and that there were no problems and they actually did NOT service the furnace at all, he told me to go pound sand.., that it was too bad and he would not refund my money. This guy and his company are cheats, frauds and terrible people!!!
Description of Work: Terrible company, terrible service, they lied to us and tried to cheat us. This company is also known as Lake Oswego Heating & Cooling and Beaverton Heating & Cooling. They must use alternate names and phone # s so that people will not know who they are when they get screwed. I paid them to service my Gas Furnace and A/C unit. For $ 249, they spent 15 minutes on the job, did not actually service the unit and wrote me a report saying I needed to spend an additional $550 on repairs. So I called in a 2nd company and told them nothing of the first company's recommendations.., the 2nd company charged my only $ 129, they did a 40 minute full service on it. Said the units really needed the cleaning and should have been done sooner, so I have proof that Right Now Heating & Cooling did nothing but try to rip me off. And the 2nd company, gave my furnace a clean bill of health. On the A/C unit I was flat out lied to by Right Now Heating & Cooling because they never even tested it or turned it on.

unfortunately this sounds unbelievable. we always run the equipment. if we are there to perform service maintenance or just a check up you would receive an invoice stating the work completed and the status of what we did.

When I came home from work Friday evening I noticed it was cold in the house. The temp was 65 degrees but the furnace was blowing (cold air). We tried turning furnace off, waiting, then turning back on, etc. to no avail. I live in a single family rental home managed by a property management company. I put in a ticket with them, but they only consider an emergency if the temp goes below 45. We work up Saturday morning to 55 degrees, and we decided to find somewhere that was open on a Saturday. I looked through the web at local companies who were open and had good reviews. I found Right Now Heating and Cooling. They opened at 8 AM - I called at 8:05 AM. I figured there would be no way they could fit me in with such a short notice, but they were super nice and said it would be late but they would call me back. I got the call around 5 pm, and they were at my door within 1/2 hour of the call. Based on my description of the issue he knew exactly what the problem was -- we had a burned out ignition board. It was all brown and crispy in the middle of the board! He had the part (actually 2 of them as the first one wasn't working perfectly), put it in, and we were nice and warm by bedtime! I am so thankful they were able to fit me in, and I highly recommend this company to anyone and everyone!

On Dec. 1st, 2014 we came home from vacation to find that our house was ice cold and that our heat pump and backup furnace were not working. I called several businesses on Dec. 2nd hoping to be able to get someone to come and repair the system that day, as it was exceptionally cold and our only heating sources were an inefficient wood burning fireplace and a space heater. I have to admit that I was discouraged because most of the businesses I called didn?t have appointment availability until later that week at the earliest, so I continued to call around until and ultimately left a message with Right Now Home Services. I received a call from Right Now shortly after leaving my message and was pleased to hear that they had an appointment available later that day. Little did I know that scheduling a service with Right Now Home Services would be one of the worst choices I have ever made. When the technician Glen Nelson arrived, he was reasonably courteous and professional. I explained that our heat pump and our back up furnace were both not functioning, and that the furnace would light, but would not stay lit for more than a minute or so. Mr. Nelson did a variety of checks of both the heat pump and furnace, but could not find the problem. He also examined our thermostat and decided that it needed to be replaced because the configuration menu would not open. He got a new thermostat and used it to replace the old one, hoping that this would solve the problem. Initially, it seemed that the new thermostat was able to turn on the gas furnace, and he told me to watch the temperature and make sure that it was going up. Since we were assuming the problem was solved, Mr. Nelson gave me an invoice for the work he had done, which I was shocked to find amounted to $806, an amount I felt was outrageous, but I wrote him a check nonetheless. Mr. Nelson left to go to his next appointment, and told me to call if the temperature did not continue to rise or if the furnace turned off again. I checked the thermostat several times within the hour after Mr. Nelson left and the temperature was not going up. I also checked the furnace and realized that it had turned off. I told my husband to call Mr. Nelson to have him come back because it seemed that replacing the thermostat had not actually solved the problem and that the furnace was not staying on. When my husband called the phone number listed on Mr. Nelson?s business card, Mr. Nelson did not answer, but instead the call was answered by the owner of Right Now Home Services, Jack Brockway. My husband explained that the furnace was still not working, and Mr. Brockway advised my husband to keep watching it and give it a bit more time. We waited for a while longer, and since the furnace was still not working, I called again and Mr. Brockway answered. I explained to Mr. Brockway that the furnace was still not working, and that Mr. Nelson had told me to call if we continued to have an issue and that he would be happy to come back to continue to troubleshoot the problem at no additional charge. At this point, Mr. Brockway informed me that he could send Mr. Nelson back, but that there would be an additional charge because he had already replaced our thermostat, and that doing so had ?solved the problem.? I was taken aback because Mr. Nelson had assured me that his work was guaranteed and that he would be happy to continue to work on the problem until it was fixed. I asked Mr. Brockway to contact Mr. Nelson and have him come back, and then I proceeded to ask Mr. Brockway why he thought the furnace was not staying on if replacing the thermostat ?fixed it.? He proceeded to tell me that it was probably a faulty circuit board in the furnace and that it would be likely to cost a couple of thousand dollars to replace. He then rambled on about his years of experience and lectured me for almost an hour on how I should just forget about replacing the circuit board, and that he would be happy to sell me a new furnace instead. I don?t know if Mr. Brockway ever contacted Mr. Nelson to send him back to my house, but Mr. Nelson did not call me and he did not return to my house to fix the still non-functional furnace. If I had been able to reach of Mr. Nelson directly, I feel sure he would have come back to continue his repairs, but this did not happen. The next day, on Dec. 3rd, I decided to call another company to have them come and look at my system and to give me a second opinion about whether the new thermostat really should have solved the problem, or if there was a genuine concern with the circuit board in the furnace. The technician for the second company ran a number of tests and ultimately concluded that there had never been a problem with our original thermostat, and that there was definitely no problem with the circuit board. The problem was a blocked piece of tubing inside the furnace. Once the tubing was replaced, both the heat pump and our gas furnace started to function normally. The entire cost for this repair, including labor, was only $129.50. After the furnace was repaired, I decided to call Right Now Home Services and ask why the technician Mr. Nelson had never come back to finish his repairs and to ask why I had been charged such an outrageous fee for services that did not result in a functioning heat system. Once again, I reached the owner of the company, Mr. Brockway. I asked why he had not sent Mr. Nelson back, and he told me that the technician had already fixed our problem and that unless we would like to schedule a new service appointment at an additional cost, that he would not send Mr. Nelson back. I asked if his work was guaranteed as advertised by Mr. Nelson and on the Right Now website, and he said yes, that the new thermostat was guaranteed, but that he was not responsible for any ?new? problems that had occurred after replacing the thermostat. I proceeded to remind Mr. Brockway that our initial problem was not with the thermostat and that replacing it did not solve the problem. He then yelled at me and said that the thermostat did fix the problem. I loudly responded that it did not fix the problem, that I had had another company come, and they confirmed that blocked tubing was the actual cause of the problem, and then asked if I could have a partial refund and get my original thermostat back. I also told him that I felt he was being very unprofessional by yelling at me. Mr. Brockway then yelled at me again that he would not refund my money or return the thermostat and then hung up on me. I called him back several times, but only reached his voicemail, and even though I left messages, he never returned my calls. I was appalled by how unprofessional Mr. Brockway was toward me and I would never recommend his services to anyone. I realize that now that I was much too hasty when I decided to accept an appointment with his technician, and that I should have more thoroughly researched his company before doing so. While Mr. Nelson was a good technician, and probably would have stood by his work, it is obvious that he has an abysmally unprofessional employer who should not have a business that involves any kind of customer service.

I as, Mr Nelson, always leave you a phone number to contact me directly. and certainly always tell people to contact me if a repair isn't working as stated. Certainly we do t charge for thermostats if that isn't the problem solver. and I would have gladly returned to reevaluate your system at no charge. Glen.

I've worked with several contractors, and Right Now Home Services is by far the worst and least professional to date. They returned my call about sheet rock repair, and after describing the situation to the representative on the phone, he went into an unprofessional, odd game show mode by asking "And how much were you expecting to pay for it?" I told him I was looking for an estimate, and mocked me for wanting to get a bid on such a small job, and said it wouldn't be worth his time to come out and give an estimate. He then continued in the game show mode asking: "Would you be willing to pay $200?" The conversation went downhill from there. I suppose it makes sense that the job was too small (though I don't expect this from a "home services" company), but I think he could've been more polite and less sleazy and conveying that. I do not recommend this company - there are plenty of courteous, professional contractors in Oregon. Go with them.

We are very sorry to hear about the trouble you had in trying to receive an estimate on you're small sheet rock project. I believe you have mistakenly put this review on our company as opposed to the actual contractor you spoke with. I will say that our company also treats small projects like the one you are describing as what is commonly called a "SERVICE JOB" Small jobs like these are primarily performed by our company on a T&M or "Time and Material Basis". Meaning the customer ONLY pays for the amount of time and material used to complete the project. By working in this manner we have found that it creates a PERFECT, WIN WIN situation for both the customer and our company. EVERY company I have ever worked for throughout my 26 year career as a service professional has operated their business in this manner. I feel certain that the other contractor didn't explain the process correctly and therefore you must not have understood how the process works. I would again like to apologize for the contractor you spoke with on this matter. It certainly WAS NOT our company. If you would have spoken with one of our service professionals you would have been RESPECTFULLY informed of our process for completing small projects as you have declared yours to be. Sincerely, Management

I contacted the provider by telephone. I received a quote over the phone. It included the equipment, warranty and labor, which required installing the Daikin unit and electrical work to run power to the breaker box and install the correct breaker. The workers arrived as scheduled and worked independently throughout the day. From time to time they has a question about the house or other related work and the work was done about six hours later. They cleaned up professionally and aside from the installed unit I wouldn't know they were even in my home.
Description of Work: Right Now Home Services arrived as two professionals with work vans to install a Daikin mini split heat pump / AC.
